This story was steaming hot. The opening line “I was a thief of men…a whore.” drew me right in and Nadine’s story captivated me. What would we learn about this woman who so easily took what might not belong to her and then moved on to the next. Liberated is how she lived her life. Until that fateful trip. She would meet her match in Spencer and the push and pull of the days that follow bring us closer to knowing what drives them to be who and what they are. Not the easiest of fluffy stories but worth the read.
Not for me
I really couldn’t get into this one . I tried but it just wasn’t for me .
Nadine is a beautiful but insecure naive sex addictive – afraid of commitment and refuses to get caught up in any feelings for any man . For this reason she hooks up with already attached guys for one night stands and send them packing . A cheater (first strike for me )
She and her friend decide to go on a spontaneous trip to the ocean where they meet Spencer – their starts a bit rocky but they spend the vacation together and decide to call it quits when the break is over …
Nadine has her reasons for what she does but I don’t know I didn’t connect .
I ended up skimming parts and then giving up towards the end .
This is my first book by Kate Stewart and it definitely won’t be my last!! I was a little hesitant by reading the blurb, wasn’t sure it was my cup of tea but I LOVED it! The characters, the plot, the writing…freaking LOVED it!
It’s no secret that I’m a huge Kate Stewart fan…..I love her. And seriously, after reading Never Me, I love her even more. This book was amazing. Such a fantastic story of love, friendship, self-discovery, even heartbreak. I can’t say enough good things about this book. I found myself wishing I was Nadine while reading – having a friend like Rory, taking an amazing road trip, making new friends, falling in love……sounds like a great time to me. And Spencer – love that guy. I won’t spoil it for you, but he’s incredible.
It’s official! After reading all of Kate Stewart’s books I can easily say she’s one my favorite authors. She kills me every time and I take pleasure in it, because I have faith in her and her writing. No matter how unappealing or flawed her heroine/hero is or the how story takes its twist and turns, I know it will all be worth it.
Nadine definitely had her flaws and insecurities. She had her own ways to get laid. The attached and unavailable, so she could get rid of them without no expectations for more. I was actually intrigued by her ways and her views on sex and let’s not forget herself. Her friendship with Rory was beautiful and honest.
I loved their road trip and what it lead them to. The four other people they met was as important as they were. I immersed myself in their joy and adventures.
Her involvement with Spencer consumed me and I loved the change her brought out of Nadine. As much as Nadine frustrated me with her attitude and wrong ways, I also enjoyed it because I could feel the turmoil and change she was going through within herself.
This was a different love story but beautiful none the less. I loved every single character and their story. Kate Stewart is an expert in creating complex and flawed characters and then making them likable and relatable.
This is why I love reading. To escape in the story and its characters. Loose myself and follow wherever it takes me.

I thought this was a different take on a girl who identifies herself as a whore. Nadine is a girl that will only sleep with a guy once and the more of a challenge he is the better. The opening is her trying to bed a man who has a girlfriend. It is a story about games and the girl she portrays.
For a heavily sexual romance book, it was actually written and edited very well. If you read romances that are part of Kindle Unlimited than you know that many times it is not written very well. In fact, it is usually rushed and no more than 50,00 words. This book is not like that. Never Me has a great plot and characters. The development and delivery are fluid and spectacular. The biggest thing that bothered me was the ending. I thought it should have ended a few chapters sooner. It reminded me of Gone With The Wind; every time you thought it was over it wasn’t and then when it does end you are left with some questions.
Overall, I enjoyed it.
