The rules for demon slaying are simple.Rule #2: Never trust a demon….Unless Heaven tries to kill you. It’s been four weeks since the birthday from Hell, and Lyn’s life is finally getting back to normal. Or as normal as it can be for a P.I. with the ability to see demons. Then Sam comes back.It seems the wicked, sexy, demon who shares her soul isn’t done using her. Good thing she’s determined to … isn’t done using her. Good thing she’s determined to end him. But when Heaven sends an angel to assassinate her, Lyn’s determination goes up in smoke.
Sam offers protection, but for how long and at what cost? And why the heck does The Big Man Upstairs want her dead?

Lyn (Evelyn) Conway is a Daughter of Eve, possessing a natural ability to see demons and other beings of the supernatural. She’s a paranormal investigator set on destroying demons.
Sam, a Greater demon, sexy hot, and is still bound to Lyn. Only now there’s more to the story of Sam, and that leaves Lyn in state of confusion. Quite the twist of fate for both of them.
J.D. Brown continues the ever-rising tension between Sam and Lyn, and now there’s even more as Lyn’s BFF, Angela, comes clean with her true identity. With all of the truths coming out between Sam, Angela, and other players in this story that I shall not name, Lyn’s life becomes compromised in more ways than one, like apocalyptic. As in the first book in this series, there’s plenty of action scenes, great plot twists, and a multitude of resonating tensions. The banter between story-stars continues to reek of it – which I adore in JD’s writing. Another page-turner, and I can’t wait for the next book in the Daughter of Eve series. Highly recommend.
Never Trust A Demon is Book 2 in the A Daughter Of Eve series. J.D. Brown’s imagination and way with words makes the story come alive. You feel as if you are there on this thrill ride with these wonderfully developed characters. It starts out with plenty of action and you keep turning pages to the last because you need to know what is going to happen next. I highly recommend this book and series. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I absolutely am in love with this series!! Book two picks up shortly after the events of the first book. The plot and the characters are so rich with such depth they really feel like they’re gonna jump right outta the book into real life. Lyn has a great blend of strength and humor. Angie her BFF is a wonderful blend of responsible friend and overprotective mom. Sam is deliciously complex. The lovely little twist with Lucifer, amazing!!! If you haven’t read these books, why?? Get your copies now you will not be sorry!
I received an ARC from the author. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
Loved this one. It was even better than the first as plot and characters become more developped. Excellent world building. Impossible to put down. I’m hooked on this series.
This is the second book in the Daughter of Eve series. I could not stop reading it once I got started. There is so much action and sober adventure. It took about five hours to read. The book is moderately paced and the storyline is excellent. I found the main characters memorable and I was able to identify with them. Lyn, her best friend Angie and Sam, the demon she is bonded to are the main focus. We also have a new character, Jackson, a police detective, who is attracted to Lyn but is working on Lolly’s murder case. There is something fishy about him but it is not exposed in this book. I find that Lyn is emotionally strong and is physically in shape. But recent events have caused her to be emotional sensitive since her great grandmother, Lolly, died, she still soldiers on. However, in this second book, Never Trust a Demon, Lyn is becoming more aware of her powers. Things reveal themselves to Lyn that made her realize that a lot of what she believed was a lie to coverup the truth of her ancestry. She has a hard time understanding all this new information and she withdraws from Angie and Sam. Then the truth about Angie and Sam are revealed and Lyn gets away from them so she can think. By now heaven and hell have decided to go after Lyn for different reasons. Angie and Sam are keeping Lyn from harm and probable death. Lyn does not know why some want her dead and others want to use her. Apparently, she is the key to something she is unsure of what it is. This ends with a cliffhanger (sad face). I can’t wait for the next book.
Awesome continuation of a new, exciting series by J. D. Brown! I love the way this girl writes! The story sucks you in and is hard to put down!
An epic continuation of the Daughters Of Eve series! So much action and adventure, and such a different perspective about Angels and Demons! When J.D. describes the Angel and Demons – the image is so vivid that you can practically see them standing in front of you! And, once again, an ending that leaves you dying for more! I couldn’t put this book down and I can’t wait for book three!!
I read a complimentary copy of this book and I chose to leave an honest review.
