Beautifully crafted story of a romance between a sweet small town beauty and a jaded billionaire. The sparks fly when they meet and rest points to heat, romance, heartache and eventually a happy ending. Initially the story seemed little slow but I was dragged into it soon after the two characters meet. Although it starts out in a small town, it doesn’t stop there. The story will keep making you turning pages. Looking forward to next book in the series.
I enjoyed reading this well written and vibrantly descriptive story about Molly King of an English village and Jake Hennessey of London. Both opposites of each other in their lifestyles but have true feelings for each other yet are doubtful and uncertain whether the other can really be theirs. I really enjoyed the strength that Molly exhibits towards the end to obtain what she truly deserves! My kind of strong woman!!!
Read it, you’ll enjoy it!
When I first picked this book up and started reading, I honestly thought that it was a historical romance novel. Not sure if that is good or bad but this book is totally NOT a historical romance. I was super confused when one of the characters started talking about email and then I had to go back and reread the first part of the book and wonder if I had missed some flashing indicator that told me this book was taking place in the now.
I liked this book … I thought the characters were good and I really liked the idea behind the story. That was all good. What wasn’t all good was how wordy I thought this book was. I understand wanting to weave this story and the more details the better because that means everything was fleshed out. Got it. But this was beyond that. There was just too much. Too much dead time in the story because of all of these extra words and that brought my excitement for the story way down.
It was actually kind of sad. I LOVED the romance between Jake and Molly. I liked the push and pull that was going on between them and let’s just be honest … Jake was awesome. He was bossy and sexy and romantic and sweet and I just couldn’t get enough of him. Molly was also great. But the words between them on the pages became oceans and then it was just too much for me to overcome.
The ending came as a bit of a surprise … the rest of the book was strung along with all of these extra descriptions and words and then you get to the end of the book and it was very cut and dry and there was no beating around the bush for that last part! It was straight to the point almost as if one person edited everything in the book except the last few pages and another person did that part. It was weird! I wish the entire book was written as the last part was.
I liked the book, I just wish that it moved at a more steady pace so that it would keep my interest. Dang it. The characters were so great! I hate that it turned out like this.
