ADVISORY FROM THE AUTHOR: This book contains mature content, including explicit language of graphic sexual situations. To quote a one-star review, “This was a story that felt like it was made just to write a LOT of sex scenes.” And, well, kind of, yes. If you don’t like explicit sex, this is not the book for you. If you like a lot of history in your romances, you may also wish to give this … this one a pass — history pretty much begins and ends with the reference to the Battle of Waterloo. But if you like a spicy story of a nice family in London and a laugh or two along the way, I hope you’ll sit back with a cup of tea (not mandatory) and enjoy. — Maureen Driscoll
Caught behind enemy lines at the Battle of Waterloo, nurse Jane Wetherby is forced to seek shelter with British operative Lord Edward Kellington. After a night of passion, the two are separated. With nothing but the alias Jane used to protect her family, Lord Edward is unable to find the woman he can’t forget.
Seven years later, Jane courts scandal by serving as the unofficial surgeon in the village of Marston Vale. When Edward arrives to formalize his betrothal to a viscount’s daughter in accordance with his late father’s wishes, Jane has no choice but to watch the match proceed. When a threat from the past emerges, Jane must join forces with Edward to safeguard her loved ones. But at what risk to her heart…
NEVER A MISTRESS, NO LONGER A MAID is the first novel in the six-book Kellington saga.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series – all are stand-alone – this was the first but I’d read a few others before it. You feel like the characters are old friends of yours. All have ended happily ever after but what a twisting and turning journey to get there. Highly recommend- I will read them again!
A powerful romance, lovely.
A Lifetime of Memories
ADULT Historical Recency Romance and Second Chance Love
I’ve had this book in my TBR pile for quite a while but hadn’t gotten around to reading it, and I should have read it long ago, because It’s good!
It’s a sweet and lovely tale of Lord Edward, a soldier and spy during the Napoleonic wars …
Delightful romp with spirit. The villain and hidden heir plot was unnecessary and distracting. The action could have come from an adventuress with an agenda to hurt someone in her way. I liked all the parts that weren’t part of the “suspense” and if people are really that bloody stupid when under attack they deserve to die. The interaction between …
Did not want the story to end. So entertaining and full of wonderful characters. Suspense thrown in with a sinister plot. The steamy parts were well written with feeling and style, could have been longer in the love making. Great atmosphere of the period well depicted. A story of family and friends coming together for a great cause. Love the …

“This was a story that felt like it was made just to write a LOT of sex scenes.” ????…nothing can be farther from the truth…. its a beautiful story of love and romance…yes these are some sex scnenes but nothing is too much there… my only complaint would be the endin seemed a bit abrupt… but enjoyed it thoroughly especially the humour….
“Never a Mistress, No Longer a Maid” a début romance novel by Maureen Driscoll is a thrilling Regency Historical romance that spans seven years and begins in Belgium right after the battle at Waterloo. I love this author.
Enjoyed the twists and whimsical turns plus the happy ending. A good read.
What might have been a good read was ruined for me by the unnecessary sex.
