Tali DiPietro is a good girl with a streak of punk rock rebel. Before I left for college, my mom told me not to settle down with the first guy who crosses my path. Sage advice, sure, but that’s hard to do after I share an elevator with a guy who is nothing like the boys back home. I swore off musicians a long time ago, but when I see Jude on stage for the first time, I know I’m going to fall for … see Jude on stage for the first time, I know I’m going to fall for him, and I’m damn sure it’s going to hurt.
Jude Goldman is a bad boy with a guitar and big dreams.
I have one goal: making it as a musician. There’s no obstacle I won’t destroy to be the one under the spotlight. Nothing has slowed me down, not until a chocolate-eyed girl with a New York accent enters my world. Tali becomes as important as landing a record deal, and I’ll do anything to have both, no matter how much it hurts.
We’re two ships moored together in a storm of excess, stardom, and broken promises, pulled apart and yanked back in, until we’re both battered and breaking. We have that forever kind of love, but for us, forever might be nothing more than stardust and memories.

Seen it coming
What makes this a terrific book is the depth of feelings the Author pulls out of every character, not just Jude and Talia. Family and friendships that are believable, as a reader I felt like I was there, witnessing Jude and Talia falling in love and then those annoying flutters started in my stomach. Where you just knew, heartache was waiting to strike.
The perfect blend of sappy first love and deep angst. I loved these characters. You will feel every emotion they feel, and your heart will break completely when theirs do. I can’t wait to read the conclusion to this duet. You get all the feels as you love and hate they things they do. This is a truly amazing read that leaves you begging for more.
Thanks for ARC opportunity.
This is my first book I read of this author. This is the first book in series. Tali and Jude are young couple who are in love. They meet accidentally in lift and that keeps continuing. They keep continuing to meet. Tali doesn’t want to, she can’t help but feel that Jude could be her everything. So, she gives in and gives their love a shot. They are both extremely supportive of each other and deeply in love, but there are mistakes, bad decisions, and hurdles that create destructive fissures in their hearts. They are adults yet not mature enough to understand what lies for them.
I liked how independent Tali was. She was so focused on her school work and making sure her dreams would come true. Their flirtation, chemistry, mutual love for music, and the depth of their connection is all consuming. Addiction is such a horrible thing, you don’t know when it consumes you or you get consumed by it. Tali dabbles in drugs recreationally and Jude falls for it bad. He just couldn’t recognize who is controlling who, this will lead to fragile relationship. When Jude chases his dream to be a rock star to his down fall in the end, I was wondering how things end between them. With broken promises and burned bridges they have a lot to overcome.
It’s an entertaining story lines which starts slow in the beginning but picks up pace after midbook. I really enjoyed the support and friendships between Tali, Nina, and Tino.
Tali and Jude’s story is a real tug on the heart strings. It’s an emotional ride. Enjoy this emotional rollercoaster if you are in for Rock stars.
I’ve never had a book grip me from the very first page like Never Lasting. The authentic vibe of the early 2000s transported me back to my own college days. Somewhere between the cinder block walls and elevator rides with handsome strangers, NOSTALGIA HIT HARD!
Tali is a boss, even at 19. She knows what she wants, and she has her boundaries. She isn’t interested in falling for the first boy that catches her eye. Jude is a gifted musician with a reputation as a bad boy. Music and mutual friends may be all they have in common, but Tali and Jude are drawn to each other on a soul level. Even through broken promises and life’s many obstacles, it’s easy to feel how deeply they love each other.
The magnetism of Tali and Jude will keep this book in your hands until the last page. The dynamics of all the other characters and how their lives impact each other will keep this book in your heart for much longer. Beautifully written! Well developed characters! I really want to hug them all.
What a fun read! I am glad that we finally get to read Tali’s story. In past books we met Tali as the manager of a band called Blue. In this book we go back to a younger Tali. Tali and Jude meet on accident, but then they continue to “run into” each other. It must have been fate. Tali is a focused college student, Jude is a rockstar, who is trying to get his music career going. I am not happy with how this book ends, but I am happy their story continues. On to “Never Again.”
Pardon me while I sob here in the corner clutching this book like a lifeline. I’ll be real, I don’t even want to take the time to write this review because I absolutely NEED to immediately get lost in the next book, since that’s currently not an option you can instead enjoy my hot mess words as I ramble on about the brilliance of Julia Wolf’s mind and the devastating beauty that is Tali and Jude.
Their story is the epitome of rock and roll. Music, laughter, love, heat, heartbreak all of it is there and turned up to max volume in true rock fashion. Jude is a hero who’s got so many layers to him that I don’t think we’ve even scratched the surface of really knowing him. What I do know is that this man loves fiercely, feels deeply and is flawed in ways that both broke my heart and made me love him even more all at once.
Tali is a beautiful soul. Kind and and selfless in ways that are rare for someone her age her love is different than Jude’s but runs no less deep. These two were and explosion waiting to happen from the moment they met, and explode they do! What they have goes well beyond simple chemistry and I can’t wait to lose myself in the second half of their story.
Julia Wolf has already written some of my all time favorite books, but the start of this duet? It may be the greatest thing she’s written yet!
Tali is a determined and good student. She has her life sorted out and knows exactly where she’s heading. Jude on the other hand seems more like a dreamer. Musician is the only thing he ever wanted to be and he’s hoping for a big chance while he’s working and partying. When they meet two worlds colliding, we get a fierce love story.
Oh man my heart was bursting out of my chest the whole time reading this book. So many times I wanted to smack Jude. Telling him to wake up. The end! That crushed my heat more. Can’t wait for the next book.
An amazing start to this duet. Tali and Jude’s story is filled with love, drama, angst and heartbreak. This book gutted me. I am hoping part 2 puts me back together!!
It Grabbed My attention and focus so strong I could not put it down. A word of advice when you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You will not be moving until you finish this bad boy here. Remarkable job. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, Tali. I can so relate to her. Loves and lives music, but doesn’t sing and can’t play. She has more talent for it than I ever will. She is dedicated to her studies. However, one meeting from a rockstar-in-the-making, and she’s consumed – by him, the college life, and the rockstar lifestyle. It was interesting watching her and her eclectic and eccentric group of friends. The highs are high, the lows are low, and young adult drama ensues. You wanted to both cheer and cry along. Keep tissues nearby.
This is the first book from this author that I have read. I really enjoyed this book. Beautifully written story and wonderful characters. Jude and Tali were so good together. I can’t wait to read book 2 so I can get the rest of their story.

I loved this story. I wondered how Tali became the no nonsense gal she is and this story didn’t disappoint in showing how she got there. There is so much love and push & pull with Jude that had me on pins and needles during the whole book. I can’t wait for the next book so I can find out what happens next. I got all the feels and more with this story. It’s so wonderful and the characters have so much depth.
I received an Advanced Copy of this book for my voluntary review
Just amazing. This book is about Tali the Blue is the colour band manager. It’s is her story and I’m very glad she has been given a voice. Julia certainly had done her justice in this first book in the duet. The book is a little dark although she had a hard time and so like all heroines she had had to fight. I have always loved Julia Wolf’s books and although this is a smidge more tense it’s no less entertaining. Fantastic book and can’t wait to dive into the conclusion to Tali’s story.
This was an ARC and this is my review of this great book!!
Tali has always been a favorite of mine. She is strong smart and sassy. She holds her own and has a good head and fun. I really hate Jude – he does not deserve her. He will never be good enough for Tali.
This story is all kinds of feels. There is fun, love and angst. There is also feels like u could not believe. This story has everything and so much more. Be very prepared to ride the rollercoaster of emotions that is worth every high and low.
I am soo torn right now. I hate second chances and I hate Jude but Tali needs a happily ever after and I hate the idea of it being Jude. Julia u have torn me!!
I think all fans of Julia Wolf have been waiting for Talias story. I know I definitely have and as expected it is amazingly heartbreaking and beautiful. Talia and Jude met and fell in love in the early 2000s and it was passionate and soul shattering. Jude and Talias relationship was frought with mistrusts caused by secrets on Judes part and sometimes love just isn’t enough to keep you together. This book was so fantastic and thoroughly ripped my heart out. Now I’m off to read book two and read how Jude and Talia get stitched me back together again. One last word Read this book you will not regret it!!!!
I feel that with each book an author should grow. I believe JW has done that and it shows in Never Lasting. It is a duet so it’s not the whole story but it is an excellent start and as long as it maintains this pace, she’s got another winner. Well written, well researched, and full of all the qualities of a good book. There’s love and angst, romance and laughter, heartbreak and healing.
Another thing I like is when an author can get you to care about a character that you previously didn’t give much thought. Tali. She wasn’t really on my radar previously but JW fixed that. Tali is a great character. The book starts in her early college days. She a little young and naive but she’s no pushover either. She has goals and aspirations and the drive to reach them. She’s going places. As the story moves along she falls in love but the road isn’t smooth. Jude is a rock God but he’s just beginning and also he has lots of issues, responsibilities, and things we don’t even know yet but we will. They are surrounded by friends and family and a myriad of things going on, good and bad. Will their relationship survive? That’s where book two will pick up because this one ends in the dreaded cliffhanger.
I’ll be honest. I’m not a fan of duets or series where it’s just one story. It takes a lot to maintain my attention but I am invested in Tali and Jude so I don’t have a choice but to continue. I mean that in a good way. I do recommend this story and I look forward to the ending.
Never Lasting is book one in the Never Blue series. For fans of the author’s Blue is the Color series we already know Tali as a supporting character in that series so it is great that she has her own book to tell her story. Book one takes place before Tali meets Blue is the Color and it is great seeing what shapes her to be the character we already know.
I really enjoyed the support and friendships between Tali, Nina, and Tino. The author does a wonderful job that it is easy to visualize the relationships.
Jude and Ben’s friendship is something of a mystery and it will keep you wondering is the best I can explain without giving away any spoilers.
You will find yourself on an emotional roller coaster ride with Tali and Jude. There are twists and things don’t happen as you would want them to. Their story doesn’t end with this book and thankfully we do not have to wait long for book two.
A spin off of my favorite Blue is the Color series? Yes please! Oh boy this book is a roller coaster of a ride, an emotional story of young love. Tali and Jude meet young and fall hard but their story isn’t easy or simple. Although this is a spin off it can be read as a standalone, this is book 1 of a duet so be prepared for the book cliffhanger, that won’t conclude until the second book (Never Again) which releases on December 17th.
