Psychological thrillers are not my thing, but this is a good one.
Intriguing but at times repetitive and sermonizing. Made this reader ponder realistic
subject matter.
This is the beginning of another amazing series by Terry Goodkind. No magic here, just evil and those who recognize it. Kate Bishop is a security auditor working in Chicago for a company that supplies parts for missile guidance systems. In a short span of time, she find out that an uncle she didn’t know very well was murdered, followed quickly by the brutal murder of her mentally challenged younger brother. She learns that her family has a special trait, once triggered; they can see evil in the eyes of murderers. A detective that had been working with her brother explains the phenomenon, and how she learned about it, from a book written by author Jack Raines. Meanwhile, Jack is desperately trying to reach Kate before she becomes another victim. The story is so believable, because of the twisted thinking of the godless left, decimated by the bias media, and the algorithms of left controlled social media giants, Facebook, Youtube, Pinterest, Twitter … The nesting events have all be foreseen in Scripture.
Couldn’t put it down, would make a great mini series.
The story line was promising.
The first few chapters were good to read. A good character was introduced and was engaging. Quickly, the writing turned into “filler” and slow. The lead character was not steady of personality or intelligence. Toward the end of the book, the writing and story picked up again.
Good read, I recommend it.
All of these books and the rest of Brook’s writing are the bedt
Hooked again by Terry Good kind.
I did not care for the book. It was very slow and redundant. Too much of the book was educating the reader of the concept of the book with very little action. It seemed that the author was setting up the basis for a series.
Enjoy Terry Goodkind stories
Exciting from the very beginning. Hoping there is a sequel.
Liked it enough to pay full price for the sequel. Interesting premise.
Book was a bit talky – theories on human nature and the end of the world as we know it – but very interesting and a good read. Of course after finishing you’ll probably want to become a prepper and go off grid. I’m currently looking for a compound in the mountains 🙂
This was a book that I had a hard time putting down! I look forward to reading more from this author.
Too predictable. Not enough suspense
Enjoyed didn’t want it to end
You may need to take notes. A complex and compelling plotline. Very well written and worth rereading.
thought provoking, scary and a should read.
Not as good as his fantasy books but not bad overall.
Not my usual type of book, but am enjoying it so far. Will judge more when I’m done.
Too much drivel…. read 12 chapters and had to quit!
