Evan Bishop is your typical hotshot doctor. Hardass, brooding, and all business. Instead of working on the family ranch, Evan broke the mold and became an ER doctor. He’s good with his hands—in more ways than one—smart as a whip and is the definition of God’s gift to women. Being a gentleman is in his Southern roots, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t flawed. Exclusive dating has never been a top … never been a top priority and his tragic past makes him stay at arm’s length. Deciding to let loose for a wild night, he takes a page from the Bishop brother’s relationship book and hooks up with a mysterious girl he’ll never have to see again, which is perfect for this self-proclaimed bachelor.
Emily Bell is a city girl through and through but is determined to get away from her family and past. All she wants is a fresh start and to make a name for herself in the medical field. No random hookups and no dating coworkers—that’s her new motto after being burned time and again. When she agrees to attend a wedding as a plus-one, she’s soon ditched and left to drink solo—but not for long. Mr. Suit is the ultimate temptation with his Southern charm, messy blond hair, and irresistible sex appeal. Everything about him screams bad news, but he makes her reconsider her rules just for one night.
After all, some rules are made to be broken.
They want the same thing—one night of passion then they’ll go their separate ways. No cuddling afterward. No next day phone calls. No awkward goodbyes. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll be obvious when they report to work on Monday morning.

Needing him by Kennedy Fox is the second book in the Bishop Brothers series. Although it is a stand alone, I feel that you should read at least the first book, Taming him before diving into this one.
Evan Bishop is the anomaly in the family. Having no desire to be a full time ranchers, she opts to become a Doctor instead. Emily is the exact opposite, choosing to join the family business while still making a name for herself can’t be easy. It’s no wonder that these two start to bunt heads from the very beginning.
This book is amazing, don’t get me wrong, but it is very predictable. I found that by about half way through I was comparing these characters to Travis and Viola and finding more similarities than I hoped for. Both characters are well written, but having been given a glimpse of Evan in ‘Taming him’ I was slightly disappointed that we got a different version in his story.
Enough with the negative! I am a sucker for doctor romances, so this definitely hit the mark for me. The ending was perfect and brought the story to a close nicely and left with no unanswered questions. Although this was not my favorite book, I can’t wait to see what these ladies have in store for us next.
Definitely one of my Favorites series to Date 5 stars
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author…We have the second installment of the Bishop brothers, Lordy, Lordy, everytime I read about one of these hot cowboys, I want to go to Texas, in away though I am glad this is fiction because I would be in trouble. Evan though has almost everything you could want, he is gorgeous, alpha hot doctor, again Lordy. We meet Emily who catches her disgusting boyfriend cheating on her but she doesn’t just take it she humiliates him and his cohort by taking their clothes giving them no option but announce to the hospital that they were doing the nasty by having to leave the on-call room naked..(loved that part). She relocates to start fresh but does not begin on good footing with Evan when she also steals his clothes after a night of pleasure but there was a misunderstanding..Anyhoo this was fun and can’t wait for next installment please..Enjoy!
Kennedy Fox is an amazing duo that has out done themselves with this book.
I could not put this book down because Evan and Emily have such chemistry that it was basically coming off the pages.
Evan is a conformed bachelor that is married to his job as a doctor. Even though his is this so called bachelor his is a hot, dominate, alpha, cowboy/doctor with true southern manners.
Emily is trying to start over and build a name for herself. She is a strong, independent women that is also married to her job at the hospital. What happens after one night stand with the most dominate man she has meet?
Evan and Emily many have not started off on the right foot but they most certainly now how to make up for that. With Evan being one of the Bishop boys I knew this book was going to be hot and was definitely not disappointed. This book also had a really got plot/story line that kept me on the edge of my seat because I truly never saw the twists coming. There were also many laugh out loud moments, that I really enjoyed because it really lighted up the deep story line/twists.
I cannot wait to read John’s story and also find out more about all of the Bishops.
I have to say I love this series but I the most anticipated book for me is Jackson’s book. He is funny. I love the banter in the Bishop family. They lo e each other fiercely. And these brother are each meeting their matches one by one.
The second book in the Bishop Brothers series “Needing Him” by Kennedy Fox is a wonderful addition to the series.
We have moody cowboy/Doctor Evan and his story as well as getting caught up with everyone else.
Such a great read … the review is up at http://desireforlit.com/2018/07/08/needing-him-kennedy-fox/

So this morning my stupid neighbors decided to wake me up at like 7am by ringing my doorbell to get into the building after they had kept me up most of the night banging around upstairs. However on the plus side that gave me a few hours to start this story and ultimately finish it because I could not put it down! Seriously I devoured it only a few short hours and LOVED every freaking minute of it!
After reading Taming Him back in January I’ve been anticipating Evan’s story for two reasons. Number ONE he is a cowboy (OMG so freaking hot…save a horse, ride a cowboy) and number TWO a doctor! What a perfect combination if I do say so myself. He is hands down one of my favorite new book boyfriends…I mean just look at that COVER!
Needing Him is the second book in Kennedy Fox’s highly anticipated Bishop Brothers series. Evan and Emily’s hot and heavy chemistry immediately drew me in and their one of a kind personalities dominated my heart! Their story is a real page turner and will surely keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end!
Although these books can be enjoyed as standalones I strongly encourage you to read them in order so you don’t miss out on some backstory! GOSH now I cannot wait for the next book in the series because I am officially in BISHOP BROTHERS la la land!
I am completely thrown by this book. Kennedy Fox continues to outdo themselves with every new romance; seamlessly blending steamy with intriguing. I’m thoroughly swept off my feet by hot-shot doctor Evan Bishop. He knows what he wants and he’s not afraid to go after it. After a passionate night (and hysterical morning) with a gorgeous woman at his brother’s wedding, he’s thrown for a spin when the sexy siren, Emily, shows up in his ER as his new coworker. And now the sparks FLY! There’s something different about the energy of an enemies-to-lovers romance: the tension that builds between Evan and Emily explodes. He’s controlling and a hothead but she’s not afraid if a challenge.
As the two clash they seem to realize there’s more between them than just attraction. But as Evan begins to understand his feelings for Emily, a danger looms from her past threatening her life. With a sinister stalker following her every move the story gains more and more suspense. With a cataclysmic climax Evan and Emily gave to fight for their future, before it flatlines. And not to leave readers without; KF dangles the carrot of one JUICY story for quiet twin John that has me DESPERATE for what the heck just happened! Add this five star Bishop to your TBR NOW!
am totally in love with this series and family the Bishops. Evan and Emily’s story did not disappoint Being a hot sexy doctor and getting left after a one night stand stings even more when she steals your clothes and then you find out she lied about who she was when your new doctor turns up on the Monday morning. This is an eating hot Series you won’t want to put down. I can’t wait to read more about the brothers and Johns story looks like it will be amazing. A highly recommended series and authors.
5 STARS FOR NEEDING HIM!! This book is freaking fantastic!! I love the Bishop Brothers, but Evan has became my favorite one. Evan a hot as sin doctor with all that southern charm is wow, just Wow. Evan and Emily has a fun, sexy, enemies to lovers story to tell you. Kennedy Fox is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
Barreled into this one after having tasted and enjoyed the first one in this series. This one has it all I would say when it comes to a contemporary that packs a punch in the romance department. The characters in this one are Evan the brother that is a doctor with Emily who pulls one on him but oops she is a doctor too with the fun begins even more when they cross paths or come face to face haha. Humor and romance with this story with this brother being also one that his touch could cause a trip to the ER. You also get another dose of the brothers with you just eating them up. A touch of suspense is also in the works with this being one well rounded read.
“This women is my undoing, and I never knew it’d be possible to feel this way again. I stopped believing in that notion years ago, but Emily’s awaken something inside me, and I’ll do anything to keep it this time”
I have a new Kennedy Fox favorite! Evan and Emily where perfection! I freaking love the alpha male feel I got from Evan and the sassy push you get from Emily. Evan has always had women fawn over him, then he meets Emily and all of that changes.
The chemistry between them is unbearable at times it’s so hot! They love to push each others buttons to a point where they want to rip each other clothes off. While reading Taming Him, my head always went to Evan because he is the one who broke the mold of who the rest of his brothers are. He is the one who didn’t follow in his fathers footsteps.
I loved everything about this book! From the prologue I just knew I was going to fall in love with these characters. The story line is perfect. There is laughter, drama, amazing family moments, HOT SEX scenes and you get to visit a little with the couples from the Checkmate Series!
I also really enjoyed the development with River’s character. She becomes the little sister considering Courtney isn’t there. She had a few funny parts that had me laughing out loud. She really steps into that sister character. There is also some drama from their past that pops up on them unexpectedly, which leaves you with just enough suspense.
I loved being in Evan’s head. I got exactly what I wanted and what I was hoping for in Evan’s story and it set up John’s story perfectly. I cannot wait to continue this series! Is June here yet?
“‘That’s a good look on you,’ I tell him when he’s close enough to hear me. He lifts an eyebrow and smirks before he leans over and whispers in my ear. ‘We can practice making one of these tonight.’ I bite my lower lip and shake my head at him. ‘Somehow I didn’t expect you to say anything else.'”
5 Owls!
I love how Kennedy Fox books can go from emotional to laugh out loud fun in a matter of words! I laughed, I cried and omg that epilogue was one that has me needing John’s book like RIGHT NOW!!!!!
Evan and Emily are two very driven individuals who are married to their jobs! They love what they do and take it seriously! When given a chance both embark on a fun wild night only to discover that instead of one night they will see each other pretty much EVERYDAY! Both of them have their patience tested and go back and forth between hate and lust!
There are twists and turns along the way and let me tell you, even if you think you know what will happen YOU ARE WRONG!!
Book 2, series bishop brothers, I enjoyed reading Evan and Emily love story. I loved the fact that we got to see his brothers, sisters, mama and their dad. I can’t wait to read john’s story
It’s no secret that these Bishop Brothers have stolen pieces of my heart the moment they were all introduced and started to charm the pants off of me the more I got to know each and every one of them. But hot damn, I think I found my new favorite KF book, and it has Evan and Emily’s name all over it. The entire doctor and enemies-to-lovers theme all bundled up into one just worked spectacularly. It was carried out so thoroughly, even with an added hint of suspense in it, that there’s not a chance you won’t be wrapped up in everything going on.
Dr. Evan Bishop was a bigger douche than I thought he’d be, but he was also so much more. Even though he made me want to throat punch and karate chop him in the nuts in the beginning, he certainly made up for it later on and even leveled up his swoon game—I lived for the closet romantic that he was. And then there’s Dr. Emily Bell, whom I just wanted to cheer on and shout “atta girl” to, every time she bickered and went toe to toe with Dr. Bishop. The girl wasn’t only smart and passionate and funny, but she also had spunk and a backbone, and I adored her so much more for it.
What I truly enjoy about enemies-to-lovers romances is the comical banter, and the spark and tension that oozes out of the characters and the story itself, and Kennedy Fox has delivered that in spades. The chemistry between these two ER doctors were just jumping off the pages and I wanted more of them even until the very end.
{I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review}
“Needing Him’ is such an amazing story! Kennedy Fox’s writing continues to get better and better. They have written a truly wonderful love story. I know I say that couples are perfect for each other a lot but Evan and Emily are Truly made for each other. They are the perfect paring. They challenge each other and protect each other. I love them so much!! They both don’t want anything serious but can’t deny the unbelievable sexual attraction and tension they have towards one another. Even when they can’t stand each other.
“Just the thought of her pisses me off and excites me at the same time.”
This is the sexiest Kennedy Fox book to date! Evan and Emily’s chemistry is off the charts! God they are so HOT!!!
“The magnetic pull is forcing us together, and the chemistry we have is electrifying and undeniable– it’s what drew us together in the first place.”
This took surprising turns that were so good!! I loved every exciting minute of it! Evan and Emily’s story was so much fun to read. I couldn’t put it down. I love this couple and this story so much! I can’t wait to re-read it! It was so sexy and Evan and Emily are so wonderful. I Love this book so much!!! These Bishop boys and their true loves have my heart!! This book is so much better than I can even explain! I love it and you All need to read it!!!
“And to think it all started with a dare.”
Readers better be ready for resident hard ass, Dr. Evan Bishop, because not only is he one hell of an ER doctor, but he’s also an alpha male to his core, which means that even though Dr. Emily Bell pushes his buttons and pisses him off, he’s unwilling to give up control or be undermined by the woman who was supposed to be a one-night stand but now seems to always be around, defying him and daring him to give into the undeniable attraction and the chemistry between them because it’s more than obvious that one night is not going to satisfy either of them, regardless of how much they piss each other off and how many mixed signals Evan seems to deliver.
Evan Bishop may be one confusing and broody bastard, but he’s also an amazing doctor, rancher, and sibling, even if his brothers may deny that fact. Evan may have earned the Mr. Undateable nickname, but now that he’s had a taste of Dr. Emily Bell, he can’t seem to walkaway no matter how much effort he puts into battling his desires. And, even though he’s a total prick to Emily at the beginning, once his stubbornness allows Emily a chance to explain, there’s no stopping him from claiming her once and for all, no matter what obstacles stand in their way.
Emily Bell may come from a long line of prestigious doctors, but she hasn’t relied on her last name to advance her career; she’s worked her ass off and proven herself a fantastic doctor in her own right, and it’s her strength and intelligence that allows her to go head-to-head with a man who refuses to make things easy on her no matter how much he wants her and she wants him.
There’s definitely a battle of wills when Evan and Emily are in the same ER room or any room for that matter, but what’s also abundantly clear is that the sexual tension that surrounds them is far too overwhelming not to give into, so the fact that these two go from screaming at one another to tearing each other’s clothes off makes a whole lot of sense, even if it frustrates the hell out of them both.
When the Bishop brood is together, there’s never a dull moment, whether it be the Bishop brothers meddling ways, knowing just how to wind one another up, or Mama Bishop putting them in their place, this family is always entertaining and they’re bonded in a way that illustrates just how close they are and what they’re willing to do to have one another’s backs at all cost.
Needing Him is definitely a steamy read, but it also has suspenseful, dramatic, and hilarious scenes that make it one hell of an entertaining read.
Bring on the next Bishop brother book!!
4.5 Poison Apples
“Emily Bell is going to ruin me and everything I’ve tried so hard to avoid. She just so easily came barreling into my life, and now she’s inescapable.”
Is it possible to be in love with all the Bishop brothers? I think it is! Evan Bishop is so reserved and serious that you can’t help wanting to break down his walls and find out what lies beneath his strong suit. I was super curious about Evan while reading Taming Him and I knew I was going to love him just as much as I loved Alex.
I absolutely fell for Evan’s character and though I called out most of what would happen in his story, reading as it unfolded was so much fun. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes. I always enjoy the banter and steamy “hate” looks that the characters give each other, along with all the sexual tension. It just makes for a very entertaining read.
Although I wasn’t a very big fan of Emily, I still enjoyed the story. Some of her reactions and decisions irritated me and I found myself having to power through a couple of her chapters because I couldn’t root for her when her thoughts were making me want to punch her in the face. Even so, I enjoyed the way her relationship with Evan evolved.
“I’m falling head over heals, and there’s nothing there to catch me—just Evan.”
I can’t wait to read the rest of this series! With those bits and pieces of Jackson and John thrown into Evan’s story I have become that much more anxious for their books and can’t wait to “watch” their love stories unfold!
*A huge thanks to Inkslinger PR and Kennedy Fox for providing me with an eARC for review. All thoughts are my own.*
MY OH MY
Dr. Evan Bishop is in, and I am not ashamed to say that I would totally fake being sick just to have him give me a check up!Emily and Evan’s chemistry was crazy hot. My fingers burned with each page turning. I couldn’t get enough of their banter. Evan is definitely a hard ass, but Emily knows how to dish it out just as much as him. They were hilarious, sweet, and wild all in one. I was so excited from the first page until the end, my enthusiasm didn’t change. This book IS JUST THAT GOOD! Both characters are so loveable, and their relationship is seriously #goals. I loved Emily and Evan so much I read my arc about 4 times within the last week. It was everything and MORE. Kennedy Fox gets me every single time, each book is always better than the next. Leaving me an emotional happy mess. I recommend this book sooooo hard.
Needing Him is the second book in the Bishop Brothers series by Kennedy Fox. This enemies-to-lovers doctor romance has to be one of KF best books. I don’t think I have laughed so much in any of their books.
Emily Bell and Evan Bishop met at Alex and River’s wedding; Evan dared Emily to catch the River’s bouquet, the best way to start a drunken wedding one night stand. First funny part happened the morning after with clothes being taken and having to call for help. Two days later, Emily starts her new job and her one-night stand just happens to be her new co-worker. Will sexual chemistry find a way to bring Evan and Emily together? Of course, it’s going to fun watching them fight it…
The brother’s bantering with each other is the best; I think Jackson is my favorite with Evan a very close second. Favorite part of the book had to be the last trauma that came into the ER before the climax. I about fell out of my chair laughing so hard at what Evan had to do. I loved the little surprise of whom was at a birthday party.
Overall, this was a great book and that ending was the best. Can’t wait for John’s story and to see what is going to happen next with the Bishop Brothers!
