Review for Audiobook Obsession
This story starts out with Chase’s 15 year old brother, Will , and his girlfriend Cassie, showing up on his doorstep. They ran away from Las Vegas to the only place Will knew to go for safety, was Chase’s home in Ohio. This story is multi dimensional. Chase trying to straighten out Will , to keep him off the same wrong path, when he was a teen. Will trying to make his own decisions , which puts him and Chase in danger.
This is a story of trust, truth, anger, despair.
Amber Bray is a wonderful narrator and portraying all the emotions, love, angst and feelings of despair of each and every Character. I really enjoyed listening to this story. audiobookobsessionreviewer
There are quick summaries of events from the first book in the series so you wouldn’t be totally lost if you hadn’t read it first, but they’re very brief summaries and the details matter for setting up the characters. I’d recommend reading I Stand Before You. I’d also recommend having Just Let Me Love you available, since Never Doubt Me doesn’t exactly have a HFN ending. Like the first book, the epilogue is the first chapter of the next book, but it clearly calls it out as a lead-in and I actually felt like it was a better place to wrap up the second book. Also like the first book, there were times I was disappointed in the characters, but I still liked the story.
I listened to the Audible version. Amber Bray does a great job with the performance. I didn’t notice any production mistakes with book 2.

This is another touching, emotional and captivating romance in the Judge Me Not series. We now see Chase and Kay happily living the life they fought so hard for in book one. They both had their demons they had overcome, but have found their stability, trust and love. But when Chase’s troubled teen brother comes to town, painful secrets, and dreadful actions threaten to pull Chase back to the place he fought so hard to leave behind. He loves his brother and tries desperately to protect him, but it could threaten the new bond that he and Kay had worked so hard to create. You can feel the love and passion between Chase and Kay, and it’s tested in new and painful ways. This is a raw and emotional story that explores some very heartbreaking issues, and Grey does that with honesty and empathy. Amber Bray continues to narrate this breathtaking series. Her inflections and pacing were good, and her voice changes dynamic. I was completely lost in this poignant roller-coaster of loss, redemption, hope, and love, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next on this journey.
Never Doubt Me (Judge Me Not, Book 2) begins where book one left off. Told in dual pov we get the real raw sentiments of the characters. Oddles of emotive moments swirling through the pages. The writing plot is concrete and no extra unnecessary fluff. This ends in a cliffhanger so I’m looking forward to listening to the next audio in this series.
Narator Amber Bray did a well performance with the female voices but struggled a bit with the male character’s. Being that this is told in dual pov this audio would be better if it had a male narator for a duet narration. I found that there were long breaks between chapters when it was Chase’s turn to speak the narator needed time to prepare. Mind you Chase’s chapters are long and Amber must adjust her tone for long periods of time. Overall the naration is fine, just would be better with a male narator for firsr person dual pov.
Chase and Kay seem to be doing well, until Chase’s brother shows up with his girlfriend. Chase tries to be a good example, but WIll is young and makes many irresponsible decisions. Chase and Kay are affected by some of Will’s decisions and their relationship is strained. Following Chase and how he deals with WIll is so telling of him as a character. Once again, I found myself falling hard for him. But that past will not leave Chase and Kay alone. I easily got lost in CHase and Kay’s world with all their struggles and new problems. This story ends in a cliffhanger, and I am waiting on pins and needles to get my hands on that lost book. I could not put this one down.
Amber Bray keeps the character’s voices consistent with her narration. It is easy to continue the story and follow who is speaking or thinking. Ms. Bray brings the serious topics of this book to life and made me feel as if I was a character in the book. I cannot wait to see where the next installment leads us.
Never Doubt Me
Judge Me Not, Book 2
By: S. R. Grey
Narrated by: Amber Bray
There is something about the way SR Grey writes that always finds a way to my heart and makes me want more of her style. The Judge Me Not series is one of those book series that has found it’s way there. Chase and Kay had found their way to each other in book one, so now we have Chase’s younger brother Will coming to visit, with his girlfriend Cassie. Life is good, things are looking up..til they are not. Will is young, and makes some irresponsible decisions that effect not only himself but Chase and Kay. Is there love strong enough to survive this bump in the road? Will Chase stay on the path of sobriety? And will he get to Las Vegas in time? I have to say, this one was a tough listen for me, I think because it is relevant to our times. The circumstances are common, and as I am pulled into their lives and am taking their journey, I can feel their uncertainty and pain, their love and commitment. It does end with a cliffhanger, so I am hoping the next one is out soon so I can see how this is going to end! I have some thoughts, and I need to know what is actually going to happen to Chase, Kay, Will and Cassie.
Amber Bray continues her narration of the story with a haunting narration. The story is serious, and her inflections and voices carry the weight of the situation. I do enjoy have a consistent narrator for a series, and she brings the same voices for the characters as she had in book one letting us know who is talking, making it easy for us to keep going.

5 star Review Never Doubt Me (Judge Me Not #2) by S.R.Grey
AUDIO REVIEW:
Picking up where book one finished, this is the continuing story of Chase Gartner and Kay Stanton. It was an emotional story that was well written and is narrated by Amber Bray she brought depth to the story and added to my listening pleasure.
When Chase’s fifteen year old brother Will and his girlfriend Cassie suddenly arrive in Harmony Creek, their arrival tests the relationship between Chase and Kay. Chase will be drawn into the drama of his brother and his poor decision making. Despite his attempts, it appears Will is determined to self destruct and in doing so others will be put in harms way.
My heart really went out to Chase, who is desperate to “save” his brother and keep his relationship with Kay on track. He really melts my heart as he continues to do better for Kay.
I love the relationship between Chase and Kay, not only Is the chemistry between them hot but their love for one another is beautiful. I lo e how Kay is there for Chase, no matter what.
Never Doubt Me is a story of hope, forgiveness and coming to terms with the past, it’s a story of damaged people who find in each other hope and the chance to love. It is a story of family, of digging down deep and realizing that one can never really escape the past.
