Happy Ever After doesn’t end at the Epilogue. The Epilogue is really only the beginning. For us, it’s meant sharing every high, every low, and loving each other even more when we come out the other side still standing. He’s everything I’ve always wanted. My best friend. My lover. My husband… long as I get to wake up to Angel in my arms every morning and get to tuck our girls into bed at the end of each day I’ll be the happiest man in the world. Nothing can come between us, nothing can tear us apart.
Only…I have one regret. One that is still a black void in my head.
Every year it’s the same.
The regret.
The self-loathing for the man I was back then.
The anger that I’d taken something from the woman who has given herself to me so freely and being unable to remember a single second of it. This year it’s worse for me. It’s slowly driving me crazy.
Maybe it’s time to hit rewind and give us both a do over for that night.
Maybe what I really need is a memory to replace that empty blackness that is trying to swallow me whole.

The Novella is about Drake and Lana and how they’re doing after all these years together and their 4 little girls but it also involves the other characters from the other books, like Harrison and Lucy’s wedding plans. In here, tells how Drake has always felt kind of bad how his relationship with Lana had started; by taking her virginity and the next night sleeping with someone else because he didn’t remember being with Lana, causing their separation) He’s always felt bad that he took something precious from his Angel and can’t remember it. With each year on Thanksgiving and Christmas, the dark hole in his heart widens more because of it. He’s never forgiven himself that he was so drunk he couldn’t remember that night, causing the guilt he already felt stronger than before. You can feel his struggles at remaining sober at the time, specifically when his anniversary approaches. SO he decides to recruit Lucy into taking care of his little girls to give him and Lana a second re-due of what was supposed to be a special night for Lana. He wants to make that day something to replace what had happened before. Honestly the Stevenson brothers truly are the best 🙂
Lana is content with her life as a wife to her Demon husband, Drake and as a mother of her four little angels who she adores but lately it’s been exhausting, having no time for herself and has noticed that Drake has become distant and doubting herself because of it. She doesn’t know how Drake feels about the approaching of their anniversary. She was determined to find out no matter what. I cried when she did, you could feel her love pouring out Drake and willing to do everything she could to make him feel better, so of course she agreed to his plan when she found out. It was beautiful 🙂
Also, I loved how here it shows all the rocker family members, including a short subplot in regards to Harris and Lucy and how she feels with pressures of her wedding plans that are being conducted by her sister/adopted mom, Layla, Natalie and Emmy. We got to see how that little problem was resolved when Devlin lit into Natalie and Jesse into Emmy and Layla concerning Lucy’s issues with her cutting caused by stress. We also heard afterwards by other people, how Harris lit into Natalie for causing his Lucy that amount of stress because she didn’t want the big of a wedding. We also got see, Shane and Harper and their two kids, Violet and Mason (who’s Lana’s favorite because he reminds her of Drake). You know, in this novella, there’s a lot of laugh, cry, flush due to sexiness, and day=dream because this has it all. I especially loved the epilogue where it shows that after spending that time making new memories and replacing bad ones with the good, Lana became pregnant again. It was hilarious when Drake and Lana were in the birthing area and got the surprise of their lives when the doctor announced it was a boy (they thought they were having a girl, lol) and finally getting her dream, her little own mini-Drake, who was named Damian Shiloh 🙂
