I’m an anxious nerdy girl living in a turbulent world.* * We’re in the midst of a pandemic. I live with my family in our cramped apartment where privacy comes at a premium. May is going to be one heck of a meltdown. To top it off, I’ve been crushing on my boss and used a dating app to get over him. I was supposed to meet my online date for the first time when the city put a shelter in place … in place order, and now…we have a Skype date to meet for the very first time. I’m pretty sure I’m going to die a virgin before this thing ends.

It’s the end of my world as I know it, and I still haven’t figured out if I feel fine.
This is a story about hope, family, and finding love. Though the events are real, I’m sensitive to the topic and promise a HEA we all need to escape.

LOVED it! We need all the feels now…
This is a stream of consciousness narrative about Laurel and Van who have connected via text and have decided to meet just as the city is shut down b/c of a pandemic. Van finds out that Text girl is one of his employees, Laurel, the shy and beautiful girl he has noticed. She on the other hand does not know who Text guy is. When the truth is revealed (in itself a great scene!), there is relief and happiness on both parts. She’s had a crush on her boss all this time anyway. Rather than throw in a lot of unnecessary angst about the reveal Ms. Cerny has taken the more realistic approach. During the course of the shut down they get to know one another via text, FaceTime and phone. When the quarantine is lifted, WOW…just WOW and sweet. Not too explicit.
This was a short steamy story with all the feels. Van loves Laurel in an over-the-moon way which is so sweet. Don’t we all want that certain someone to adore us that way? There is an Author’s Note which is not to be overlooked, there is humor during a crisis and there is sweet yet sultry affection. LOVED it!
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and it comes highly recommended.
Laurel joined a dating site only to get the notion of her boss out of her mind. Laurel was excited to have her first time date with her on line date. Mind you they haven’t exchanged real names yet. They have been talking for a while by text or email only. Tonight will be the night! As all good plans go, something happens to stop the date! Then a epidemic decided that It was time to shut down the whole world! No dates, so Van decides to do face time for the first time but he has a secret that could stop this whole situation! A truly lovely story of the struggle of dating, getting to know each other and finding out the truths, while practicing distance from other people.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
My goodness! I need some fans over here. This such a sweet but sexy treat of a story. I totally fell with Laurel and Van! I love the descriptive words MC uses that makes for some vivid imagery.
Honestly my biggest complaint is that I wanted more..and I wanted an epilogue. Maybe a part 2 of Laurel and Van?? We can hope!
