They were a perfect storm of bad decisions and tragedy…
We thought our forever kind of love would protect us.We thought we were strong enough to withstand any storm. But we were so young then. We couldn’t have known what was coming.”First loves will mess you up until the end of time if you let them.”Older now, we’re both stronger than we’ve ever been. Brought back together by chance, we have a … we’re both stronger than we’ve ever been. Brought back together by chance, we have a second chance to discover if forever is still the truth or yet another broken promise.
(This is the conclusion to Tali and Jude’s epic love story)

I will admit I found it really hard to like Jude in the beginning of this book as I felt so protective of Tali after getting to know her via the other books and from book 1 of their duet but he gets the opportunity to redeem himself. This book is full of so many emotions that you really do want to get comfy and maybe have some comfort chocolate next to you as this is definitely an epic love story.
There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful this duet is and I don’t want to give anything away. This is probably my all time favorite duet. The way you feel their love, through struggles and hardships is amazing! It’s such a real story not just the fantasy. It will stay with me forever and it won’t be long until I’m reading this duet again!
I was given an ARC copy for an honest review and I honestly believe everyone will love this book!
Woo Hoo loved the ending to this duet. These two faced down the odds and made it work the second time around. After finally falling and literally being saved at death’s door he finally gets the help he needs to sober up. Finding a place where he can be at peace and still close to music he’s now ready to face his past and the woman who is his everything. She couldn’t keep being his enabler so she left. She attempted to move on and follow her dreams without him. Now they finally have the chance to talk and find out if that spark is still there and if they can be together. This was a great story of give and take and forgiveness. These two had an emotional battle that had them loosing people and themselves. Trust and love for these two is a hard won battle and one that will keep them together. This author does a great job keeping the flow of the book and keeping you turning the pages for more.
In Never Lasting we left Jude and Tali broken. Jude’s addiction has changed him. Tali had enough and moved on. She become a band manager. Little did she know over 10 years later, Jude would reappear in her life. He has changed, but can Tali forgive him for the pain he caused? Can Jude and Tali have their Happily ever after?
The storyline was well written and the characters were written with such great detail and depth that I remained totally engaged throughout the entire book!
This was an outstanding duet and I think this was the best work of the entire Blue is the Color series. Well, I guess it’s really its own thing called Never Blue Duet but I think you get what I mean.
I think JW has outdone herself with this duet. It’s well written, well researched, and full of all the best qualities of a good book. There’s love and angst, romance and laughter, heartbreak and healing. She runs the gamut.
Tali. She wasn’t really on my radar previously but what I had seen of her was her being luke warm and aloof. But now that I know her, Tali is a great character. This book picks up where the other left off. She’s finished college and moved on. Her goals and aspirations have taken shape. She’s going places. She’s working with Blue is the Color and life is good.
Jude is a big star but we don’t learn about where he has gone right away. One day there’s no Jude on the road with Blue is the Color and the next day there he is, out of the blue.
Now Tali, who is still holding on to the past, does her best to avoid Jude but Tali can’t seem to go anywhere without a Jude sighting. At first she tries but with every new interaction she loosens up. I am not going any further but this is the conclusion and there is a HEA.
I’ll be honest. I’m not a big fan of duets or series (where it’s just one couple). I’m a commitment-phobe. LOL. But I got sucked in and was very anxious to see where things went. Tali and Jude burn up the page. The love story they have is epic! They are one of my favorite book couples. I was totally and completely hooked on Never Again. Yes, I recommend this duet and this book, too. LOL. It has all the feels so read it.
Ever have one of those oh S#$! moments? Yeah, welcome to my world. I just finished typing up my review…so very shiny and Grammarly-approved. Hit the wrong button and *poof* it’s gone.
So, here we go again.
I am being really honest here. Never Lasting left me sad and broken-hearted. I needed happy again. I genuinely like Tali and Jude. Ok, honestly, I think Jude is one of the coolest guys ever. He brought his life back from the ashes by transforming himself not by hiding or ignoring his addiction, but by working his program. Jude is honest about his struggles, and lives in a way that each day he doesn’t drink or do drugs is a good day. He takes his sobriety very seriously and does not let anything mess with it. Grown-up recovering Jude still loves Tali, but Tali does not know Jude 2.0, and we get to go on tour with them. Squee!
The getting back was a slow dance of sweet dates and getting to know each other all over again. Jude, his very name brings thoughts of the Fab Four. So they had pastries and coffee and listened to Beatles tunes in a foreign country. The tour and the slow burn keeps going as that flame from 13 years ago get re-kindled. Then Tali says, “He smelled like the best time of my life and tasted like music.” And we know. All the beautiful broken bits from Never Lasting are going to get put back together. But it won’t be seamless, or look like before, it will be like that Japanese art, Kintsugi, where precious things that break are glued back together with precious metal, so imperfections are not hidden but highlighted and made more beautiful.
This book made me verklempt…
I never take notes in a book, but I was sniffing, tearing up that then bloomed into full-blown ugly crying, feels that intense need NOTES! This book had me highlighting up a storm wanting to keep these nuggets of hope and love from Jude and Tali. Dang, these two. They loved hard and broke HARD in Never Lasting. Walking with them as they came together older, maturer, and stable individually and even more solid together, it was resplendent — so much beauty.
Remembering the defeats and disappointments, we saw Jude not handle well in Never Lasting, losing his art in the machine of the industry, losing Ben, losing his battle against addiction, and ultimately losing Tali. Now to see Jude winning against addiction, finding his art on his terms, being himself and comfortable in that skin, walking through those fires to come out the other side sober and committed to his recovery. You want everything for both of them, and thank goodness Jude, and Tali get the triumph.
Dang…getting verklempt again…talk amongst yourselves…*grabs another tissue*
This is the Fantastic ending to Tali & Jude’s story. Truly this book made me feel so much that it took me days to read it as I had to keep putting it down in order to get my emotions back on track. There was so much heartache, pain, angst, love, family & friendship. I loved, loved, loved this book!! Reading about Tali & Jude all grown up and trying to live their lives after their break up answered so many questions. Seeing the pain & love along the way gave me all the feels! Julia Wolf has done it again. I didn’t expect the story to go the direction it did, but I’m so happy. I cried, laughed at myself for it, and then cried again through the book. In the end I was so happy. Their story ended perfectly!!!!
What an amazing conclusion to Tali and Judes’ story!
Even after 13 years, the feelings are still there. However, fear and distrust are front and center.
After everything, Jude has to make it right. There were times I didn’t think he was worth it. I’m so glad he changed my mind.
Wow, so glad Jude and Tali had their ending. I adored this duet. Their emotions so clear and the tension just so obvious, I felt like I was living thru them. Julia Wolf has a way of writing that draws the reader in, so that you can’t help but get swept up in the story, empathetic and feeling the highs and lows of her characters. The story so intrinsic, and well developed, with wonderful characters such as Tino and Tali’s family all helping to propel the story along. Such as easy read book, but a difficult subject of addiction and suicide approached with great tact. This was one book I couldn’t help but keep reading till the end. It was pretty much all I did today. So needless to say I highly recommend both the first book in the duet Never Lasting and then this book Never again. Just wonderful!!!
These were ARC and this is my totally voluntary reviews for these fantastic books.
Perfection. I loved this conclusion to the story. I found myself reading quicker than normal so I could find out what happened next. I don’t really want to give anything away about the story and the characters but I can’t recommend reading this duet enough.
I read this book in 1 day. I just couldn’t put it down. I love duets. This one was particularly angsty which I was in just the right mood to read. I think Jude might be my new book boyfriend. Julia Wolf just keeps getting better and better. Please keep up the amazing work! I don’t usually re-read books but I’ve re-read all of hers.
After the huge hangover from Never lasting, the journey of Jude and Tali continues. Now, at 34, after 13 years, Tali was stronger than ever, a business woman, one who controls her decisions and that of her band. Now Jude is in her band. How can she trust him again? Jude and Tali slowly work their way through the past to paint the complete picture of who they are today, as well as why and how. Jude had a LOT of work to do and determined to show Tali who he really is.
Tali and Jude end up spending time together and getting to known each other again. Throughout this book you are taken back to the missing years to hear about what they’ve been up to, and how they’ve matured and become stronger individuals. He craves a second chance for the future they never got to have all those years ago, because of his mistakes and bad decisions. Will she give it, considering his past?
Jin, and his friendship with both Jude and Tali was amazing!! And then Tino, his husband and kids, Nina and her happy ever after with Lydia. It was all so perfect!!
This was the Satisfying conclusion for Tali and Jude.
A second chance to get it right
After the first book I couldn’t wait for this one. You find out years ahead to see what Jude and Talia are doing. Your heart goes out as Jude tried for a second chance but Talia isn’t going to just agree, she will make him have to work for it after all that he’d done. Trust has to be earned and he is up to the task! Will they get their second chance? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Okay, Jude married someone not Tali then continued his downward spiral of bad decisions and worse choices and fell flat into addiction.
I liked that Tali grew up and had a life after book one, though she sure held on too long.
Now, many years later and in their thirties, can Jude make amends and prove he’s actually grown up, finally?
Will he be a better man this time around?
It’s come out of my mouth many times that “if it’s meant to be, it will come back around.” Such is true with Tali and Jude. The work had to be put in as time could heal wounds, but forgiveness needs to be proven and said. I liked that even though there was much love between the two, the road to forgiveness was rocky. Hearts were crushed and loss and addiction were in the forefront. I respected that the time apart was so long. Bodies had to heal before hearts. I loved the 6 week journey of mending any relationship they had, discovering each other as they were discovering the world around them. There was always longing and sexual tension, but they built their foundation from the ground up. I loved hearing more about Ben to understand him more, but it also tore me up. This was a beautifully heartbreaking story and I loved every tear-inducing moment of it.
Tali and Jude absolutely crushed me emotionally. These two characters have a rollercoaster journey that is filled with every emotion imaginable. One of the best duets of 2019!! I love these two and the other characters that make encore appearances. Words cannot do this story justice so all I can say is just read. You will not be disappointed.
Never Again is book 2 in the Never Blue series and it needs to be read after book 1, Never Lasting. If you have not read book 1, this review may contain spoilers to that book. The death of a best friend devastated Jude which led to his self destruction of his band and relationship with Tali. Being young and innocent they didn’t realize their relationship would not be able to survive this loss. Now years later and older, will they finally have a second chance at happiness? Their relationship is not an easy one and the author keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know more. She takes you on an emotional ride with some great moments of laughter, times of tears, pain and hurt, as well as the honesty that their relationship needs. Tali and Jude’s story spans many years and with it we also get to catch up with Blue is the Color band, which justs add to this story. I am looking forward to other books from this author as she knows how to keep you glued to your kindle from the beginning to the very end.
The second half of Tali and Jude’s story…oh how Julia Wolf did me in! Every story of hers becomes my favorite, and this was no exception.
With this one we learn the rest of the back stories…the whys. She writes knowing how to bring forth every emotion. After finishing Never Lasting (book one), I was left broken and in tears. With book two I was able to find out even more about my new favorite characters…and found myself loving them even more.
Julia wolf never disappoints.
First heartbreaks are as bitter as first loves are sweet. You never forget the taste of either.
Despite having her heart shattered, Tali picked up the pieces and forged on to become exactly who she was meant to be. Now 34, she is the manager of the successful rock band, Blue Is The Color. Jude is a man with so much to atone for. Moving past his bad boy ways, he has worked hard to become a man worthy of another chance. Of all the things he has been able to shake, Tali is definitely not one of them.
In Never Again, Tali and Jude navigate their present situation while taking a few strolls down memory lane. My heart was bleeding for them. All the pieces are put together with honesty, forgiveness, trust, and healing.
