“Like an explosion”
“Neighborhood Watch” is the final book, in Styol Fantôme’s “Twin Estates” series and quite frankly my favorite. This reads more like a romantic suspense with a bad, bad boy who needs to come to terms with his bad boy ways before every good thing in life passes by him. Our heroine, Tori, running from a broken heart over her infatuation with his twin brother, Liam collides with this bad boy.
We meet Landon at his worst when Tori in a drunken stupor decides to seduce Liam in one last act of desperation. She is…in actuality…seducing Landon, but he doesn’t mention that fact and goes along with the free meal (so-to-speak) placed before him. Tori realizes all too soon that it is indeed Landon who is the object of her attentions. It’s mysterious but then again…perhaps fated… that she continues with the hot and dirty sex until the end. She doesn’t even like him. This entire scene was an epic anger bang (20 or so kindle pages)!!! A rousing start to an interesting tale.
Landon is the brilliant medical doctor who volunteers his time to international charity organizations such as Doctor without Borders. He is also the long-term drug addict that lost his job practicing medicine because of said drug habit. He is a complete asshole manwhore when it comes to women. He is bored with his current circumstances and looking for a distraction… “an explosion” in his life. He sets about planning to engage in some truly nefarious activities centered around his drug habit and his volunteer medical work in Thailand just for pure excitement. Because of an impulse, he invited Tori to go to Bali for a week where his adventure would begin.
Tori even dyed her blonde trying to shake up her life. The out-of-the-blue invitation from Landon to go to Bali seemed like just the thing to jump start her in her quest. She is beautiful and capable. She may not be as brilliant as Landon but she is a no nonsense organizer and natural leader. Feeling discarded and put on the shelf time and time again, she is looking to reclaim her self-worth, value and even her purpose in life.
The story takes us from the beautiful shores of Bali to the frontlines of disease and poverty in the third world. Landon finds his irritation growing at the attention Tori seems to attract from other men. He begins to realize just how special and unique Tori is and that his attraction for her has him thinking about changing his ways. She really proves her mettle when she conquers her natural revulsion and fear in the camp treating the village with an outbreak of cholera by making herself useful to Landon as he administers to the sick and dying. She sets about organizing the staff and supplies and finding a routine which proves invaluable to the mission.
Landon and Tori eventually find themselves in love but bad decisions on the part of the drug addict in Landon and this nefarious world come to haunt him and rip Tori right from his grasp. He pays a terrible price physically for these bad decisions.
At his most helpless, he reevaluates everything in his life. He returns to the US and eventually sees Tori to tell her that once and for all, he is committing to intensive rehab. Still there is no happy ending because wisely Tori does not want to be the “prize” for Landon’s long road back to himself.
Can these two come together? Is their love strong enough to forge a bond that includes wholeness of person along with the wildness of their shared passion? Did Landon realize far too late that the “explosion” in his life that he was looking for was right there waiting for him in the “Twin Estates”.
I didn’t deserve you, but I’m thankful everyday for you. I couldn’t do any of this without you, I wouldn’t even want to. But knowing you exist somewhere out there, that you’re walking around and breathing and smiling, it makes every moment in here worth it. Thank you for making me a better man. Landon
The Twin Estate Series
Book 1 – Neighbors
Book 2 – The Neighborhood
Book 3 – Block Party
Book 4 – Neighborhood Watch
One of those Rare-breed of authors who gives us genuine Bestsellers back-to-back and one of those rare series where every book is BETTER THAN THE LAST!!!! You’d think Wulfric Stone had hot sex with Katya on the piano, or “Hot Surfer” Liam EdenHoff had sheetrock indenting sex with Ayumi Nakada with his dick big enough to be filed as dependant on his taxes , you’d think…ok ! Who could top that ?
But Stylo shoves Dr. Landon EdenHoff in the mix and My-Oh-My, I’d seriously walk to Bali for him. We’d be Lovers-without-borders or something
Landon is a couch occupier in Liam’s house, having lost his practice and direction in life, and he bumps into broken hearted Tori Bellows. She’s nursing a broken heart and misplaced crush leads to mistaken identities and they have one of those explosive sex encounters, you read only in books, where you pull a guys hair and yell his name loud enough that people on the other continent can hear. yeah…that kind of explosive, passionate sex, that leaves her begging for more. But there’s one HUGE problem.
Landon is an ASSHOLE !
He’s obnoxious, rude and plain awful. He couldn’t be MORE different from his twin, Liam.
Landon was the brains to Liam’s heart – he was an actual doctor, a certified cardiologist or some shit. Unfortunately, he was also a chain smoking, vodka chugging, coke addict.
But he has this soft, throaty, authoritative voice that zaps her vagg.
Like Pavlov’s bell to her libido.
And their coming together is like, when a volcano erupts in Iceland and the flights all over the world are disrupted. Meaning the world stands still when they boink. Like the Balcony Scene !! Omg!
Landon is dangerously sexy and lives on the edge, pulling her with him, all it’ll take is one shove and they’ll be over the precipice….or the railing, in this case. She thinks he’s Perfect EdenHoff Gene carrying Adonis and they belong together .
And he thinks “I think we’re hot and horny and you’re ridiculously good at giving head.” yup, that’s our Lovable Asshole Awright! Awright! Awright!
How….when….where…why would they end up together ?
He was a doctor, she worked in a sex club. He’d been valedictorian, she’d shown up late to her own graduation. He was now thirty-three, she was barely twenty-five. Would he really want to be with someone like her?
But Stylo works her magic, sticks them together and walks them all over the world from luxurious Bali to Miserable Thailand and back to San Francisco . On this journey with them, we get a glimpse of golden heart hiding deeeeeeeeeeeeep inside the scared soul of Landon.
And their story is just P.E.R.F.E.C.T.
So completely not perfect that it’s like an accident. Like an act of nature. Like an explosion.
I think this book is THE BEST OF THE LOT! In SHOUTY CAPITALS! Can you please keep going Stylo, give Brighton a book, Brie a book, hell give the entire building their books, cause I don’t want this fantastic series to end.
Get the book, get the series, read them back to back and YOU’RE WELCOME!
5 “Bad Soap Opera” stars
just scanning, looking for something different then the series I got done reading. And let me tell you this book was EVERYTHING!! Right from the angry banging start I was hooked and didn’t move. Moments! I didn’t even pay attention to the fact it was book 4 so I know there has to be more to the story then what I started with but it didn’t take anything from the story at all. Reading the others ones might give you more deeper insight and appreciation, because the book alone was amazing!! These two, spiritually broken and lonely, will make you feel so freaking much as their story reveals itself and it so painfully beautiful.
Tori is life of party. She is that bubbly girl that is always there for friends, always making friends with everyone even the ones that have went out with her long time crush, best friend and boss, Liam. Finally snapping, wondering why not her, she burst in his office, drunk, to show him exactly how she felt. But ended up with his twin and trust me he wasn’t turning her down! Hot!!!!
Landon, doctor, drug addict, huge a$$$$$hole. He knows he is a monster and just don’t care. He will take and take anything and everything she offers and he don’t care of the actions or the consequences. He knows it wrong, but when he takes Tori to Bali with him, as an unknowing drug smuggler. He will continue to take everything she offers even when she offers herself to break if it will help fix him.
A must read, because I don’t think it could have been any better than this. Read as a standalone but definitely no complaints on that part because as it said before it was amazing!!!
Just like Liam’s book I flew Landon’s book.
Landon is so different than his brother in that he was a complete a** but he did have times when he redeemed himself. The only person that he thinks about is himself until he really gets decides to ask Tori to go on a trip of a lifetime. The only thing is he only every wanted to use her in many ways. However, on their trip things begin to change and they realize that they actually have many things in common.
Tori has not had it easy with watching those around her find the ones they love and that includes the man that she loves finding someone else. She decides to go with Landon on the trip of the lifetime to get a way from everything and doesn’t tell anyone where and how she is actually going because she thinks that is what is for the best. However, what actually happens could end everything that she thought she could have.
This was in my opinion the best book in the series and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
I did not think anyone would top Kane and Wulfric for the crown of the biggest asshole, don’t get me wrong I love those guys but Landon has them beat.
Liam and Landon’s stories are my fave in the series, they are total opposites and it’s reflected in their stories.
I love how complex Landon is. He doesn’t shy away from saying exactly how is he. I loved Tori and what I really loved about her is the banter between her and Landon and how she has a smart ass remark for whatever he deems to throws her way.
Possibly my fave read of Stylo and couple, that could change however in the next book because Stylo writes amazing couples.
This entire series definitely has its ups and down with every single book. The first one, Neighbors, obliterated me and made me eager to see what would be the outcome of Katya, Liam, and Wulfuric in The Neighborhood. Although I wasn’t too excited to read about Liam’s story, Block Party, I was on the same wavelength when it came to Landon’s story. As for someone who has to finish series and seek out everyone’s happy ever afters, reading this one was an absolute must. And boy what a treat it was, Landon and Tori’s story was absolutely not what I expected at all. By the end, it was pretty easy to name this book my favorite out of the series!
As you make your way through the series, you become acquainted with Tori and those long glances she gives Liam, she sees herself as someone who is simply just waiting in the shadows for that exact moment to get what she really wants. She’s the ultimate friend you’ll want to have, she’ll always be there for you. But when she feels like she fulfilled her role, everything goes away. As she watches her friends be happy with their ONE, she’s ready for hers. Planning on taking the bull by the horns, she finally takes charge, which went a direction she never thought would happen.
Landon. The twin of Liam. Ultimate bad boy, who just happens to be a doctor. The absolute definition of an a**hole, seriously, if you looked in the dictionary, his picture alone should be there. As much as these two hate each other, well Liam just hates everyone including himself, the attraction is there. And it’s off the charts. At this point, Tori feels like she hit rock bottom and Landon offers the perfect getaway from everything. A bit hesitant, she eventually accepts an all paid trip to somewhere warm and tropical. Little does she know, Landon has other things on his agenda including getting her in his bed, but nothing more.
Man, their love story was a complete rollercoaster, I could barely keep up with them. You couldn’t help but feel sorry for her in the beginning and as she can’t quite get what she wants. And that’s definitely the case towards the end of the book, poor Tori. She never knew what she was getting into when Landon barreled into her life. Landon’s life is just a hot mess, he sees himself as a dark person with no light left in him at all. But deep down there’s so much more to him and once you learn the real reasons why he is the way he is, you can’t help but have your heart break a little bit for him.
Tori is his light and I felt like pretty early on he knew that but refused to accept it because he was so undeserving. Yes, Landon is a complete bastard for the unimaginable things he put Tori in like I couldn’t believe he actually did that! By the time he realizes that, he also realizes how far down he has really gone. And that becomes a turning point for him, well for his life in general. Was there still hope for him to turn things around and prove that there is some good inside of him? Can he be enough for Tori despite all of his flaws?
Absolutely love this book and obviously my favorite of the series, Stylo, please don’t write anymore in this series, I just want it to end with Tori and Landon! Prepare yourself for this wild ride, it’ll keep you on the edge of your seat, and you’ll add another man that you should really hate, but can’t help it and just want to love him. Tori is Landon’s end game, it’s a sight to watch these two evolve. Landon showed Tori how strong of a person she really is, she can endure so much and her light still glows. Landon had so many things going against him, but Tori guided him to be the man she always knew he could be. I’ll be shipping them for life! This book has easily slipped its way into my #RSFaves.
Paging Dr. Edenhoff
Paging Dr. Edenhoff
This doctor isn’t you typical practitioner. No, Landon Edenhoff is a foul mouthed angry asshole. He is moody, rude, and one of the most gorgeous men in San Francisco. He is also a drug addict, couch surfing, mess of a man. To most that doesn’t even sound appealing, but well not everyone has great judgement. Or perhaps it’s the low place Tori finds herself in but Dr. Edenhoff seems to be the perfect solution for right now. If right now is a deliciously naughty go of it in his brother’s club…But Landon isn’t a keeper, he isn’t a catch. No, Dr. Edenhoff is a headache without a cure.
I absolutely love the meaning behind the title. I found it to be spot on. I also managed to develop a thing for an obnoxious, asshole doctor. So sue me! The author can make emotional baggage look like designer couture. It’s not my fault damaged guys are delectable. Just know that this neighborhood has all the drama! Beware vacancies in this building.

So, I was Team Taco, but, after ALL of that (and I do mean ALL of that) I’m Team Asshole and Basket Case because Hello, Emotional Rollercoaster. I went from wanting to take a two by four to both of their heads to wanting to hug them to getting that god awful pressure burning thing behind by eyes warning me that liquid may actually start coming out of them. Then you add on the crazyness and OMG smexy going on…and this book I think has taken me beyond a hangover.
Landon is an asshole. Let’s not even get that twisted, but then slivers of his soul appear which isn’t all black, and show that there truly is more going on beneath the surface and I found myself absolutely fascinated by him and needed to dig deeper and see what really made him tick.
Tori. She vivacious, kind, compassionate, sassy and snarky and is a force to be reckoned with when the situation calls for it. I adored Tori, even when I wanted to reach through the Kindle and stop her from making certain decisions, I adored her because there was an honesty to her that came through in everything she did.
Explosive. I mean, nuclear level explosive is the only way to describe the crazy journey Tori and Landon went on together and separately, hence the cray cray emotional rollercoaster. These two put each other through the wringer and yet they worked even when they shouldn’t have. It was crazy. But there you have it. They worked together on so many levels that they ended up being good for each other in the end.
This book was one hell of a ride. It really was, but it was so worth the emotional upheaval it caused. Watching Tori and Landon evolve and yet stay themselves was quite fascinating. The situations they find themselves in…kinda cray cray and catching up with the rest of the Twin Estates crew was a lot of fun. If you haven’t read the previous books in the series, I highly suggest that you do because they all interconnect and you’ll better understand the ebb and flow of the relationships between all the characters. I’m hoping that there will be at least two more books in the works for this series, since there are a couple more characters I’d love to know more about, so toes crossed!

Hell yeah this book! It started off with a bang and it just kept going. Gawd Tori and Landon are so hot together. I didn’t even care that he was a huge dick to her most of the time, Tori gave it right back. I love a strong female character. I think this was my favorite out of the whole series. I could keep reading about those two forever and ever!
I really did not like Landon. At all…..until the end. He was an awful human being. And the sex scenes seemed more abusive than scintillating. This was 2 stars until the last few chapters, where the amazing a$$hole was redeemed.
You can never go wrong with a Stylo Fantome book and this one is just as good if not better than the rest. I so loved Tori and Landon’s story, fun, fresh and unmistakably powerful in their connection.
~WRITING – PLOT – PACE~
So after choosing to skip the previous book in this series (I wasn’t a huge Liam fan after the second book), I was a bit on the fence about whether I wanted to read about Landon. The guy was a bit of a douche (and he pretty much remained a douche in this book as well). But I had seen a few early reviews that spoke positively about it and the synopsis intrigued me. Plus, I was in the mood for an angsty a$$hole hero read. I was not disappointed. In fact, this book was my favorite of the entire series. The writing was fantastic. The pace was very good. The plot was engaging. It was angsty. It was heartbreaking. It made me laugh. It made me angry. It made me cry. Last, it was all wrapped up in a really great ending <-- maybe a series ending?? ~HERO~ LANDON...OMG was this guy an a$$hole of epic proportions. Like just SO seriously douchy. He was a manwhore (although after getting with Tori he didn't sleep with anyone else). He was a drug addict. He drank too much. His good decision making abilities were subpar (lol). Other than being super f-cking HOT in bed I often wondered what Tori saw in him. But in between all that a$$hole was a sweet and vulnerable man. He grew up. He took responsibility for his actions. He got help. So, in the end, I LOVED him. ~HEROINE~ TORI...I ADORED Tori. I straight up LOVED this girl. She was feisty. She was funny. She was smart. She gave as good as she got. I loved how she called Landon on his shit. When certain truths come to light my heart shattered for her. But I love how she picked up the pieces of her life and moved on. She was a great heroine for sure. ~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~ Honestly, this one was pretty light on secondary characters. We get some appearances of people from the previous books, and I was kind of intrigued by Velez. He was a "friend" of Landon's who I'd love to read more about. Other than those people the story was mainly focused on Landon and Tori. ~HEAT LEVEL~ Medium. There were some SMOKIN' HOT sex scenes in this one. Landon had the dirtiest of mouths and I wanted to read more of it (lol). The frequently felt right for the story and the couple had sizzling on page chemistry. ~ANGST LEVEL~High. This was a pretty angsty read. Like I mentioned the hero was a major douche and did things that hurt the heroine. Neither were virgins. There is a bit of OW drama as Landon hits on some other women and brings one to his room to do drugs (and I assume have sex). He gets interrupted before any clothes come off. <-- this is before they have the "only us together talk" so I wasn't overly bothered by it. The heroine chats up OM, but just in a friendly manner. At the very beginning, the heroine starts (view spoiler) ~IN THE END~ Surprisingly I LOVED it. It was the perfect read for the angsty book reading mood I was in. Well written. Engaging plot. Interesting, damaged, and well developed characters. What more can you ask for? Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two HUGE thumbs up.
Ahhh we finally get the bad twin’s story. Landon is the bad boy doctor who chooses to do bad boy things. While doing them, he never takes into consideration who he is hurting along the way. It’s been that way ever since he was caught using drugs at work.
He flies by the seat of his pants and never looks back. Always searching for the next high. When things get tough at ‘home”, he flies off to do volunteer work in countries that need a doctor. He thrives on the high of helping people.
Tori the sexy assistant manager at The Garden feels like her life is coming to a boiling point. Always there for her friends listening, supporting, planning, you name it…but really, who are her friends? They all have something important going on in their lives but where does that leave Tori?
When Landon propositions Tori with a week vacation to just let it all go. Get rejuvenated and ready to tackle life when she returns, Tori accepts.
There were times in this book that I wanted to jump through my kindle and smack both of them upside the head!
There were times in this story that I wanted to jump through my kindle and give these two a huge hug.
These two could banter back and forth like two old married people and I loved it. Tori grew a backbone and stood up to Landon like nothing was going to knock her down. Landon was a tough cookie to crack but Tori had a way with her words or lack of words that opened Landon up.
I really enjoyed this one! Although going into this book, we already knew a lot of what was to come, from reading the previous books in this series. This book was exactly what it was meant to be! Landon and Tori’s story isn’t a typical love story. There is no way that these two would ever deserve a typical story!
#BookBistroBlogApproved
Stylo Fantome knocked it out of the park with Neighborhood Watch, Landon and Tori’s story is hands down the best of Twin Estates Series!! I absolutely love this book and series!!
I couldn’t not wait for Landon and Tori’s story and it did not disappoint at all! Landon was such an anti hero and a jerk at times but then he would do something redeeming and I couldn’t help but root for him to just get his head out of his ass and get it together!! Tori was the person who was there for everyone else but when she needed the same in return everyone was busy. I see why she took of with Landon for an adventure.
This story was one that could not put down once I started! Landon and Tori had off the chart chemistry and they fought hard and loved harder. Landon had a mouth on him and Tori was sassy and held no punches with her slick mouth. We had some very tense moments in this story that had me hanging on the edge. Both characters experience life changing events and became different people afterwards. I was so happy that Landon was able to become the man I knew he was deep down. Tori finally started putting herself first and it was nice. I also liked that her friends apologized for not being there for her when she needed them the most.
This book hands down was my favorite of the whole series. The writing was solid, the plot held my attention and I was sucked in the whole time I was reading. Everything about this book was perfection! Well done Stylo Fantome!
5.5Stars!
This is the best book in the Twin Estates series and I’ll challenge anyone who thinks differently to a thumb war! I really wanted to write that in shouty caps but I’ve decided to be mature and restrained; even though I’m screaming this at the top of my lungs.
This book is darker and edgier than the previous three books and for those of us that love some angst with our romance there’s plenty of it. As with previous books by Ms Fantome, it’s written with her particular brand of humor that her fans have come to expect. The writing is amazing and so incredibly fast paced; I felt I had just started it five minutes ago and then it ended! I don’t know what I loved most, the beginning or the end, plus there’s everything in between.
“I was lost, and you found me, so I guess that makes us even.”
We got a glimpse of Dr. Landon Edenhoff in Block Party. Liam described his relationship with his twin brother but I feel we weren’t properly warned about how bad this boy really is. Landon’s list of nasty habits include smoking anything legal and illegal, drugs (also legal and illegal), drinking too much, dirty talk and even dirtier sex; he did it all and was unapologetic about it. After hooking up with Tori he gets a brilliant idea to invite her along on a trip he needs to take.
“Don’t go looking for rainbows where there aren’t any.”
“You don’t look for rainbows, they just…appear.”
“Does that make you my rainbow?”
“Maybe it makes you mine.”
“I just wanted a vacation, and some excitement.”
“And?”
“And, I think I got more than I bargained for.”
Poor Tori Bellows, she’s still not over Liam putting her in the friend zone, and she’s wondering when it’ll be her turn to find someone. After quitting her job and hooking up with Landon, a mistake she thought she’d regret, Tori decides to take him up on his offer; fly halfway across the world for a week on a beach with the promise of lots and lots of sex. She’d never imagined he had something else in mind, besides sex. Tori knows this isn’t a smart idea flying off with Landon without telling anyone where or who she’s with.
After spending so much time together they start to reveal secrets, things no one else knows about the other, that they’ve kept locked up. Landon realizes Tori’s always on, with a smile for everyone, even when she’s hurting inside. And Tori discovers the bad boy might just be a hurt boy, a persona he’s adopted, to hide the real Landon.
“She wanted Landon to always be himself, in all his fucked up glory, because he was amazing. A force to be reckoned with, like a hurricane or a tornado.
Or an explosion…”
When they finally begin to trust each other, after a frightening and horrible incident that occurs one night, that hard earned trust is destroyed and maybe permanently obliterated.

Ruthie –
A really strong addition to the series – I would absolutely recommend that you read them in order, to fully appreciate why this is such a good book! It would be good on its own, but with the full story, it is really exceptional.
Landon is the bad twin – although we don’t know why he behaves this way until well into this book. We certainly know he has some serious issues, and it is only a few pages in that we can only fear what is going to befall Tori. She has been an interesting character to date, as she has been on the sidelines, missing out, being hurt, but reacting by being brash and lively. She is unselfish and caring and forgets herself by being bold. She is the person who refuses to let you feel sorry for her and does it by getting there first and shrugging it off. The one thing they definitely share is a very healthy sexual appetite – yep, plenty of sharing that!
It turns out that they are strangely suited in other ways too, because whilst “evil” twin is maybe an overstatement (although maybe not), she gets his dark side, just as he gets hers. That said, for a large part of the book I was waiting for the bad to happen, and really, really not seeing how Ms. Fantôme could possibly retrieve what is a pretty dire situation! There were hints, then it went bad again… but of course, an amazingly complex but very satisfying ending did ensue. Redemption, restitution, and reinvention.
This is a really exciting, and unexpected story, both for its plot, its lead characters, and its outcome. I will have to read them all in one go sometime soon, as I am sure there were more hints that I am forgetting from earlier books, but wow, this packs a punch!

4.5 Gut-Punch Stars
Neighborhood Watch can be read as a standalone, but the emotional payoff would be better if the series is read in order.
Tori is suffering from being friend-zoned by Twin Estates owner, Liam, who happens to also be her newest best friend and boss. She felt this was a ‘passing ships in the night’ scenario, only to find out that wasn’t the case. First Liam was hooked on Katya, then Tori assumed Liam was leaving her be because she was his employee, only to find out he didn’t want her at all when he started dating Wulf’s assistant. Emotionally wounded, Tori ends up with the evil twin.
Tori offered many emotional gut-punch sensations for the reader – that twisted-up feeling that connects you to the character, where you feel sick for them. This is something I look for in a novel and hadn’t experienced it in this series (as often) since book one. Neighborhood Watch is tied with the first in this series as a favorite of mine by the author.
Tori’s a good martyr. She understands that just because she was friend-zoned doesn’t mean Liam ‘had’ to want her back. But the emotions were real, and she doesn’t share them with anyone, even though only Landon recognizes this in her. Landon just looked at Tori and began seeing what everyone else failed to see – she is hurting as badly as he is.
Tori is the one everyone thinks is bubbly and has no problems, because they’re all being too selfish by telling her their problems to listen to their friend. To me, I felt this in previous installments, how their friendships were one-sided. This meant in earlier books, we (the reader) never got to know Tori as anything but a one-dimensional character who drank and listened to Katya’s problems, to learn how Katya felt in any given situation. Finally, we’re inside Tori’s head (a surprising place to be), and now she’s moved on to helping tortured and brooding Landon.
The martyred fixer, and Landon preys upon that early on…
Is Landon misunderstood? No, I don’t think so. All douchebags have ‘good’ parts – they are human beings, after all. What matters is what the bad parts do to everyone around them. An addict doctor with a hero-complex and the need to push people away is the recipe to make panties drop everywhere.
Neighborhood Watch creates many a swooning, frustrated reader, I bet.
Landon heals the body and Tori heals the heart and soul, and they offer a frustrating, gut-wrenching, hotter than hades journey, that has the reader white-knuckling their Kindles. “Oh, no he didn’t!” “Oh, yes, he did!”
I was thrilled to see Tori was slightly more mature than I expected. Instead of being the damsel in distress (sometimes you do need help from others), Tori had the propensity to be the one who rides in to save the day. This maturity made it a more enjoyable read for me, as past heroines were too immature for my tastes, especially when taking their age, professions, and educations in account. So, it was a shock and a thrill to discover uneducated party girl Tori was the most mature of them all, both emotionally and in life skills.
I applaud the author for going down a new avenue. Instead of using the need to gain pity as emotional currency, Fantôme has both Tori and Landon being empowered by their choices. While it could easily have gone into woe-is-me, pity me for how people have treated me territory, which is often a place authors go for their martyrs, readers can learn as Tori and Landon help themselves – empower themselves with a little help from each other.
I highly recommend this series, especially to readers who are looking for a hit of that emotional punch-to-the-gut sensation.

Neighborhood Watch is Tori and Landon’s story! I’ve been patiently waiting for Tori to be a main character because she’s been a favorite throughout the series.
Tori has been a grounding force in everyone’s lives. She’s been the shoulder Katya cried on, she’s been the sounding board that Liam needed. She’s been everything for everyone for so long, that when it’s her turn to need someone to rely on, she’s left in the dust. Tori is funny, she’s strong, but mostly, she feels deeply.
Landon, mmmm bad boy, is known as the “bad” Edenhoff twin. Misunderstood? Yeah, maybe a little. Landon is the “smart” brother, but he’s also very closed-off. His walls are so freaking high, a pole vaulter wouldn’t be able to get over them.
As per usual, I’m not going to summarize the story. I will say this story involved two very unlikely characters that both need some self-healing. The situations they are placed in are exciting and exotic, scary and exhilarating, sweet and sometimes sexy. They may be opposites that need to learn to love themselves, but man are they HAWT together!
I loved book four in the Twin Estates series!
Reviewers on the Wicked Reads Review Team were provided a free copy of Neighborhood Watch (Twin Estates #4) by Stylo Fantôme to read and review for this tour.
I have no idea how to express my tumbled feelings! I LOVED this book! I completely HATED this book!! (And almost abandoned it several times while reading) It is definitely a MUST READ! It had me angry, swooning, heart-racing scared, and so many other feelings in between! I just ADORE when an author can scramble up my insides like this!!
“The man was trouble. Always would be. He was vice and sin wrapped into a ridiculously sexy package, with a healthy sprinkling of damaged- €*% head on top.”
Neighborhood Watch is the 4th book in the Twin Estates series but it can be read as a standalone. You don’t lose anything in this book by not reading the others, but there may be a few minor spoilers if you plan to go back and read the others later. And as a warning, they are ALL amazing and different and so very original that you WILL want to go back and read them all!
“You want me to take out an ad in the paper? You want me to be this certain kind of guy, Tori, and I’m just not. I’m not gonna get you £*% flowers and read you a sonnet or some sh*t. The only things I know how to do are save lives and be an *%#.”
Tori is the fun-time girl who on the surface lets everything slide off her back, but she feels deeply and just hides it from the world.
Landon is the ‘evil twin’ and lives up to that title in every way. I wanted to hate him, and mostly I really did, but I am loathed to admit that by the end, he has won me over!
“…maybe once upon a time, you had a chance to be a good guy. A great guy. €*%# amazing. But you ruined it, and maybe it’s time you grew up and stop blaming other people. You ruined yourself.”
5 Stars!
We met Tori in the previous books in his series. Katya’s best friend and Liam’s employee, Tori has been the one character that’s always been there in the background and I was so excited to get her side of things. Tori has an unrequited crush on Liam but as she watches all her friends turning into couples and finding love, it starts to hit home just how alone she is. This leads to a night of drinking and Tori making some questionable decisions, one that involves her boss’ brother. I really felt for Tori. She’s hurting, alone and sick of always been the one left behind and decides to do something for herself for once.
Landon is Liam’s twin brother but they’re nothing alike. On the outside it looks like Landons doing ok. A good looking, sexy doctor should have his life in order but it’s soon clear Landons life is a mess. Drinking, drug taking and with a massive chip on his shoulder, Landon is kind of a dick but once you get to know him, he’s not really that bad. Having to rely on his brother for somewhere to stay, Landons bored and out for some excitement (which is never a good thing with him). After Tori catches his eye when she mistakes him for his brother, things take an unexpected (and hot) turn and what’s meant to be a one night stand soon turns into an offer of a free vacation. Of course with someone as manipulative as Landon, it’s not as innocent as he’d like us to think.
Landon and Tori’s story is probably my favourite from this series. Tori is very easy to like and Landon is the man that’ll make you hate him while making you fall for him at the same time. They shouldn’t work together but surprisingly they do. What starts out as a hate/can’t be bothered to care relationship soon gets confusing when feelings start changing and the characters true colours start coming out.
Neighborhood Watch can be read as a stand alone (although I highly recommend the previous books in this series).
I love Stylo’s manner of story telling and always feel like I have watched a movie rather than read a book when I finish. Sometimes with 3rd POV books it can feel like the book is talking at you rather than to you but Stylo manages to tell the story in a way that the POV is not a factor.
I love this series, with each book it just gets better and I really don’t want it to end. As always this book is easily read as a standalone however it makes sense to read the series in order to enjoy it fully.
We’ve met Tori in the previous books yet we never really got to know her so I was glad to read her story and get to understand her character. Tori is the steadfast friend of everyone that has seen them all through their ups and downs but now she is left on the outskirts of coupledom. She deserves her own HEA, however her choice of bedmate makes that seem unlikely.
Landon is a douche and a proud one at that, he is the sofa dwelling twin of Liam, Tori’s boss who she has an unrequited crush on. He is a doctor who should be a catch but he should also come with his own health warning and has major issues that have landed him on his brothers settee.
When Tori’s plan to make a play for Liam backfire she finds herself in Landons sights. And when he makes a proposal for them both to get away from their issues with a holiday in Bali on him Tori throws caution to wind. However Landons issues are too big to just run away from and soon escalete causing them both big problems and Tori soon realises nothing is ever really free.
This is a much darker story than the rest of the series and takes us on an emotional rollercoaster like no other. You will want to shake these two and the next minute hug them. Tori and Landon shouldn’t work but their hidden vulnerabilities make them want to work and you will be fighting along with them too.
My absolute favourite in this series that I’m so not ready to end.
