All she wants is a friend. What’s wrong with that?Sure Jellica felt a smidge guilty for the money Greg Skyler spent on their date, but what did a man who wears sweater vests expect from a woman who wears crystals, burns sage, and teaches yoga? The two of them are never going to be the romance of the century. In fact, they have absolutely nothing in common. So why is Greg acting so surprised and … so surprised and hurt to hear she wants only to be friends?
Before her mind can sort it out, Greg’s sister is stalking her, his mother becomes her lawyer, and Greg starts bossing her around in the nicest way possible. Plus he’s still trying to kiss her. And he’s a really good kisser. Talk about confusing…
Sometimes nice guys—and girls—do finish first. And being friends and lovers is as perfect as you can get.

Another winner. Greg and Jellica’s relationship was not what you would call smooth sailing at the beginning. You got a real sense of some of the unease and uncertainty experienced during the early dating period. Their conversations were snarky and funny. Their friendship and chemistry was obvious.
Once again, I loved the fact that they were more mature and, both hesitant to put their toe in the dating pool. Greg’s mother was fiesty, strong, and fun. I hope she gets her own story.
This book was sexy, (not graphic), funny, sweet, and romantic. You get to revisit characters from the previous books. When you finish that last page, you will be left with a smile.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy.
Greg may look boring, but nothing could be farther from the truth. Especially when he is with Jelica. They bring out the best in each other, if only she could trust him and this feeling that he brings out in her. I love that their attraction was instant but the love came slowly and with just the right amount of angst. And humor. This was a truly delightful read.
Let me get this out of the way: I will NEVER look at a sweater vest the same way again! Jellica self describes herself as a ‘woo-woo’ woman, mostly because it is the only way folks will understand what she is about. At heart, she is a very down to earth, wonderful person – she tries to walk the high road and always find something good in a person. Having said that, she is really not up for this “perfect date thing” that she feels roped into by her friends. You will have to read her story as I cannot do it justice. Trust that she is strong, sweet, hard on herself, and has a biting sense of humor, even when it is directed towards herself. Her downfall is that she does not know how good and beautiful and successful she is. When you read about her sons, you’ll know they are proof of how all the good she has done with her life has worked out. Enter Greg Skyler, her date from the agency. He is a hoot! That is saying a lot because he is an accountant, wears a sweater vest (yes, that’s what I’m talking about!), and has a physique to make any woman pant. I loved his personality and sometimes felt badly for him as he had to work realllllllllllllllly hard to break down Jellica’s walls. I found the story funny, and sweet, and sad with all that has happened to these two, and I truly enjoyed their story. Jellica had to get it together, IMHO, as she was afraid to open up to Greg. Never fear, she figured it out! She did get to see Greg as a desirable man, and father figure, and it made the story very special. And Greg had to learn to trust as well but he did his very best to be there for Jellica when she really needed him. I really love this series! Characters from previous stories, Jellica’s friends, show up and are just as funny and feisty as they were in their own stories. I recommend!
