NEVER ENOUGH (Meet Me in Montana #1) by Kelly Elliot is the start of a new contemporary cowboy romance series. Kelly Elliot is a new-to-me author who pulled me in with her writing style and I will be continuing to look for her name and series in the future.
Lincoln Pratt is one of the top interior designers in Atlanta, but she wants and needs a fresh start. She sold her company and is starting over in Hamilton, Montana. Lincoln and her best friend, Taylee drive across country to the new home she purchased from the mysterious Brock Shaw.
Brock Shaw is attempting to win the competitive bull riding championship for the second time. The money and endorsements will secure his future and allow him to raise his young son with no financial worries. But even as he misses raising his son himself, the travel that keeps him from home and the adrenaline of the rides let him forget even if for just a short time the pain and guilt of his wife’s death.
From the moment they meet, even with the strong physical attraction, Brock and Lincoln do not know whether they even like each other. Lincoln cannot resist Brock’s son, Blayze and is willing to open her heart to Brock, too even as he runs hot and cold. Brock wants Lincoln, but he is going to have to let the pain and guilt of the past go to finally find what he needs.
This romance ticked off all the things I love about this genre. A book that I can sit down with and fall into the story and lives of all the characters immediately. Also, a strong, but wounded hero, add cowboy and single dad, to reel me in and a strong heroine who stands up to and takes no bull from this bull rider, but wants to heal his heart. The sex scenes are smokin’ hot, but not gratuitous. All the family and secondary characters were fully fleshed and add depth to this story. I am looking forward to seeing them in future books in this series.
I can highly recommend this second chance contemporary cowboy romance. I am looking forward to more books in this series and by this author.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I will definitely read more , This book just draws you into the storyline and I was hooked after a few pages. I don’t know anything about rodeos or bullriding but this was so informative and made it interesting to read about. The storyline revolves around Brock Shaw struggling to bring up his son Blayze while competing on the bullriding circuit. Lincoln has uprooted to move into the ranchhouse Brock previously owned. She wants to restart without interference from overprotective parents . The chemistry between her and Brock is instantaneous and the mutual attraction that they are both trying to ignore proves too much . Neither is looking for a romantic relationship but the pull between them is captivating. Their interactions together are very humorous and heart warming. Kaylee is Lincoln best friend and the banter between her and Brock brother Ty was so funny . You can’t help but fall in love with Blayze, he’s so sweet and his relationship with Lincoln was heartwarming to read. I loved this book the writing style reminded me of Melissa foster . I can’t wait to read the next one in the series now.
I received this copy from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review and all thoughts are freely given .
ANOTHER HIT FROM KELLY! The more that Kelly writes, the more I continue to fall in love with her storylines, characters, and style of writing. For me, her books are the perfect combination of romance, suspense, comedy, and all-around smiles, and this book added to that for me. Guilt is such a powerful thing in people’s lives and it directly affects the course of their lives, which is the case with Brock. With Lincoln, I love a powerful and outspoken girl in stories, and Kelly always delivers. In addition, with this being the first book in this series, something Kelly does perfectly is providing a full story while also introducing us to characters that will be the focus of the next books in the series. I loved this book and can’t wait for the next book in this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
OMG, Kelly Elliott just slayed me with ALL. THE. FEELS Finishing that last page, wiping the tears from my eyes, Never Enough is an emotional journey that is written with such grace.
Firstly, Montana cowboys float my boat. Their charisma and charm are on another level. Brock and his brothers are a dream come true. Their cowboy drawl, tight Wranglers and fierce love are a force to be reckoned with. Brock loves hard but had been hurt deeply. Moving past his guilt and opening his heart to love again is beautifully explored and written with perfection. Lincoln is his perfect match! Their instant connection lit up my kindle pages!! The hot/cold chemistry kept me on my toes, while cheering for them to get it on! Their story fills my heart with joy, every page was better than the last
I’m so excited for more of this series. Kelly Elliott has stolen my heart with the Montana cowboys. Brock and Lincoln FOREVER!!
I loved everything about this fantastically written, swoon worthy story from Kelly Elliott.
This new series has definitely gotten me under its spell Brock and Lincoln had an amazing chemistry.
Brock’s a professional bull rider who’s a little broken, carrying guilt for something that wasn’t his fault and Lincoln is an Interior designer, new to town with a strong personality.
They don’t get off to a great start but soon things get a little heated. Can Lincoln break down the walls of Brocks heart and is Brock ready to let someone in.
A fabulous start to this new series and add in a very adorable 5 year old what more could you ask for. A fantastic 5 stars from Crazy Cajun Book Addicts.
I was excited to dive into a new series from Kelly! Brock hasn’t healed from his past. He survives and does what he needs to do to ensure his son is never without. When his brother helps arrange for the sale of his former house, he’s not expecting the woman who buys it. Lincoln is in need of a fresh start. She wants to get out from under her dad’s thumb and do a job she loves. Montana offers what Atlanta can’t, and so much more! I adored Brock’s family and the way they cared for Lincoln and Kaylee, her best friend. However, Brock isn’t so thrilled. I was completely lost in this story and I didn’t want to leave it! I enjoyed reading about this bull rider and felt like I was there with him on his rides. My heart felt all the emotions in this book and I couldn’t read it fast enough. This was a great start to the series and I look forward to future books!
Any time I enter a new Kelly Elliott world, I head in knowing that I’m going to be introduced to multifaceted main characters who have emotional baggage that they’re either running away from or burying, and because I know that Elliott always brings the feels and the angst when necessary. She also establishes a dynamic connection between the hero and the heroine regardless of their inability to move forward or even contemplate a future when the past and perhaps even the present aren’t completely being dealt with in a way what would allow forward progress.
The above ideas truly capture Brock Shaw and Lincoln Pratt’s current situations in the first book in Elliott’s Meet Me in Montana series, and while I would say that Lincoln is more apt to focus on the present and the future now that she’s finally on her own and out from underneath her father’s thumb and the big city she’s from, Brock is stuck so far in the past…so far into his own head that it’s difficult for him to see past his issues and make it out on the other end healed or at least emotionally and mentally on the mend.
Word of advice – give Brock a chance…some readers will be quick to judge him based on his earlier words and actions, but a lot of it toward the beginning of the story comes from the burden of grief that consumes him and the guilt he carries due to the choices he made. But once Lincoln begins to chip away at Brock’s walls and show him how it’s okay to move forward, to fully invest in others’ lives, especially his son’s, things slowly begin to progress in a way that allows Brock a second chance at life, at love, and at a family…all of which he thought was lost long ago.
Lincoln is the perfect match for the surly and closed-off Brock. She’s an independent woman who isn’t afraid to risk it all to go out on her own, even if it means making mistakes along the way. She sees something in Brock worth fighting for and she’s proven she’s willing to work for what she wants and Brock and his son are it.
Kelly Elliott always has an amazing group of secondary characters who add so much to the story line and can easily slide into the hero or heroine slot in a different book in the series, which makes it a great world for readers to escape to because there’s a solid foundation for stories to come.
Never Enough is one heck of a start to Elliott’s new series, and while I may not ever travel to Montana, journeying there in Elliott’s books with her characters and vividly experiencing the environment through their eyes and with their hearts makes it quite the adventure.
4.5 Poison Apples
Ah! This book was amazing! I loved the rodeo scene and found myself not only enjoying this book but learning as I was reading. I found myself so drawn into this book, wanting to learn what was going to happen next. My heart broke for Brock and his circumstances with his wife. It was wonderful to see him get his happily ever after. Brock and Lincoln have an incredible connection that is a must read!
Small town romance with a sexy bull-riding hero, a strong-willed heroine and a cute, adorable little boy and you have a winning combination! Well-developed characters and an intriguing, interesting plot — this was an very enjoyable contemporary western romance. I voluntarily read and reviewed ARC for NetGalley.
Oh, how I loved this book! There is something about a single dad romance that just does it for me. I absolutely love them. Add in the fact that there is bull riding? Be still my heart. I am a HUGE PBR fan, so when I heard that this book was coming out, I knew I was going to love it.
This book did not disappoint. Brock and Lincoln’s story was absolutely just what I needed. I loved watching their chemistry together and seeing how their story progressed. Watching Lincoln interact with Blayze was also one of my absolute favorite parts.
Everything about Never Enough was awesome. It’s light, it’s sweet, and it’s amazing.
I can say, with the utmost confidence, that Never Enough is my new favorite book of Ms. Elliotts’. I don’t know what it is about this book but there’s just something. I fell as hard and fast for Lincoln and Brock as well Lincoln and Brock fell for each other. (You’ll get that comment when you read, trust me.) Anyways, this book. Lincoln, Brock, Blayze, Kaylee, Dirk, Ty, Tanner, Stella, and Ty senior all stole my heart the minute I picked it up. And well I got to learn about something I don’t know much about, bull riding. And when I can take something away that I don’t know much about that makes reading even more fun. I couldn’t read this book fast enough or soon enough. It really truly is one of the best and one of my favorites. Plus I just really adore the characters. So much so that I could keep right on gushing for a long while!!
I found Kelly Elliot’s first book (I think), Wanted, way back in 2013 and loved it. I read the entire series as it was published, but somehow along this journey of romance book blogging, I didn’t gobble up her books as frequently as I did in the beginning. And I’m not really sure why because I really do enjoy her books. So when I had the opportunity to read and review Never Enough, I jumped on it!
Brock lives to work because if he stops, the guilt he feels will completely overwhelm him. And as a champion bull rider, that’s the only part of his life he feels he can be proud of except for the son that loves him and worships the ground he walks on. Brock’s family knows he’s got to heal and let go of the guilt or his son will ultimately be lost to him. So when Lincoln drops into his family’s day to day life, his entire world is shaken up. He wants her but doesn’t feel like he deserves to be happy. Lincoln needed a fresh start so she’s moved to Montana to prove to herself that she can make it on her own and be successful without her father meddling in her personal and professional life. Can she be the one to help Brock heal or will he push her away for good?
NICUnurse’s Rating: I’m just going to throw it out there that I’m totally jealous of Lincoln. I love Montana and would love to live there. She’s the kind of brave that I wish I had been at her age, as well as fierce and loyal. And who doesn’t love a wounded hero who’s also a single dad? Yeah, Brock is stubborn as all get out, but it was fun to watch him grow and heal and finally realize what everyone else knew all along: he’s a really great guy and a really great father. The book is the story of these two characters learning what I consider one of life’s biggest lessons: our past mistakes should never define us. Everyone deserves a second chance if they truly want to change. And that’s what Never Enough is all about. Along with some pretty sexy and swoon-worthy scenes, too! Oh, and Brock’s son, Blayze, kind of steals the show at times. He’s too darn cute, and he knows it!
I give Never Enough by Kelly Elliot 4.5 out of 5 stars!
I’m a sucker for single dad romances. There’s just something about them that always makes me sigh and smile. Never Enough was no different. This book had me smiling, sighing-and definitely shaking my head in spots.
I enjoyed getting to know Lincoln in this book. She’s smart, sassy and I liked her determination. She definitely bloomed where she was planted and I liked how her character evolved and grew throughout the story. Lincoln is the type of woman I’d want in my corner and someone I would be friends with.
Brock, oh Brock. Man did he have me shaking my head at times. His stubborn streak was frustrating at times, but he always had the best intentions. I loved seeing him fall for Lincoln.
These two had chemistry for sure. It was just a matter of what they wanted to do with it-and seeing them finally give in to each other was very satisfying. I believed in their connection and enjoyed watching them figure out their relationship.
The supporting characters in this book were fun, and ones I hope to see again in future books. The writing flowed well and I was invested in the book from beginning to end. Kelly Elliott has a knack for creating worlds that seem like you could really just walk right into them; they’re that inviting and realistic.
This book left me with a smile on my face. I would recommend it.
I was really excited about this book coming out. Come on who wouldn’t love a good romance story with a hot looking bull rider. Like always I wasn’t disappointed. There is always some sort of witty commentary that will catch you off guard and you just laugh out loud. Great chemistry between the two characters. I’m ready for book 2. Bring on more cowboys.
A wonderful read that will fill your heart with joy. I loved Never Enough so much. I couldn’t put this one day. You have a bull riding single father Brock who just holds onto so much guilt from the past. Then you have Lincoln, she is just so sweet and caring. I love how she is with Brocks son Blayze from the very beginning. You can just feel the chemistry rolling off Lincoln and Brock from the start. I love how much they try and fight what is just so natural. I can’t wait for more of Meet Me In Montana series. Never Enough is just the first book and I’m already hooked. I love what Kelly Elliott gives us with this one.
“Ever since I first met you, you’ve been a beautiful dream that plays alongside a nightmare.”
Never Enough is the first book in the exciting new Meet Me in Montana Series by Kelly Elliott and follows the story of Lincoln & Brock. Brock lives and breathes bull riding. Not only is the power from riding the bull addictive, but it provides a much needed distraction from the guilt he lives with on a daily basis. Only being on the road takes its toll, especially for a single dad. His family wants him to settle down and be the father he needs to be, but in order to do that, Brock must be willing to let go of the past…Lincoln is a long ways from Atlanta and is hoping that Montana will provide her with the fresh start she so desperately needs. What she didn’t plan on was meeting Brock. At first sight, Brock was everything she could ever want, but then he had to go and open his mouth. He’s rude and abrasive and just an overall jerk. But, as Lincoln gets to know the Shaw Family, she’ll quickly see that there is more to Brock than meets the eye. He’s been through a lot and Lincoln terrifies him. Will Brock open his eyes and grab on to his second chance at love before it’s too late??? There’s only one way to find out….
Never Enough is a heartwarming and beautiful second chance romance. From the moment you meet Lincoln and Brock, you can just tell their story is going to be special. The push and pull between them is instant and consuming. Brock is broken and damaged and only bright light in his life is his son. Brock holds on to a lot of pain and guilt where his past involved and is doing the best that he can. His walls are sky high, but Lincoln might just be the one able to break down those walls. And speaking of Lincoln, Lincoln was such an amazing character. She loved big and with all of her heart. She was tough as nails and was just what Brock was missing from his life. Just being around Lincoln made Brock see what his life was missing. She brought him back to life without even trying. Together, these two were a match I just couldn’t help but root for. I loved watching them trying to figure things out and just couldn’t wait to see how their story would unfold.
Never Enough is well written and consuming. This book can easily be finished in a single sitting. I know I devoured it. This story is filled with so much heart and hits all the elements when it comes to small town romances. Never Enough truly is a sweet and addictive story. The characters will capture your heart and leave you screaming for more. Never Enough is the perfect start to the Meet Me in Montana Series and I for one can not wait to see where this series will go next!!
A wonderful start to a new series of small town cowboys set in the hills of Montana. I quickly fell into the dynamics of the Shaw family and can’t wait for the boys to get their unexpected HEAs.
PBR Champion Brock Shaw has been there done that and still wears the guilt left behind on his sleeve. Raising his little boy Blayze with the help of his parents and brothers when he is away on tour. Blayze and the tour are his main focus. Sure he spends time now and again with a lady but swears he will never open his heart again, feeling he proved long ago he can’t put a woman first over his bull riding.
Lincoln is finally doing it stepping out from under her parents meddling and doing life on her own. Selling her successful business in Atlanta, starting over working for someone else in Montana. She purchased a cute little house with a barn in hopes of getting back on the horse and sharing that love with others. It’s gonna take some time to get used the slower pace but she is ready.
Lincoln is surprised by the helpfulness of the Shaw family, who are her direct neighbours. Quickly taking a liking the cutest little boy who comes along with his uncles and grandma. She was not prepared for the feeling that Brock brought to life the minute he was in a room. She wasn’t her looking for a relationship, just to start over. When Brock realizes that she has evoked feelings he didn’t even feel when he was married, he stumbles a few times. Will this broken cowboy realized he might be worth a second change? Will she break down his walls and help him heal?
This was a great sweet romance. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next in Hamilton Montana. Who is next on the HEA block?

Kelly Elliott delivers a fabulous start to this new series and I am in love! I am a sucker for a sexy cowboy and this one is full of them.
Brock now has my heart. I fell head over boots for him and I couldn’t get enough. I mean come on, who couldn’t love a single dad who rides bulls for a living.
Lincoln is just the kind of heroine I love too. She is smart sassy and independent. She doesn’t let Brock get away with anything and I just want to be her friend.
I loved this one and cannot wait to see what Elliott brings us next in this series.
Never Enough was a nice read. Lincoln and Brock are people who needed a second chance though for completely different reasons. When the two of them come together it was special. There was a little meet-hate but it was evident there was underlying attraction. Their banter was intriguing and I enjoyed the process of their relationship as the story progressed. I also liked the supporting characters. They were pleasant and the family atmosphere was deep. I was interested to see how the story would go and was invested. Overall a fine story.
With each new series Kelly Elliott writes, I get excited to meet a new cast of characters. Never Enough doesn’t disappoint for anyone who loves cowboys or a small town romance.
The first title in the Meet Me in Montana series is an emotional story of love, loss, hope and healing.
Brock is a cowboy and professional bull rider. He’s a sexy single father, who is incredibly complex yet endearing and suffers with the guilt of choices he’s made in his past.
Lincoln is and endearing heroine. Strong, sassy, independent you can’t help but love this transplant from Atlanta.
Their attraction and the sexual tension that oozes between this pair is undeniable. I loved their banter that is sassy, witty and at times quite antagonistic.
Overall I found this to be a great start to a new series, and cannot wait to see more of the Shaw brothers in future titles.
