On a fateful, stormy night, a ghost from the past revealed himself under the glow of a street lamp. A ghost whose smile was as cold and dangerous as his heart. He remembered her well. She was the one everyone talked about. The poor girl down the street born into a family of monsters. The one he’d obsessed over, taunted and harassed. The very same girl who’d one day suddenly disappeared.Accepting … disappeared.
Accepting his hand, he lifted her off the dirty, vile street and whispered a promise, “No good deed comes without payment,” and from that day on, she was destined to pay the ultimate price.
Seeing her for the first time since she’d vanished all those years ago, had only made him realize his obsession never truly ended. And now, with a promise to keep, he was going to make her disappear again… this time forever.
Dear Readers,
While NEVERLAND contains some romance, it is also a tale of twisted obsession. It certainly is NOT a hearts and flowers type story, and WILL contain triggers for some readers as it deals with particularly confronting situations. I ask that you take this into consideration before you dive in. This cruel, yet touching narrative, with its mix of adoring and sinister characters who exist in its broken world, was at times extremely difficult for me to write, and as each scene unfolds, I expect it will be equally as difficult for ‘some’ to read and accept.
I do, however, thank you for reading NEVERLAND!
Love,
Melissa Jane

Lucy Sommers was born to have a life full of pain, heartache and pain. Betrayed by those that were meant to love and protect her. Every stage of her life filled with pain. This is one dark romance with such tormented twisted obsessions. The monsters have never been far away. This story was heartbreaking with such violence that still happens today. Grab your tissues you will need them.
OMG, this is one of the most twisted and disturbing stories which I have read for a while; and I loved it!! This is a well written story, which is about obsession, and is dark, intense, thrilling, gritty, evil, and with suspense and twists which had me on tenterhooks throughout. I was totally captivated and I cannot wait to read more of this exceedingly talented authors’ work.
After reading some of the other reviews I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into with this book, however like always Melissa Jane did a gut wrenching job with this book.
The synopsis is very vague and honestly I think that is amazing because it’s sucks you into the story by making you want to know what happens.
Lucy has had a very unfair life and doesn’t ever seem to have any good luck. A figure from her past shows up making promises, for most of the promises to continue with this streak of being unlucky.
Will another figure from her past ever keep a promise and turn her lick around?
.
Overall this book has completely ripped me apart and I maybe sadistic in saying that I enjoyed every minute of it.
First time reading this author, I will be reading more. This book has it all, page after page I was so engrossed I didn’t want to do anything else but read. I’m sad that I reached the end so fast.
Heed the authors warning this is not your typically rainbow colored romance read. This was dark, but so much more and you will not be able to escape from the story until the end. So was not expecting the ending and as I look back at what I just read was there a sign that it would end that way? No, the flow of the story was perfect you would have seen the ending. So get ready to be invested in this story of a different twisted love that you can’t help but enjoy.
Nooooo. Nup. No. Just NO!!
WTAF!!
My heart people. My heart is a mess. My emotions are all over the place. I can’t even find the words to express how I’m feeling. I am a fine mess.
Picking up Neverland and I have to be honest here, I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I knew by reading Melissa Jane in the past that I would be in for a read that would capture my heart and soul. But guys never in a million years did I ever expect this novel to shred me to pieces. I couldn’t put this book down. From the start I was held hostage by every page I turned. I was completely absorbed by it. It was more than I ever expected. A perfect piece of literature that will stay with me always.
I don’t want to go into great detail about Neverland because to be honest I know my words will never do it justice. I have written tons of reviews, but I know that my words aren’t worthy here. In no way do I want to taint this dark and sinister read that played me like a fiddle, drawing me in, sucking the soul right out of me. I want readers to experience these monsters just like I did. I want readers to experience the sheer heartache, the pain and the pure evil that lurk in this powerful story. I want readers to feel every emotion, every gut-wrenching moment, and every slice of torment.
A masterpiece crafted so beautifully with such a force that it took my breath away.
Please read Neverland. You will not be disappointed.
Pure perfection.
5 stars.
This book was not my normal read. I’m more of a sunshine and unicorn type of girl with a happily ever after. I couldn’t stop reading this disturbing but compelling story. I didn’t think my heart could take much more. I thought finally at the end poor Lucy was going to get her HEA and bam that ending. I want to curl up into a ball and cry. Even with all that the book was really well written and very good.
5 CRUSHING STARS!! OMG….OMG….OMG, This book has crushed me, I can’t believe what I just read. I would give this book 6 STARS if I could, it will stick with me FOREVER. You know how you read the same types of stories all the time….Well Melissa Jane switches it up, for us readers.
All I can say is read this book, so make sure to 1-Click NOW.
If you’ve ever met Melissa Jane, you’d never believe such a sweet, vivacious woman with the face of an angel could write such a dark, twisted and disturbed thriller that is Neverland! Never indeed!!
This story is NOT for the feint hearted. If you’re all about “Happy Endings” you’ll need to look elsewhere.
You have to admire this author for writing HER story, and she’s done so superbly!
So much so that I feel compelled to add that if you were to have your say on this story, make it about it’s beautifully brutal entirety and not it’s outcome.
I could wax lyrical about Lucy (aka diamond), this story’s heroine and it’s hero Romeo, both of whom are beautifully written; their childhood love and connection is akin to that of legends, but it’s her villain in this tale that drew and maintained my attention and intrigue.
Dominic is a complex creature, an obsessive evil monster, who plays with Lucy like a cat with a mouse.
But there’s something so darkly alluring about him that I couldn’t abjectly hate him.
I so wanted him to reform, but at the same time I couldn’t bare him to be any other way.
I could not put this book down; it sucks you straight in, sinks it’s venomous claws into you and does not let you go until the shocking bittersweet finale.
And oh my God, what a finale!
With the heartbreaking devastation of a Shakespearean tragedy she obliterated the ending in this dark tale of obsession and violence and I absolutely hated how much I LOVED it!!
Right from the beginning reader’s are warned that this is a dark story and it is! But it is so much more, it is darker than night, more evil than the worst sin and an absolutely sensational adventure.
Lucy doesn’t have an easy family life with a drunken, violent father and a mother who stays accepting the abuse instead of leaving and supporting herself and her daughter. Lucy and Romeo are the best of friends in high school but bully Dominic, two years their senior, sets out to ruin even that for her.
Lucy Sommers, ah poor, poor Lucy! This girl has a heart of gold but has been given such a rotten deal in life. As you read you think to yourself, how much can a person take? Dominic Salvatore is an absolute pig of a character and that is putting it nicely! Romeo Sanchez is the most beautiful person, inside and out with such a caring, respectful attitude towards Lucy. All of these characters and others are described quite vividly making it extremely easy to visualise them as well as their actions.
There are a multitude of social issues raised in this book including racial and class prejudice, bullying and abuse in all forms. Each are dealt with clearly with no sugar coating, as it should be. This is without doubt a very dark story as I said but hope is still there continually throughout, making you desperately want Lucy to find some happiness.
I really like the split in the time allocation in the story, I’m not always a big fan of this style but it works really well in Neverland. As well, there are some clever twists and turns that keep you on your toes. This is a fast paced story and I found it to be a page turner, I almost feel this author wove a little bit a literacy sorcery where I didn’t want to put it down, feeling compelled to know Lucy’s outcome.
Neverland is a book that is going to stay with me for a long time, it has made a deep impression on me with its tragic storyline, kudos to this author.
When you call an author beautifully sadistic, you know their book has touched you, and not necessarily in a good way.
This book broke me, gave me hope, then broke me again. Definitely need tissues with this one. But so worth the read.
So well written and the characters are diverse not only in their points of view but in the charteristics that make them who they are.
Beautiful
As a reader I believe that if you read a book and it makes you feel nothing the book hasn’t done it’s job. A story that touches your heart or soul is one that stays with you for a long time.
The synopsis is deliberately vague and I loved that because a story should be a surprise it should unfurl like a flower and captivate you. There are so many emotions I felt, happiness despair anger love hope and oh how I hoped.
The story is an intense ride it’s suspense it’s obsession it’s absolutely amazing. There are no words to describe just how good it is however one thing I know 5 stars just isn’t enough.
Wow what did I just read. Melissa Jane does it again. She writes the perfect twisted book.
Some may say that everyone is given a chance at some point of your life. This isn’t the case for Lucy. She grew up with the cards stacked against her and throughout her whole life it doesn’t get any easier. This is about Lucy fighting to keep from turning into a monster. This is about Dominic who in his sadistic way Loves Lucy and does all he can to keep her. This is about Romeo who never stops thinking about Lucy who was torn from him at the beginning of their youth and has never stopped Loving her. If your looking for an ending that is happy, well that can be looked at a couple ways. Life isn’t always about the happy endings. Melissa will weave this story so well you won’t know what else will be around the corner..
I give this book 5+ stars.
Neverland by Melissa Jane I will start with this is such a good, addicting, and somewhat of a dark read. Neverland starts out sad but Lucy has such a strong will to not only live but survive, she never gives up and that keeps her going so much longer than most. Through the story you get flashbacks to when she was younger and first met Dominic and her friendship with Romeo. The story is told mainly from Lucy’s point of view, and you feel so bad for her, one can only endure so much. I read this story in one day I both loved and hated it, I was dreading the end though because there was so many ways it could go. I was not disappointed with the ending the story went out with a bang. Literally. I am looking forward to reading some more of Melissa Jane’s books.
DUDE, WHAT THE EVER LIVING H.E. DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS DID I JUST READ?!?!
I don’t even know how to review this because I can’t say anything about the book, I don’t want to ruin it for anyone and yet I want to scream from the roof tops that if you like to read a good “HOLY CRAP WHAT DID I JUST READ” book, this is the one for you.
huh, ummm yeah – so ummm let’s talk about the characters. They are quickly developed and we know who is “good” and who is “bad” from the get go. The story flows quickly and is told both in present and past tense giving much needed background along the way. It’s well plotted and I read it in one sitting because I just had to find out how it ended. I could NOT put it down because what if all the Kindles in the world erased overnight and Amazon crashed and I couldn’t get a hold of the book to find out how it ended. It would haunt me for the rest of my life, so I stayed up way past my bedtime to read the very last page.
I have read several other books that have left me feeling this exact same way and if you would like a recommendation, please feel free to reach out to me. If I could give this book 27 stars for being such a “mind (word censored but it starts with an eff and ends with a K)”, I would. Holy Moly.
Ok, that is all. Oh except, this book does contain violence and abuse and all sorts of dark stuff so if you are looking for a book that is light and fluffy, this isn’t it.
Is there a group somewhere to discuss this book with others who have read it? I need to talk about it to someone hahaha.
Neverland by Melissa Jane
5-stars
A beautiful yet tragic romance. Lucy has a hard life of abuse and just when she thinks she is out of it, she gets thrown back in. Dominic is obsessed with her and is jealous of people get to close to what is his. I honestly could not put this book down. It was full of heartbreaking events but the authors depiction of the story is magnificent. I was pulled in from the first chapter. There is a good amount of violence and abuse that takes place in the novel so readers who are bothered by that should not read this book.
5 Stars
“This is between you and me
An obsession, a hate, a jealousy
What you give, I so desire
Watch out for me, I’ll set your soul on fire.”
Neverland is a thrilling story by Melissa Jane. This is quite gripping story about a dark and twisted obsession that takes the reader on a chilling journey full of danger, shocking abuse, sweet love, heart-stopping details, bigotry, hopelessness, desperation, rage, deprivation, fear, secrets, threats, heartache, and mind boggling twists. I was definitely on the edge of my seat with this read- scrambling to keep up with what was going on and trying to figure out what would happen before anything was revealed. I failed miserably. I could not have predicted that outcome and am still reeling from that shocking ending!
I am not even going to try to cover what happens in the book, I think you really are best diving in and reading it blind. There is a reason the blurb is a little vague- and you’ll understand once you finish reading the story. This is definitely one of those “what the fu-dge did I just read” kind of books. It definitely isn’t a fluffy, heart-and-flowers read! So be warned. There are confronting situations, brutal scenes, sad and depressing elements that were all wrapped up in an intense and twisted tale of obsession and captivity. The story sucked the life right out of me, completely sucked me dry- BUT I’d do it all over again!!! The story twists and turns, and really kept me guessing as to how it would all play out. Melissa Jane tormented her character/s, put them trough the fires of hell- more than once!! I kept wondering how much more they would have to endure! Pulse pounding reading that’s for sure.
Be warned, this story is not for the feint of heart, it will definitely chew you up and spit you out! Melissa Jane is already on my “Must Read” authors list, and I’m now waiting expectantly for her next book
Thank you, Ms. Jane!
Neverland is not an easy story to read. It’s full of torment and sadness and unthinkable acts. This is the dark swirling abyss of the Underworld, the seedy underbelly, the lives of those from broken homes and bad circumstances. Right and wrong have no place here. So much evil in this one book. So much destruction. Tiny moments of hope that only get ripped away. If you are in the mood for mobsters, strippers, thugs, and more, read this. It made me sad and stressed and got my heart pumping.

Ahhh this book!!! I have spent ages trying to decide what to give it as star rating it has me all tied up – on one hand I was totally captivated by it, it was exciting, unpredictable, full of angst but that ending! Oh my gosh what is this author trying to do to me! This really was a brilliantly written story; I honestly could not put it down. The author has this amazing way of grabbing your attention straight away and not letting you out until the end, I was so immersed in the story that I didn’t see the twists and turns coming at all.
I think that this is one of those books that whatever I say will not do the book justice – it has to be read to be understood just how fantastic a read it was. This book should definitely be one-clicked today!!!
After reading two books by this author I cannot wait to read more from her again in the future.
NEVERLAND
By Melissa Jane
Neverland is a dark and twisted thriller by Melissa Jane. This is my second book by this author and I am glad I had the opportunity to read this book. I really like the writing style of this author, she gives you everything you could want in a book. This book also deals with some issues from racial and bullying in all forms that we deal with today. So please be aware of this before you start reading it. I don’t read many of this type of story, but I have to say that while its dark and twisted I really did enjoy it. Neverland deals with the life of Lucy who is a beautiful girl with a heart of gold, yet she doesn’t have the perfect life with her family. Her father is an abusive and yet her mother stays and puts up with his treatment. Wanted to grab this woman and save her from him and herself. So, if you want to escape into a world of darkness and suspense this is the book for you.
