…If a kickass middle-aged bookkeeper got sucked into a spy’s life… troubles are over. But Kane’s investigation implicates her in a techno-espionage plot, and criminal charges become the least of her worries when she finds herself in the crosshairs of the same dangerous group Kane suspects her of aiding.
Armed with only her analytical mind, a warped sense of humour, and a penchant for profanity, Aydan faces off against international spies and an RCMP officer who’s not what he seems.
Pity her enemies. Because nobody’s tougher than a middle-aged woman who wants her dream back.

Thrillers with humour and heart
Contains coarse language, moderate violence, and sexuality. The story can stand alone but will be more enjoyable if the series is read in order.
“Fierce and fantastic – a totally different type of heroine who keeps you clinging to the edge of your seat!”
If Janet Evanovich’s quirky humour met Robert Ludlum’s taut thrillers, the Never Say Spy series would be their love child: racy, fun, and action-packed.

Different story line, gripping but easy to read
I really enjoyed this book. Kept me engaged and entertained on a long flight from East to West Coast. A very different kind of spy novel with an intriguing heroine. Fun, interesting, dynamic characters. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.
This is book 1 (definitely read in order) a combination tough woman mystery and alternative reality thriller. These are the kind of books that keep you up late into the night reading. Each book gets more complicated, so if you are a tech type person you can probably jump to The Spy is Cast, but you will miss out on some good stuff too. Read this …
Good
I think the books in this series became better around the 3rd book, when they kept fighting that whole I am not a spy thing. That was a little too repetitive in the first book.
This accidental spy novel has a lot going for it. The heroine is a feisty woman in her late forties with an unusual array of skills and habits that are very helpful for the amateur spy. She can shoot a gun, she’s unusually aware of the space about her checking automatically for threats, and she’s decisively aggressive when the situation demands …
Unrealistic
Pretty solid writing and an interesting science twist at the heart of it. I kept expecting another surprise at the end and am glad I incorrectly guessed. I good read with a nice mix of action and mystery.
fun book to read. very entertaining
Engrossing and funny. Our heroine is realistic and her adventures are entertaining.
This series is based on science that isn’t reality, I don’t think. It’s woven so well into the story that it seems perfectly plausible. A few steamy sex scenes, but nothing overt.
Main protagonist Aydan is very funny and has no filter.
Some of the things that happened to the main character were pretty goofy – but was an entertaining light read.
ODD BUT GOOD
Action packed, kept me guessing
I would give it a 5 if not so explicit. I really enjoyed it otherwise
What a great story line, it had me hooked from the beginning and I had to keep reading until the end. That was one late night!
So different from other books. I loved the main character and he brilliant sense of humour. I can’t wait to carry on reading the other books.
The book will keep you reading with all the twists and turns and its brilliant …
Wow, great story. Grabs you and doesn’t let go Wow, till you finish the book. Loved Aydan and her spunk.
The plot was very slow. I had trouble differentiating between when main character was in current time or when she was in the network/virtual reality.
I honestly was not sure what this was about when I downloaded it but hey it was free.
I fell in love with the character of Aydan Kelly within minutes. As a guy reading a book written by a woman (sorry Diane :)) I was worried it would turn into a “mills and boon” type of story and thankfully it didn’t. Yes, I know I sound sexist but hey I am a …
