Working with my ex-boyfriend is no easy task—especially when he looks good enough to eat. Flirting with the past is like playing with fire, and I’m bound to get burned.
I should ignore my feelings for him, but I can’t when our happily ever after is finally so close. Threats and ultimatums are made, and revelations nearly bring me to my knees. Since we can’t stay away from each other, he’s … he’s determined to fight to be with me until the end.
Tyler will be mine—no matter who stands in my way.
NEEDING YOU CLOSE is book 2 in the Tyler & Gemma duet and must be read in order.

Oh. My. Goodness!
Sooo good… I have all the heart eyes right now.
I loved Tyler in Maddie and Liam’s story and he has just proven himself even more dreamy in his own one.
Loyal, sweet, sexy and kind – he is everything you want in a book boyfriend.
I had doubts -with all the drama going on- about whether or not they would actually get their HEA, but I shouldn’t have worried.
Yes, there was steam.
Yes, there was drama.
Yes, the secondary characters were amazing.
It was everything you expect from a Kennedy Fox book and it was absolutely fabulous!
I can’t wait to read Noah and Katie’s Duet!
Audio review:
Tor and Lia did an absolutely amazing job with the narration of this book.
One of my favourite KF books!
The deception runs deep but the pay off is so sweet… this book is sexy, dramatic and just oh so perfect.
Mind BLOWN!!! What an ending to this duet!!! I could not put it down, finished it in less than 8 hours with some interruptions thrown in (hockey and kids). But anyway, this was the perfect ending to Tyler & Gemma’s story. Throw in a few twists and OMG! moments and then you sit there thinking ‘What the he*l did I just read!’
I cannot say enough about the duo that is Kennedy Fox, they are serious one clicks for sure!
Whew! After the ending of Keeping You Away I knew there was going to be some intense moments. Kennedy Fox kept me turning the pages not knowing when or what would happen. I am thrilled with the end result for Tyler Blackwood and Gemma Reid, I couldn’t have guessed any of what actually happened!
Not gonna lie, I’m anxiously awaiting Noah and Katie but I might be more excited for Everleigh and Archer!
OMG….
OMG/wow is all I can say, this book definitely kept me on my toes with all the twists and turns! I didn’t manage to predict the ending, I have bitten my nails with all the tension!
Devoured this in one sitting and couldn’t put it down. If you love an intense love story with a slow burn, you will love this book (just make sure you read part 1 first!)
So much sadness and happiness in one book. I really can’t get over how intense some parts were, hanging on the edge of my seat… literally!!
I’m so glad we got to know how Tyler and Gemma’s story has ended, not forgetting her dad Jerry! I also loved how Maddie and Liam were also included again in this book too, their friendship with Tyler is literal GOALS!
This book perfectly sets up the new book in the series Pushing You Away – I can’t wait to read it! How will Noah get back on Katie’s good side? And I am dying to know more details of what happened between Noah and Gabe.
Well done Kennedy Fox, you’ve just made this book and series my new favourite of yours!
Y’all… this second book of this duet… It BLEW MY MIND! If you have been a Kennedy Fox fan for a while, you will know they thrive on epic twists and unexpected moments. What I can say with Needing You Close is that it will literally blow you away! I adored how this one all played out between Tyler and Gemma. The push and pull? So swoony! The drama? Absolutely spot on for the fluidity of the story! Those moments that are jaw dropping? FLAWLESS!
As this is book two of this duet, it picks up right after the first. I love getting immersed into the world even deeper as this story flows and you find out little tidbits here and there that will obviously lead into the other duets of this series. But Tyler?? I swear, he is like every girl’s dream! Romantic, thoughtful, passionate and so protective no matter the circumstances with Gemma. But that spark in Gemma through this one is beyond epic. I may have a bit of a girl crush! The storyline of this one was so amazing. Honestly, I cannot come up with any word right now with how epic this one is. You have heart racing moments, tears flowing at times and so much more with this book. You get such a deeper understanding of why things happened, why things played out the way it did, plus some fun guest cameos that will make you grin ear to ear.
As I have been a fan of Fox since the start, their words just get that much more amazing but I mean, they were from the start but I love how they pull out all these unique plot points! It keeps you fully engaged and guessing from the start! Needing You Close was an amazing story of love, redemption and walking away from the past. It will grip your heartstrings and have you all swoony like for Tyler. I am so looking forward to what is to come with the rest of this series!
A great conclusion to a perfect duet. Tyler and Gemma have been put through the ringer but will they make it to happily ever after? Robert, this man is in a class all on his own! I could not believe some of the stuff that he pulled and just expected Gemma to go along with it! I loved the twist at the end of the book! I absolutely did not see that coming! Tyler and Gemma want more than anything to be together but will not sacrifice the happiness of the other person in order to do that. True love people! This book was just full of sweet and true moments…nothing over the top or unbelievable. Loved it. The way the story with Victoria tied up was a little lacking for me; it seemed to be pushed to the back burner. Can’t wait for the next story though!
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Another great read by Kennedy Fox! I will read anything this author duo writes! I found my love for Tyler in the roommates series and couldn’t wait for his book. Kennedy Fox delivered! I’m so ready for the rest of the series!
This was a great ending to a duet. I loved the ending the characters got and getting to know more about the secondary characters. Ended great with a nice set up for the next duet in the series.
Tyler and Gemma finally got their HEA but not without some drama and craziness. It seemed like Tyler couldn’t get away from his past but surprisingly Gemma helped out even though at times she came across as helpless she was no where close. The things they went thru to finally be together is a total nightmare but the made it. And her meeting Maddie and Liam was priceless. It was nice seeing the reunion between Tyler, Liam and Maddie. He loves Maddie like another sister and vice versa. Maddie is still hilarious. Loved these two.
This was the exact ending to this duet that I was hoping for!!!!
I enjoyed this final instalment for Gemma and Tyler so so so much!!!!!!!!!
Everything I love in a story was in this book -angst, love, chemistry, steam and all the romance you could ask for!
Not to mention…and wait for….the surprising injection of suspense near the end!
Yep – you heard it…there was a surprise in this one that was absolutely perfect for the storyline and character connection!!!!
What a great couple….I loved their connection and the way they understood each other stood out for me in this one!!!!!!
I adore the writing of these two authors together and cannot wait to sink my teeth into the next couple.
Highly recommend these books and these authors!!!!!!!
This might be my favorite duet by Kennedy Fox and that is saying a lot since I have LOVED them all so far! I don’t want to say too much and give anything away but I will say this…you will go on a crazy ride with Gemma and Tyler and it will be so worth it! I have been rooting for Tyler from the beginning and he definitely deserves his HEA. I cannot wait for more in this Ex-Con Duet Series!!
So glad it was basically a month wait for the second part of this duet! The last book, Keeping You Away, ended on a cliffhanger with Gemma realizing how bad her fiance, Robert, was, and also meeting Victoria, who happened to be working with Robert, and also the person who ruined Tyler’s life. I was really worried that Victoria would pull some crap and make things worse, and also for Robert to be even more crazy than before. I wanted to scream at my kindle app a few times because I wish Gemma saw the warning signs and I just wanted to protect them from those two!!
The drama picks up a bit more in this one, but what this second book really solidified for me was that Gemma and Tyler have always loved one another, and that when they love, they really love. You see them coming through in this book not just for each other, but their fellow loved ones, family and friends, and most of all, themselves. You see them fighting for their own happiness and their own love story, and doing what it takes to get there. There’s so much strength in both Gemma and Tyler, but I was especially proud of Gemma this book.
Some additional things that I really enjoyed were that you got to see more letters that they wrote to one another from their friendship/relationship before, and how that mirrored some of the events happening in present time. I loved seeing the friendship circle and seeing them both grow with Everleigh and Katie more, and I loved seeing Liam and Maddie again in this book too! We also got to see more of Tyler’s gym buddy, Ruby, and the friend he was helping out, Eric. All in all, it was a solid conclusion and a really nice start to the ex-con duet series. To be honest, it kind of reminded me of a mix between KF’s previous series that featured Drew and Courtney (This is Reckless and This is Effortless) and then Logan and Kayla’s story (This is Dangerous and This is Beautiful). You get the perfect amount of drama/villain, sexiness, swooniess, and downright heartwarming feels!
I’m looking forward to next duet in this ex-con series since Noah is just coming home from jail at the end of this one, and we get to see if Katie and him can rekindle things!
Book two in the suspenseful yet heated romance of Aria Stradivari and Kace August. Secret are revealed and passion ignites even hotter in this book, ending with the biggest cliffer yet!
In this book our characters learn more about their connection which add more mystery to their romance. We have past secrets revealed from Kace and more danger for Aria. The queen of suspense gives us a brilliant story filled with music and history. A romance that burns hot and holds pain. A mystery that will suck you in and keep you binging all the way through. A masterful piece and a Wicked Song that will fill your soul and beg for more!
WHAT AN ENDING! I swear that every time I finish a book from Kennedy Fox it can’t get better…until it does! This was the conclusion to Tyler and Gemma’s storyline, and it was as explosive as expected! Something I love about the storylines these authors give us is that both of the main characters have their own suspenseful plots within the book, and even more so that they intertwine together while being individual. In this book, Gemma is dealing with the different side of her fiancé that she never experienced or knew about, and of course Tyler is dealing with his past from Vegas that has somehow followed him back home. All through this, we finally get Gemma and Tyler to not only acknowledge their relationship but also actually take the leap. Per usual, I was not expecting the best way of getting played in a book with the secret this couple had but it was so amazing! I cannot wait for the next installment with Gemma’s brother – I am dying to know what happened with him!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Needing you Close was the perfect Conclusion to Tyler’s and Gemma’s story, you had the slow burn a lot of angst and a lot of emotional scenes.
We learn so much about Tyler and Gemma and your rooting for them thought it all. Of course there’s some bumps in the road it wouldn’t be an epic story without it.
I can’t wait to see some glimpses of these two in the next two duets.
This was a must read for me, and I can’t wait to read more from these authors.
These lovely authors know how to write a story and how to grab your attention from the very beginning.
Sublime! This book had all the feels, angst, drama and suspense that any girl can handle! Needing You Close is the conclusion to Tyler and Gemma’s Duet and this book will keep you completely enthralled in this pairs story right to the very end. This fantastic author duo have once again come up with another master piece of contemporary romantic suspense that will keep you in suspense right till the very end! There are quite a few unexpected twists and turns taken in this story and I have to say I was totally blind sided by the way the story unfolds. I want to keep this review short and sweet as I really do not want to give anything away about the story line.
Tyler and Gemma are the first couple in the Ex-con series and I can only imagine what further treats are in store for us fans.
If you like slow burn Southern Town romance with all the drama packed in then look no further this is the series for you.
I really enjoyed Needing You Close, the second book in the Gemma and Tyler duet by Kennedy Fox. It picks right up where the first book left off, and I really enjoyed all the twists and turns in their second chance romance. I was really surprised by how their story ended, and I loved how the authors explained how they managed to come to their ending by filling us in on the timeline. It was a very unexpected and clever way to end the story. I definitely recommend this book, but you must read the first book about Gemma and Tyler before reading this book.
This book was so good I couldn’t put it down and the perfect ending to Tyler and Gemma’s story. You will think you know what is happening and then Kennedy Fox throws a twist you didn’t see coming. This book was heartfelt suspenseful and steamy all tied together by a HEA bow!!! You get to catch up with all the characters we love and learn a little more about the characters in the next books. Thank you Kennedy Fox for another great duet I can’t wait to re read!!! And I most definitely recommend this series and all books by Kennedy Fox.
This was a great ending to this duet. I’m giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
The ending to the first book was what I expected, but I wasn’t sure how it was going to play out in the final book. I wouldn’t say much surprised me, although I thought the twist from the previous book wasn’t as big of a part as I thought it would be in this one. It was barely mentioned overall. However, I really enjoyed this. Tyler and Gemma were great, there was some drama, a happily ever after, and we got a glimpse of what would be coming up in the next duet.
I would have liked a little more of Gemma’s friends, and Tyler’s family. He saw his grandma for one day in the first book, and then we never saw her again. Not sure what was up with that. Ruby was an interesting character, and I wouldn’t mind getting a book/duet featuring her.
There were quite a lot of twists that a lot of people probably wouldn’t see coming, so it was entertaining. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I liked how it all turned out in the end. After being apart for so long, these two deserved each other and their happiness. I’m excited for the next duet, but if I’m being honest, I’m most excited for the third duet. Everleigh was a hoot most of the time, and I think I’d really like Archer.
5 Tyler Blackwood Filled Stars!!!
OMG I almost threw my kindle against the wall when I finished Keeping You Away when Gemma was introduced to Robert’s client and it was the beautiful evil monster Victoria. Luckily I sleep alone bc I drop a few massive F-bombs lol. I was immediately worried for Gemma and Tyler bc they didn’t just have Robert’s dangerous self but now Victoria had showed up. Man, I felt defeated.
Needing You Close picked up exactly where we left off. Tyler’s in Vegas helping Eric hoping to end Victoria once and for all. Gemma just finished dinner with Robert’s client and she’s regretting agreeing she’d stay the night. After finding the proof he was the one who had her and Tyler followed and Gemma is fuming.
Things from this point on will never be the same Gemma and Tyler and those closest to them.
Gemma and Robert have a huge blowup and with the help of Everleigh she gets outta there with Robert telling her no matter what she says they aren’t over. Gemma knows he means it too.
Tyler can tell instantly something’s wrong with Gemma when he walks into work and agrees to wait until after work to talk about what’s going on.
While Tyler’s beyond happy Gemma broke-up with Robert he believes in them too much to jump right in. Tyler wants to be there for Gemma as a friend for whatever she needs. Until she’s ready to truly move on and then it’s game on.
Tyler and Gemma finally decide to take the next step past their friendship and it feels as good as they remembered if not better. But, before these two get their HEA the wolves have come out of their dens and they’re looking for one ugly, nasty fight.
Tyler was all ready and willing to fight and knowing the amazing man he already is would go back to jail to protect Gemma from what was coming. But, Gemma wouldn’t let him. She knew she’d figure out a way for things to go their way.
I am not gunna lie and say I had faith Tyler and Gemma were getting their HEA that they rightfully deserved.
But, Kennedy Fox proved me wrong. When I tell you these two along with Gemma and Tyler 100% shocked me, Gemma’s dad, Katie and Everleigh. The shock was definitely a good one bc I was hysterically laughing right along with them when they showed their winning hand of cards lol.
Tyler has been one of my favorite side characters for such a long time, more so then any other ones ESP since he took such a big sacrifice going undercover and then going to jail. He could’ve sat back and let Liam figure it out but nope. Tyler is a real true friend!! And, he’s an even better boyfriend. I need to him me Tyler Blackwood!!
Gemma was another one I really liked. She annoyed me a bit in the first part but she truly grew on me this second half of the duet.
One thing that bothered me was Victoria. While I’m happy with the end result….. I’m not happy with how it happened. She is such a vile, nasty, evil person that I wanted her to truly truly suffer and suffer miserably after the chaos and destruction she caused for so long. In my opinion she got off way TOO easy.
I’m very sad this duet is over. But, I am looking forward to Noah and Katie getting their HEA bc from what we’ve seen of Noah there’s so much more of their story that hasn’t been said yet and man am I all ready for it.
I am hoping and praying that if not in Noah and Katie’s duet then it better be in Everleigh’s duet I’m going to NEED Liam and Maddie to come visit Tyler like they promised. Bc, I am dying for Maddie to join in on these three girls night!!!
