Dora Evans is annoyed that her family are ignoring her while she’s in bed ill. To teach them what life would be like without her she absconds on a weeks break to learn how to play tennis. Partner Tim has had enough of Dora’s behaviour and to the surprise of daughter Camille and son Tyler, refuses to bring her home.As the week goes on and tempers settle, Dora decides to read up on being a more … more submissive housewife and how to allow Tim to make the choices. In the meantime, Tim reads Dora’s Alpha books to see what her ideal man would be.
When Tim does collect his wife the Alpha meets the Submissive woman. Will they continue to make a great team or is this match about to end?
One way or another Tim’s going to need New Balls Please.

Absolutely loved this one. This is about Tim and Dora the parents who technically aren’t married but have been together forever. Both of their children have moved out and she has had enough. She packs up and takes a vacation. Tim thinks it is because of something he isn’t doing so he becomes an alpha male and tries to make her his submissive. This leads to a book full of humor that will have you laughing through most of the book. This is my favorite one in the Ball series so far. Again Andie has written an amazing fun book.
I knew Dora’s story would be a good one. I’ve always loved her and to be honest she’s teaching me a few things about this Mum/partner life business, although I don’t think my other half would quite appreciate the sentiment if I went to the lengths that she went to in this book to get herself noticed. He’d have a coronary if I booked a week at Centre Parcs.
Once again Andie M Long has written a book that tackles real life issues with humour. It’s always lovely to catch up with Dora, Tim and the family. I can’t wait to see what the next Ball Games book has in store for us. New Balls Please is a fabulous quick read.
New Balls Please by Andie M Long a balltastic five-star read, this is the third book in the Ball games series, I loved the first book in the series Balls as it was so funny, then the second book kicked it in the balls as it was even funnier. I am surprised to say that I didn’t think the series could get better, but it does. I have such high hopes for book number four that I may explode before I can arrange my TBR pile to get it read. In this third chapter of the series we finally get to the bottom of Dora Evans and Tim Turner, we met them in the first two books as they are Camille and Tylers parents. They have always been funny, but they come into their own in this book.
Dora isn’t very well, she has Tonsillitis and spends a couple of days dying in bed, due to a miscommunication she thinks none of her family care about her, she decides that she doesn’t care and she is going for a week’s break at centre parks, they can all fend for themselves. During the week Dora starts to wonder if she has made the right decision and starts to read up about being a better wife. She realises that she must change, but will it be enough?
When Tim finally realises that she is gone, he’s angry, how dare she run off with his hard-earned money. He works full time for a nice holiday, and she’s wasting it on herself. When he looks for advise he finds it in a place he never expected. He becomes an Alpha male and goes to get his woman. But will he like what he finds?
If you read one series this year, make it this series, it’s funny and crazy, and I guarantee you won’t hate it, if you do please tell me why, I would love to know why.
Favorite Quotes:
“I know, but she gets me to do things and afterwards I’m wondering how she did it… It’s some form of brainwashing.”
“I think Miranda buys books rather than compulsively eats. At thirty-eight, she’s divorced, and I guess it was books, food or cats and books won.”
“‘How long have you been together?’ ‘Almost thirty years.’ ‘Christ you don’t get that for murder,’”
“This is the holy grail. This is what women really want… Of course they’re grown up fairy tales. Do you see many suited and booted billionaires coming in here?”
“He takes a seat, and his legs splay apart in a wide-legged stance. You know like some men do on the bus? As if their package needs DHL heavy delivery options.”
My Review:
More bawdy and irreverent humor from the comically gifted Andie M. Long. She is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I smirked and snorted more than a few times during this fun and quick read with mom Dora tossing a full blown tantrum and running off with the savings for an expensive vacation. Her impetuous behavior, amusing shenanigans, and curious experiments were more than entertaining. Poor Tim tries to make improvements on his end by taking cues from the Fifty Shades of alpha moves, with confusing results. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Long dreams up with next.
