I had a hard time reading this book. It was too unrealistic for me .
This is one of the most insightful sci-fi novels ever. As Fredric Jameson pointed out many years ago, Gibson’s cyberpunk novels are among our best representations of the reality of late capitalism. This is a gripping story, and at the same time a deep and intelligent and valuable one. Strongest recommendation.
A Thought provoking. Mind-blowing story
I re-read Neuromancer every few years, and every time it pulls me right back in. Gibson effortlessly weaves in words he created and technology that didn’t (or doesn’t) exist, and you don’t even notice it. He has a fine ear for dialogue, and his action scenes are gripping. I enjoyed the storyline, but there were times when it seemed like the details got in the way of the story. I don’t know if it was just me or if the author tried too hard to give information not really relevant to the outcome. Overall, I thought the concept was very good, it just lost something in the telling.
Very unusual and imaginative. Definitely a page turner.
