I’ve read and listened to this book a thousand times while writing my FBI negotiator series. More than that, it teaches people methods for getting what they want. It’s entertaining and informative and I’ll be listening again before I write the next book!
Game changed as I listened to the audio book 4 times! It has helped me win small and big negotiations and at the same time the other guy feels they won!!!! Simply an Amazing book!
When you want to walk away with tried and tested tips on negotiating, this is the book to read. Very insightful, great stories, practical advice.
This book was a fascinating look at negotiation strategies. I have read various books over the years, including “Getting to Yes” the most well-known book in the field. In “Never Split the Difference” Chris Voss explains many of the challenges I have experienced applying conventional techniques and provides effective strategies for overcoming these challenges. By explaining what to do, how to do it, and explaining the psychology involved, he creates a foundation to build from. I have found myself automatically applying the strategies at both work and home. I highly recommend this book.
A great book about sales! I love human behavior.
This is one of the better negotiations books I’ve read. More strategic vs tactical.
I like books I can use. This book had a lot of great information that can be developed into habits. Voss illustrates each principle with an entertaining example, but you can easily see how they fit with everyday situations, too. Highly recommended!
One of the best books about selling and negotiating. Full of hands-on advice on how to influence situations, with memorable real life examples.
Feel like you know everything about negotiating or want to improve on the art of negotiation? Pick up Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss. As one of the venerable FBI hostage negotiators who has ran the gamut of terrorism and hostage cases in his decorated career, Voss lays the groundwork for the techniques he learned from admission of both successes and failures. Intertwined with his methods are authentic case studies of how he used his skillset to diffuse his suspects, defuse the tensest of situations, and penultimately how he became one of the subject matter expert of his field. The book itself is concise in a manner where it could be read in pieces and practiced before taking the next step to fully enrich oneself in the art of negotiation. Yet, it gives the perspective that whether you’re a master negotiator or a novice, that negotiation is an art form that requires immense practice and learning from an expert such as Voss is wholly not a bad idea. It could save your life, your job, or even your marriage.
Info that I have been waiting my entire life to read.
Very practical advice that I have been able to apply in my daily life with roommates and coworkers. Read (listened) to the book cover to cover twice in the week I got it.
This is an amazing book written with awe inspiring stories and lessons from real negotiations that we can apply to every day life.
Action packed, information packed, and part memoir this is one of those books I’ll read again and again to mine all the gems out of it I can.
