In this fast-paced and emotional page-turner, bestselling author Elizabeth Goddard keeps the stakes high, the romantic tension sparking, and the outcome uncertain until the very end.

Fantastic story, gripping suspense, and a great romance! An all around excellent read!
Willow and Austin have a history. She’s just been through a traumatic experience. He’s there at the request of her late grandfather. The danger and clues keep him there. The book takes us to the beautiful country surrounding the Tetons. As beautiful as the setting, the area is filled with danger at every turn for Austin and Willow. They have a case to solve. It was a unique investigation too. Genetic Investigation. I enjoyed learning and liked this storyline. Definitely a book I’d recommend. I received a copy of the book from the publisher. I also bought a copy. All views stated are my own.
Is it too late to find the girl? Is it too late for them?
I’ve really been looking forward to Elizabeth Goddard’s first foray into full-length romantic suspense novels since I first heard several months ago that it would be releasing. Some authors have difficulty switching from either short to long stories or long to short stories, Elizabeth Goddard had no such trouble with Never Let Go. Exciting, spine-tingling, and definitely action-packed, from the very start, this book was a great start to the Uncommon Justice series.
As a person fascinated by family history from a very young age, I found the heroine’s profession to be unusual and perfectly intriguing. I had heard of genealogists before but the term ‘forensic genealogist’ was a new one to me.
I sincerely enjoyed Never Let Go, from the dramatic cover to the very last paragraph. The characters are engaging, the mystery is engrossing, the settings are striking, and the back-and-forth tug of romance between Willow and Austin is just right. Not to mention the elements of faith woven throughout the story are a perfect complement to the backdrop intrigue fraught with danger.
Whether you love the Elizabeth Goddard’s shorter books or just romantic suspense in general, Never Let Go is a MUST read. Don’t miss a single page!
(I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
This is the first novel I have read by Elizabeth Goddard and it definitely won’t be the last. Never let Go is the first in the Uncommon Justice series.
One of the most interesting parts of the story to me was the fact that Willow, the main character, was a forensic genealogist. I was not aware of such a career so I found that quite fascinating. After her grandfather dies, Willow takes on one of his cases which involved finding the missing child of a woman who was dying. Her dream was to meet the daughter who had gone missing from the hospital right after she was born twenty-one years ago. This case definitely had it’s challenges and through a series of page-turning events, it became quite obvious someone did not want Willow to track down this missing person and was willing to do whatever it took to keep Willow from finding the answers she was looking for. In addition to the edge of your seat suspense, the story came with romance as well. Austin, Willow’s ex boyfriend, is the person who ends up helping her search for the missing girl. Can they move past the past to have a future together and will they find the missing girl in time? You’ll have to read to find out.
I was given a copy of this novel from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Forensic genealogist Willow Anderson and her old flame ex-FBI agent Austin McKade embark on a dangerous adventure trying to find a baby girl who was abducted 21 years previously. Willow’s grandfather was hired by a woman dying from cancer to find her lost baby girl. With his sudden death, Willow and Austin take over and travel all the way from Seattle to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Will they find the girl, survive, and possibly find their way back to each other? There is only one way to find out!
I loved this book so much. I’ll admit that I’m a big fan of Elizabeth Goddard. I’ve read most of her books and with each book I love her more and more. This is no exception. She has a gift for taking her readers on a very intense wild ride filled with so much suspense that you are on the edge of your seat the whole time. She also knows how to weave in romance and spirituality that leaves you feeling hopeful despite the never-ending setbacks. Her books are filled with grace and redemption. This one is no exception. I loved getting to know Willow and Austin. They each had flaws, but together they make such an amazing team and love story. You definitely root for this couple to begin again. I also loved that it was set mainly in Wyoming! I have a thing for Wyoming. It made the story complete! I really think if you are looking for a clean christian suspense with some romance then this is the book for you. I’d love for this to become a movie. I can’t wait for book 2. What a great start for a wonderful series!
What an incredible story of action and suspense!
I have just added Elizabeth Goddard to my list of favorite suspense authors!
This book was so good. It is the first I’ve read of hers, but it definitely won’t be the last!
I loved the storyline. The characters. All of it.
Willow is a forensic genealogist. (What even is that?!)
She worked with her beloved grandfather, and now he died and she is left picking up the pieces of their joint business and trying to continue.
The one unfinished case is an FBI cold case. Looking for a young woman who was abducted from her mother right after birth, only it happened 20 years ago.
When she starts being threatened, she realizes that someone out there is afraid she is going to discover the truth.
But who?
And then there’s Austin. Willow’s ex-boyfriend. He has skills to help her. In fact, her grandfather had reached out to him before his death, hiring him to help on this particular case.
Can Willow handle spending time with him again?
I love, loved this story. The author kept me guessing the entire time.
It was action-packed and suspense filled the whole way through!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Willow Anderson was raised by her grandfather after she lost both her parents in an accident. He taught her about faith as well as being a forensic genealogist. Now, Willow has recently lost her grandfather. With only one case remaining open, she plans to notify the person and close the business. That is, until her life is threatened, and danger lurks in the shadows!
With her grandfather already having asked Austin McKade to assist in this cold case, Willow must ask Austin to just leave and stay away. Why? Willow and Austin have a past, and with her life always in danger she wants to handle it alone even though Austin has the skills to help solve the cold case. But will either of them live to do so?
These characters are trying to keep each other from breaking their heart again, and yet work together as her grandfather wanted. Throughout the novel, Elizabeth Goddard weaves various threads of the 20-year-old cold case together in such a way that putting the book down became almost impossible! There were times I thought I figured out what or who the nefarious players were, but when a twist in the plot was introduced, I started rethinking my guess!
The story is not just about a cold case or an ex-flame but also about revealing how each of the past years of life experience affects the present. The novel was very enjoyable to read, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! What is also fun is waiting for the second novel to be released in Fall of 2019. Grab a copy, read and share it with family and friends so you’re ready when the next installment comes out!
This was a new author to me. I think it is the author’s first trade paperback book, having written mass market paperbacks in the Love Inspired Suspense line of books. I had the chance to join the launch team for the book, and jumped at the chance since it sounded good and I like Christian suspense.
The forensic genealogist was a new one to me, and one I found interesting.
Characters are important to me, and I really liked Willow and Austin. The story pretty much focused equally on both, especially with Austin’s past and his dealing..or not dealing with it. It looks like each book in this series is going to center on each of 3 brothers, which begs the question to why there are women on the books instead of guys……hey, I am a guy, of course I’d wonder 🙂
Christian suspense is my favorite genre’ to read, and Goddard brought it in spades. This is not one of those books where you go a few chapters before something exciting happens. The exciting and suspenseful parts happen a lot. This was a book that once I started reading it, I didn’t want to put it down. Unfortunately the day I started it, I read it on my breaks at work, so I had to put it down…..but finished it that evening at home.
I even enjoyed the romantic aspect of the story. This was a book where the couple had dated before, but had broken up….a bad break up, but now are working together. You know they will get back together, but it is fun and entertaining to watch how it happens.
If this is an example of Goddard’s writing, I am hooked and want to read more by her. I really liked the book, all parts of it: plot, setting, romance, suspense, drama, investigating techniques, etc. It wound down to a suspenseful and satisfying climax, and only left me wanting more, and looking forward to the next book in the story: Austin’s brother Heath’s story. (Again, the dude should be on the cover if it is his story) 🙂
This is a book and author I can honestly recommend, and deserves every one of the possible 5 stars possible.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard is the first book in her Uncommon Justice series and a wonderful start to a new series. I will most definitely be looking forward to reading more books in this series.
Willow Anderson is still reeling from her grandfather’s death when she becomes plagued by near death accidents. She soon realizes they are all related to the last job her grandfather was working on, a twenty year old cold case involving a kidnapped baby that the FBI and local law enforcement hadn’t been able to solve.
Austin McKade is willing to take on the job of finding this missing young woman only because he realizes that Willow’s life is in danger and he had walked away from her once, he’s not going to do it again.
I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
Awesome start to this new suspense series! Loved the characters and can’t wait for the next book! Highly recommend!
Never Let Go was an exciting and intense nail-biter that was hard to put down. It features one of the most attention-grabbing prologues in recent memory. I was instantly invested in the story and had to reach the conclusion as quick as possible.
Willow’s job as a forensic genealogist was so interesting. I loved learning about all that goes into that career. It’s so fascinating!
This was the first book I’ve read by this author and wow, was it good or what! I’m anxious for the next book in the series! I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.
So, this is the first book I have ever read from this author. I was impressed, the story did not slow down much, and when it did those time were still pretty intense just wondering what was going to happen next. The story line was well written and keeps read wondering who did what. Early on I thought “oh this book is so predictable and I know who done it” in the end I was completely wrong. In the end I wanted a little more about Willow,Austin, Charlie, and Heath and what is next for them, then I realized this was a series so I sure I haven’t heard the last of them. I hope to also hear more of Charile’s story as well. Over all this book was a clean read and suitable for all.

Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard is the first book in her Uncommon Justice series. Willow Anderson is a Forensic Genealogist following in her grandfather’s footsteps. Trying to solve a twenty-year-old cold case puts her life in jeopardy. Ex-FBI agent, Austin McKade offers to protect and help Willow in her search for answers. From the heart-wrenching open scene to the climatic last page the author kept you turning the page for more. I didn’t want the story to end; even though I stayed up way too late finishing it! I can’t wait for the next installment. I loved how Willow wanted/needed answers from Austin but she didn’t push him. She gave him space to talk when he was ready. I would highly recommend this book.
I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
Whatever you do, don’t bypass the prologue. The prologue thrusts you into the middle of the action and builds immediate suspense. The tension doesn’t let up until the end of the book. A crime is committed when the unthinkable happens. A newborn is abducted from the hospital.
That alone should pique your interest. Years pass and none of the investigators the mother hired produced any results. The mother refuses to believe her daughter is dead. She never stops searching for her baby.
Willow Anderson works as a Forensic Genealogist with her grandfather’s business, Anderson Consulting. Her grandfather was murdered after he agreed to investigate the kidnapping of an infant over twenty years ago. Before his death, he asked Austin McKade, a private investigator, to assist with the case. Willow must continue the search for her grandfather, but she’s frustrated when Austin shows up.
Without giving away too much of the story, Willow and Austin struggle with a past relationship that didn’t work out, causing more tension. But now that Willow’s grandfather had involved Austin in the case, the two must join forces and work together in order to search for the missing girl.
Willow’s life is threatened when she receives warnings to stop the search, which makes her even more determined to see it through. She must fulfill her grandfather’s wishes regardless of the risks.
All the unexpected twists in Never Let Go will keep you guessing who killed Willow’s grandfather and who is determined to stop Willow and Austin.
Super book! It’s a must read!

I am always on the hunt for more romantic suspense authors and books! Never Let Go was my first Elizabeth Goddard book and I really enjoyed it. I was hooked by this story at the prologue! The cold case aspect of this story was really intriguing and it gave Austin and Willow a common goal, allowing them to interact without the situation seeming forced or contrived. I enjoyed the sparks of romance between the characters and also liked that they shared a history that they had to address before they could move forward. Their obstacles as a couple were directly related to issues from the past which gave a lot of insight into their characters and made them seem really genuine. Sometimes I find that romance in suspense books can be instant and unrealistic however, Austin and Willow’s story was easy to read, easy to root for, and it was believable because of their past relationship. The suspense in this book really hit another notch as the story neared its conclusion. I was really guessing until the end of this book! And there were several nail biting incidents that I totally did not see coming. All in all I felt like this was a really solid romantic suspense book and I am super excited to have another author to add to my must read list! I will definitely be anticipating more novels from Elizabeth Goddard!
I started off totally into the book. It captured my interest and kept me intrigued. Initially Everyone in my mind was a suspect, except for the two main characters. Plus, the twist at the end was… wow.
Willow and Austin once dated and join back together after Willow’s grandfather’s death to solve a mystery that her grandfather had just started. Quite a few traumatic events occur while Willow is investigating the mystery of a baby girl who was abducted from the hospital 21 years prior. They travel to Wyoming to unravel a potential thread that had not been accounted for in the previous investigations.
As I said, I loved the first part of the book. It kept me interested and I was able to keep, for the most part, all the characters in line. That is, until the end of the book. Elizabeth did a great job in developing the characters and growing to the point of the book where there was the discovery. However, my main complaint is that the end of the book just felt so rushed. There was so much pertinent information being given, that I wish that there had been more time to spend on developing it in a better reading format.
While I enjoyed the outcome of the book, I just wish that it had approached the end, writing wise, in a better manner.
The publisher has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book or advanced reading copy.
Goddard, a new to me author, has caught my attention with her recently released book, Never Let Go, and the first in her new Uncommon Justice series. After reading this first installment, I am invested in this series and will be seeing it through to the end.
While the beginning started a little slow for me, boy did she crank it up by just a few chapters in with a steady pace full of twists and turns and an ending that left me thinking, “Wow, I DID NOT see THAT coming!” Both Willow and Austin are characters that are endearing. I loved how Goddard slowly gave their backstories like slowly blossoming petals of a rose…beautiful and multi-layered. Austin’s brother, Heath, is an integral part of this story and we get to see the focus on him in the next book, Always Look Twice.
So, I highly recommend you purchase Never Let Go like right now and be on the lookout for Always Look Twice later this year.
*I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher. All opinions stated here are my own.
This story was riveting and kept my interest from beginning to end! I loved the main characters Willow and Austin as they worked together to figure out what happened to Willow‘s grandfather and a cold case regarding a missing baby 20 years prior. Lots of twists and surprises!
Lots of action and some romance. I liked reading about their faith, their struggles and how they tried to reconcile with family. I highly recommend this first book of this new series!
I can’t wait to read book 2 which will be all about Heath, Austin’s brother, who is a secondary character in this story.
I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.
Willow and Austin’s complex relationship made my heart accelerate and sent my matchmaking hopes into overdrive! Willow’s story is heartbreaking yet the fact that she simply keeps putting one foot in front of the other (despite the fog of her often overwhelming grief) is truly inspiring. Willow is obviously intelligent and I admire her quick and analytical thinking.
Austin is a tough guy hero with baggage, regrets, and a vulnerable core (which makes him and frankly most men super uncomfortable and usually cranky). His protective instincts are locked into hyperdrive from beginning to end and who can resist that level of intense sustained focus?! Woo, that man is swoony!
You can bet your tree branches I’ll be checking out Elizabeth Goddard’s backlist while I eagerly anticipate the next installment of the Uncommon Justice series! Consider me wowed! I highly recommend this title for readers who enjoy action-packed romantic suspense, this story delivers!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.
Woo-wee! When I marked this book for my I want to read this one list last June, I never dreamed the ride I would experience while reading Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard, the first in her new series Uncommon Justice.
Willow Anderson is a forensic genealogist who undertakes completing her grandfather’s last case he started before his tragic death. The case is finding out who abducted a baby from a hospital room, right under the watchful mother’s eyes, more than 20 years ago. When someone attempts to kill her, Willow is not deterred, only more determined.
Austin McKade is a former FBI agent, and Willow’s ex-boyfriend, becomes Willow’s guard, tasked with keeping her alive while someone is determined to stop the investigation.
As the danger increases, old feelings heat up…
Really loved Never Let Go! It is unputdownable.
