Frances Cameron ought to be spending the month planning her wedding, but when a casual toast on the night of her betrothal escalates into a battle of the sexes, she finds herself obligated on a dare to spend the next thirty days working closely with the handsome and powerful Duke of Kintyre. In winning the dare, will she also lose her heart to the duke?
Such a wonderful story and this author has a way of pulling you into the story right from the start! I loved the interactions between Frances and Robbie….Frances is such a strong, passionate lady and Robbie is such a strong and caring doctor, it doesn’t take long before you know they’re perfect for each other:)
This was a great story of a young woman so daring she is willing to anger everyone around her in order to prove she is as important as a man. As they earn respect for each other and their time together runs out, will the love that has grown be able to survive. Because after all she is betrothed to his cousin and her sister seems to be filling in her place with the betrothed. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
One more cute and sweet novella related to the Farthingales series.
It is a clean for those who might wonder, but the main characters may have some wicked thoughts.
I do loved both hero and heroine, Frances is no weak woman, she won’t back down from a Dare even if outrageous nor will Robbie, the Duke of Kintyre, a caring doctor but with a reputation of coldness.
Each one thought the other as an annoyance, driven by hearsay. But in close contact, they will quickly comprehend there are more than meet the eyes to the other. Robbie is really a compassionate doctor, he takes care at his best of his patients and Frances will go to any length to prove she can stand her ground and be useful even if she is a woman.
I loved to see their affection for another grow and with it their respect.
A very lovely quick read.
I love anything that Meara Platt writes & this was such a “feel good” story! Frances Cameron is a strong, a fighter for women’s rights & wants to find true. Robbie, Duke of Kintyre, is not only handsome & powerful but is a physician on top of being a Duke. A night of a betrothal celebrations finds men & women on opposite sides of a battle of the sexes & a dare is made & accepted by Frances & Robbie for her to spend the next thirty days working closely with Robbie in his clinic. There are funny moments, tender caring moments & romantic moments that total up to a fun & enjoyable book. I highly recommend this book & all the Farthingale Series books – you will love them!
This was such a delight to read, and well written with wonderful characters. Robbie the delectable Duke who happens to be a doctor is perfect in every way, and Frances is such a caring beauty inside and out. She’s supposed to be planning her wedding to his cousin but instead and because of a dare ends up working as his assistant for thirty days. A regency battle of the sexes that leaves you wanting more.
1.5 stars
Although there was no sex in this book, I would not consider it clean. There was language and lots of sexual remarks/thoughts.
Do not expect historical accuracies. There was also a lot of questions that were never answered, such as what did she feel so strongly about with the hospital?
I got this book for free.
