STRANDED ON AN ISLAND WITH A ROCKSTAR?Fine, I’ll volunteer.Luce thinks Ollie Mills is obnoxious, frustrating, and full of himself. The only thing the bassist of the world famous rock band, Sunset Revival, cares about is a good time and the next woman in his bed. So of all people to be stranded on a deserted island with, Luce can’t believe it has to be him.Ollie has been crushing on Luce … him.
Ollie has been crushing on Luce Winchester for months. Finally, finally, she agrees to come stay with him. Well, it’s a visit out of desperation, but he’ll take whatever he can get from this woman. When they get kidnapped and stranded on a random island thanks to a psychotic fan, it’s hardly the first date Ollie had in mind. But there’s more to this devilishly handsome rocker than meets the eye. He’s resourceful, protective, and maybe, just maybe, he can prove to Luce he’s a bet she should take.
In the end will Luce choose to stay with Ollie or leave her love-struck rockstar behind?
*NEVER LEAVE A ROCKSTAR can be read as a standalone, or it can be read as the fourth and final book in Sarah Darlington’s NEVER TRUST Series.

I was really looking forward to reading Ollie’s story because underneath that playboy persona he has I just knew was a great guy with some issues that just needed to be told. In earlier books when we have met Ollie he came off as an arrogant jerk who only had one thing on his mind and while this is still kind of true, once he and Luce develop their friendship he knows deep down he wants to change his ways and become more for himself and Luce. Luce was a tough chick that had friends but even from them and her family she kept things close to the vest because she was scared of letting anyone in until Ollie, the very last person who she should let in she becomes close to and they tell each other everything. Once they develop this weird sort of friendship, they endure so much together like being stranded on an island together, learning to trust each other, and depending on each other but their insecurities keep them from getting too close. After they escape their predicament, they go their separate ways only to realize they have somehow fallen for each other and don’t want to let that go. I loved that Ollie found his redemption in Luce and she found her happy in him, but one thing that bothered me the most was how their families were so incredibly rude to them in front of the other and didn’t even bother to act concerned that they had to survive almost a week and almost died on a secluded island. Their families treated Ollie with disdain, even his own family, they acted like he was a child that didn’t deserve their attention and that his past was unforgivable that he didn’t deserve to explain his situation. Emma made me mad at the way she went off on Luce and still didn’t apologize for her behavior towards Ollie even though he apologizes for his, I thought she was a sweet and cute character in her book but in this one she came off as rude and not supportive of her aunt at all. Also, the quick conclusion to the crazy chick was a little too fast and even though she was insane she seemed to suddenly be understanding and walked away. All in all, this has been a great series just a few hits or misses when it came to family ties.
4.5 Cranky Stars
I was waiting for Ollies story for a while. I just knew deep down who he portrayed himself to be wasn’t who he really was at his core. The life of the party Romeo of the band who had ladies throwing themselves at him and him going along with it. Luce was struggling with a major life altering decision. She too hid behind a certain persona portraying this woman who was tough as nails when inside she was scared. I was so glad to get their story. I’ve followed this series from book one and it’s taken a bit to get here but Ollie and Luce didn’t disappoint.
Oliver “Ollie” is a bassist for Sunset Revival the band his in with his brother and cousin. Public Ollie is nowhere near private Ollie. He loves them and leaves them, but one woman is on his mind and that’s Luce. She is the aunt to Emma his brother’s girlfriend. He knows that Luce is eight years older than him, but he can’t stop thinking about her. When he is presented with an opportunity to help her get out of town, he invites her onto his yacht and that’s where trouble ensues. They slowly learn to rely on each other and discover bits and pieces of who they truly are at their core. Luce hates Ollie or so she thinks. He isn’t the typical guy she would ever go for but why is he looking so damn appealing to her? She is dealing with some major life changing decisions and when her crush is about to get married, she fakes a trip she claims she won and heads out with Ollie. Their time on the boat doesn’t go as planned and it goes downhill from there. Luce must face her destiny head on and not try to push Ollie away.
I could go on about their adventures and what lead to their coming together but that would be a spoiler. Just know that they go through a lot and learn about each other. I could relate to Ollies anxiety for sure. Using self-deprecating humor to cope trust me it’s not as uncommon as you think. I think they were a perfect match honestly. She needed someone to shake up her life and he needed someone to calm his down. I wish his brothers were more open to him and Luce. I really enjoyed this story from page one and it didn’t take me long to finish which has been a rare thing for me lately. Read this series from book one to fall in love with the band that is Sunset Revival.
“Tonight. Tomorrow. Forever. I’m good with that.”
I have been waiting for Ollie’s story since the beginning. He’s the youngest of the brothers and has been living his rockstar life to the fullest. For him it’s all about the women, parties and more, but once he met Luce in book one you can tell he was intrigued. Luce on the other hand is not interested in him or his lifestyle, but he calls her all the time and they develop a friendship. I was hoping she was his ever after, but I didn’t know how Sarah could tame him. What she gives us is so much better than I ever imagined. It’s an adventure of kidnapping, survival, trust and so much more. I loved their story and loved getting more from all the others that hold a special place in my heart.
I liked Ollie and Luce’s story, even though it’s the fourth of the series, the book can be read as a standalone, but beware that you would want to read them all. Ollie a hottie rockstar with a demon that he has to face, making his journey from jerk to redemption interesting while Luce tries to be his friend but something changes.
Never Leave a Rockstar is book 4 in the series. I was so excited for Ollie and Luce’s story and it did not disappoint. Ollie invites Luce on a trip and she accepts. Luce is avoiding the wedding of a close friend. They get kidnapped and stranded on a deserted island. Ollie is trying so hard to be the rockstar people think they know, but not who he really is. He just fumbles with Luce, (girls on the boat) so much until it gets serious and he really pulls through on the island. Luce is going through some health and life issues. She really is having a hard time of it. I loved these two, they struggle, but eventually they figure out where they are supposed to be. Ollie at the hospital was amazing! The writing is great, the dialogue flows, and the characters are flawed, but real. I loved it and I can’t wait for Nick’s book! I was given the opportunity to read an early copy of this book.
For 3 books Ollie has been completely unlikable. Like a complete jerk. What he did to Emma was horrible. It weird because all these books seem to be happening roughly at the same time, maybe within 6 months to a year difference so it’s hard to believe anyone could do such a 180. Ollie does redeem himself and Luce is just the person to keep him on his toes. This book was a bit out there and completely unrealistic with the whole kidnapping, stranded on an island thing, which is a departure from the rest of the books. I guess Ollie just has some crappy luck. This was an entertaining series.
**I did receive an arc copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review **
This is the first book I have read by Sarah Darlington and needless to say it won’t be the last. If all her books are like Never Leave A Rockstar, I am addicted. It has everything that I love about enemies-to-lovers trope; A hot, confident man; a feisty, confident woman; a stranded island; bantering, bickering, and a necessity for each other. Ollie had to grow up quickly. He was a quick study with a guitar and then before graduating high school he became a rockstar and was thrown into a world of indulgence. Luce has a family tragedy that follows every member of her family. She has life decisions to make and doesn’t know whether she should trust her heart. This was an unputdownable story, that will leave your heart and soul happy.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.
‘Never leave a rockstar’ is the fourth book in this new adult, rockstar series and if you have (just like me) read the other books in the series than you have already met Oliver (Ollie) and Luce. Ollie is the youngest brother and member of the Sunset Revival band and Luce is Emma’s young aunt (Emma is the main character of the first book).
I have been curious about Ollie’s and Luce’s story from the very first book, wherein they met. It was very obvious in that story that Luce wasn’t a big fan of Ollie. It wasn’t the fact that he’s eight years younger than her that was a problem. No, she had a big problem with his playboy attitude and his manwhore’s ways. Still you could feel that Ollie was fascinated with her. So I wonder how the writer would make these two characters fall in love with each other.
And after reading it, I must say that the writer really convinced me of the connection between Luce and Ollie. We saw a very different side of Ollie’s character in this story and I liked it. His insecurities, his anxieties, his honesty about his sex addiction. He may have been not a very likeable or reliable person in the previous books but here he really surprised me with his care and devotion for Luce.
He really grows as a person in the story, going from a young rockstar to a responsible, adult guy. Someone who wanted to be the best he could be for the person that he loved.
Although on first look, Ollie and Luce were very different from each other, they did fit like a jigsaw puzzle in the end. Each in their own way, was there when the other needed them.
Just like in the other stories, we got both POV’s in this story too.
Do you have to read the previous books before reading this one? That’s a difficult question to answer. In my opinion I would say yes. Because some situations in the stories are taking place around the same time, so if you read from the beginning, you get a better view of what is going on, I think. And it will also give you a better inside into the interaction between the brothers and their cousin. Why they react a certain way. Because one of the things that I found fascinated in this series was that although the brothers and their cousin Dani have spent a lot of time together on tour, they still don’t really know each other very well. That’s something that I discovered in each story, their fear, their anxiety of certain things that they hide from each other.
Although the story had some sensitive themes in it (sex addiction, breast cancer) it never was dark. The writer wrote about it in a light way. I enjoyed this story.
Action packed and intriguing adventure filled with exciting and engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and emotionally thrilling turns. Was a great read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed this highly entertaining journey!
3.75 stars–NEVER LEAVE A ROCKSTAR is the fourth and final instalment in Sarah Darlington’s contemporary, adult ROCKSTARS IN KILL DEVILS HILLS / NEVER TRUST erotic, rock, romance series focusing on the members of the rock band Sunset Revival. This is bassist Oliver ‘Ollie’ Mills, and bartender Luce Winchester’s story line. NEVER LEAVE A ROCKSTAR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Luce is Emma’s niece (Never Trust a Rockstar #1). Some of the events of Never Leave a Rockstar cross over with, and run parallel to the events in a couple of the previous books.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Luce and Ollie) NEVER LEAVE A ROCKSTAR follows in the aftermath of a kidnapping and abandonment on a deserted island. Ollie Mills had been lusting after Luce Winchester since being rejected by her sister Emma. Inviting Luce onto his yacht meant a chance with our story line heroine but Ollie was a bit of a manwh*re and Luce soon discovered she wasn’t the only woman on board the yacht. But things don’t go according to plan when Ollie and Luce are kidnapped and left stranded on a deserted island where they struggle to find water and food, only, once again, to come face to face with their would-be abductors disguised as their rescuers. Having to make a desperate attempt to escape their kidnappers, Ollie and Luce find themselves on the run, in the hopes of staying one-step ahead of Ollie’s persistent stalker. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ollie and Luce, and the potential fall-out as Luce keeps a secret that is about to change her life.
Ollie’s reputation as a manwh*re preceded his introduction to our story line heroine. Throughout the series Ollie’s dalliances with numerous women didn’t sit well with family or friends but in NEVER LEAVE A ROCKSTAR a different side of Oliver Mills emerges as he struggles to save the woman with whom he would fall in love. Luce Winchester has loved and lost, and wasn’t about to get involved with a man who is unable to make a commitment beyond the weekend but finding herself on a deserted island with our story line hero, Luce and Ollie had to work together in order to survive.
The relationship between Ollie and Luce began months before but Ollie’s stint in rehab found our hero making a daily call in order to get his fix of our story line heroine. Everyone warns Luce about Ollie’s manwh*ring ways, never giving Ollie the benefit of the doubt that people can change when they fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters include Caleb Mills and his girlfriend Emma: Dana Mills and John Michaels; Luke Mills and Rebecca Cooper.
NEVER LEAVE A ROCKSTAR is a story of obsession and fame; romance, secrets, family and love. The premise is engaging and entertaining. The epilogue fast forwards one year but I was hoping for some information or more details regarding Ollie’s stalker, a conflict resolution that never came to fruition. The characters are colorful and energetic; the romance is passionate and seductive. NEVER LEAVE A ROCKSTAR is a spicy and sexy conclusion to the Never Trust/Rockstars in Kill Devils Hills series.
I’ll be honest. I wasn’t a fan of Ollie in the previous books. Almost every time we saw him he was coming from or going to his next screw. Me not being a fan of manwhores, turned me off. There was also no real insight to his actual personality (other than sex with anybody and everybody). I’m pretty sure Sarah did that on purpose. She saved everything for this book.
I found Ollie to be pretty damn adorable when he was being open and honest and vulnerable. Which he was……but only with Luce. Luce fought him tooth and nail and kicking and screaming. She did NOT want to get involved with Ollie (who could blame her right?). But underneath all the flirting and swagger and manwhoring laid a decent man.
There’s a lot going on here…. a retreat for sex addicts, kidnapping, stalking, being stranded on a desert island…. Believable? Probably not. But definitely entertaining.
Ollie with Luce is something special and I absolutely loved them together. I would say this is my second favorite book in the series. My #1 is still Dani and John (Never Kiss a Rockstar).
This is part of a series, but could easily be read as a stand-alone.
