♥ A sexy scientist♥ A nearsighted wallflower♥ A matchmaking mama♥ A Royal Society ball♥ Steamy romance!
Another irresistible romance featuring New York Times bestselling author Lauren Royal’s “outrageously funny, loyal, compassionate, and unconventional” Chase family!
The Ashcroft family motto is “Question Convention,” and eldest sister Lady Violet agrees with the sentiment completely. For one … with the sentiment completely. For one thing, she’s not planning to marry. Plain Violet is smart enough to realize any suitors would be after her large inheritance, or else interested in her beautiful younger sisters—and she’d much rather spend her time reading her beloved books than risking her tender heart…
Ford Chase, the Viscount Lakefield, has never spent much time around children…until he finds his young niece dropped in his lap. Although five-year-old Jewel is adorable, she’s also an annoying, unwelcome distraction from his scientific pursuits. Lucky for Ford, the matchmaking matriarch next door comes to his rescue—by sending her uncommonly intelligent daughter Violet to help…

The love that brings two intellectuals together and the side characters make this an entertaining story. Violet and Ford are both misfits in their world; she because she wants to write a book on philosophy and he because he is an easily distracted scientist.
Violets sisters are real and act appropriately to their age even when the girls find a …
This authors books are addicting. You can’t just read one. Great series!
Another brilliantly written story in the series
This is another brilliantly written story in a series that just keeps getting better. The plot is full of emotional and funny passages. The characters are crafted wonderfully and have some stubborn attitudes to overcome. This book is suitable for anybody who loves steamy historical romances that is …
I really enjoyed this well written romantic story from the time of “The Restoration” (Charles II.)
A delightful read with some fun history blended in. Very enjoyable
Too much indecision and mulling over everything. The main character was always second guessing the male character’s motives and decisions which were obvious, and kept drawing seemingly “clueless” conclusions— tiring. Also, for a book of a certain era, the hero is very forward and free with his attentions toward the heroine where it makes the …
too much R-rated content
I like the concept of this book, unconventional characters meeting and unexpectedly falling in love. However, the heroine’s angst strains credulity after a while; surely she can’t be so incredibly and indecisive and willing to repeatedly jump to false conclusions.
*** Well researched period, interesting elements (books, famous characters etc); formulaic story.
I like my reads a bit cleaner. After a while the sex part reads the same in every book.
Great historical information/background story was a bit long 354 pages and storyline dragged at times.
Too much sex
Not worth my time. Too vanilla.
