The author of Still Missing targets her readership with a novel that hits all the notes they come to expect from her and ratchets up the stakes even more. Lindsey Nash has left an abusive relationship and her ex-husband was sent to jail. She has started over with a new life, her own business, and a teenage daughter who needs her more than ever. When her husband is finally released, Lindsey … Lindsey believes she has cut all ties. There is no way he can ever find her and her daughter again. But she gets the sense that someone is watching her, tracking her every move. Her new boyfriend is threatened. Her home is invaded. Even her daughter is shadowed. Lindsey is convinced it’s her ex-husband, even though he claims he is a different person and doesn’t want to do her any harm. But can he really change? Is the one who wants her dead even closer to home than she thought?”

Okay, this was really good.
I like books where I think I know the score and feel all smug and then I get smacked into place.
I will say I guessed the “who” really early but this one was all about “why” so it was still a fantastic read, or in this case, listen.
***By the way, I recommend NOT going with the audio version of this one and just reading it because the actress who narrated the daughter? Excruciating.
But that’s not Chevy’s fault so still 4 stars.
A truly brilliant thriller about obsessive love and manipulation, this is taut novel with a serious sense of menace. Loved it!
There reaches a point for me in reading a really good book, where the story becomes either unforgettable or just really good. The difference between a 4 star and a 5 star. I loved this book for a 4 star experience, yet it’s not quite the 5 star read of “Still Missing”. I read “Never Let You Go” in 2 sittings, which makes for a gripping read, but the men in the book, while diversely interesting, don’t feel fully developed, however, all praise for the development of Lindsey and particularly her daughter, Sophie, whose teenage angst and naivete is very compelling. There’s plenty of suspense, emotional roller coaster action and a fantastic denouement. All the hallmarks of an excellent story. Now a fan of Chevy Stevens, I will definitely read more of her books. Highly recommended.
This author is amazing! She is one of my favorite authors and i totally recommend this book!

My new favorite book!!!! A must read if you like suspense!!!!
This is the first book I read by this author. I did enjoy it although I found it slow in some places. I will be trying another one by CS.
Great books -love this author
I absolutely loved Stevens’ debut novel, Still Missing. This novel was a bit evocative of Sleeping with the Enemy, another favorite thriller of mine, yet it was still original. I plan to catch up with all the other Chevy Stevens books I have missed! (Retirement is wonderful…)
Another masterpiece from Chevy Stevens that will leave you guessing until the end. Stevens does a wonderful job of creating a cast of characters that the reader feels invested in. This was a true page-turner.
I really enjoyed the suspense in this story. Just when I thought I’d figured out who was stalking the central character, I was proved wrong. The author did a great job in leading the reader down one path, only to abruptly switch gears. Very well-written book.
When Lindsey Nash met her husband she thought she had met her knight in shining armor, but soon after they were married he started to show his true colors, and she found that he was nothing like the man she thought she married. He spent his nights trying to find the bottom of the bottle, and it brought out an angry, possessive man that wasn’t above getting a little rough to get his point across, and more times than not Lindsey found herself taking the brunt of it. Being abused by her husband left her ashamed and scared to confide in anyone about what was happening since it was likely to bring about more abuse, but finally after enduring years of it she found the courage to speak up, and tell her brother what was happening, and from there he helped her devise a plan to break away from this miserable world she found herself stuck in… but her husband wasn’t about to let her and their young daughter get a way so easily. Soon after leaving him he winds up in jail and for the first time in a long time Lindsey starts to feel like she can breath a sigh of relief, her and her daughter then enjoy eleven years of freedom from him. But the happy little life they have created for themselves is now in jeopardy, he is being released from prison and Lindsey is certain she is about to pay for the last eleven years he spent behind bars…
It has been a while since I have read something that completely captivated my attention the way this one did, from the very first page I was hooked, it was SO addictive!!! This was my first read from this author and I have to say she totally lured me in with her gripping tale, I was teetering on the edge of my seat the whole way through!! It is definitely one of the best mystery’s I have had the pleasure of reading this year!!
This spine tingling little tale will reach out and grab you, have you on the edge of your seat gasping for your next breath, and keep you guessing right up and until the very last page!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
My book club enjoyed this mystery as much as I did, Surprise ending.
Absolutelya amazing!! Just finished yesterday. Couldn’t set it down! Only took 3 nights of reading!
4 stars down to 3 for the audio version, because the performance was laughably 1-star awful. Nails on a chalkboard awful.
I wanted to love this book, but the narration KILLED it for me. The voice of Lindsey, the abused wife, was merely bad. But the voice of Sophie, her daughter? Truly worse than those videos where they mock how dreadful porn acting can be. Seriously, a fourth-grader reading it cold could have done a better job. The moral of this story: read all the reviews before deciding which format to enjoy, and listen when they tell you to step away from the earbuds.
As for the written word, we meet Lindsey and she’s in a bad marriage with Andrew. We jump back to when they met, we jump forward to where she plans to leave, we get to see the big picture from many angles. While the construction of the story was okay, by 20% in I was already growing weary of Lindsey’s constant ruminations. I get it, she was scared and frustrated, but all the inner and frantic “how am I going to pull this off?” stuff got old. And yes, this went on for the remainder of the book. It was difficult to endure.
I did find the overall story compelling, and the message of empowerment for women in bad relationships to be worthwhile. But I will blacklist the narrators used for this book, and assume I need to read the printed word for any future Chevy Stevens novels.
