She’s free from the confines of her father’s control.
He’s the man hired to keep her out of trouble.
For Braden Clark, getting paid to watch over a city girl on vacation seems too good to be true. She’s hot as hell and determined to test her newfound boundaries, something he finds both sexy and arousing.
Juliette Collins is eager to play and discover everything else she’s missed in her … everything else she’s missed in her sheltered life—including the hot, muscular guy that seems to be everywhere she looks.
But what happens when she discovers his secret? That he’s been paid to watch over her all along?

I’ve been anxiously awaiting Juliette’s story and I was not disappointed. When Juliette finds out that her controlling father has been hiding the fact that her mother is alive and she has two sisters from her, she finally pushes away and goes to meet them. But daddy-dearest isn’t going to let her go that easily and hires Braden to watch over her and report back to him all summer. What Braden doesn’t expect is to care about Juliette so deeply, so quickly. The story is fast-paced and intriguing. You really experience Juliette growing in to her own woman and doing things she’s always wanted to do. Excellent story!
Each book in this series just keeps getting better than the last… Juliette story is really sad especially when you would think she was the lucky one who had a father and a lif of priviledge but after finding out the truth the heartbreak is devastating so many lies and so much time lost and wasted.. Braden never expected to fall so hard for Juliette especially when she started out as job but as time passes and the truth goes untold and feelings get deeper it just gets harder to tell heaven when trying to do the right thing..
I absolutely love these sisters and so glad the three of them are a real family now and happy …looking forward to seeing if Andi gets her HEA like her brother and sister in laws….
This was a short quick read packed with so many emotions. You wouldn’t feel like the story fell short; it was so very well written.
Juliette is the last of the Ward Sisters. She was raised by her father and was raised to believe that she was an only child and that her mother had passed away when she was an infant. Then one day she discovered it was all a lie. She set out to find her two sisters. And to her surprise once she met them she realized that they’ve always been searching for her. The sisters bonded immediately. In her quest she meets Braden.
Braden is a private investigator that was hired to keep an eye out on Juliette but he didn’t mean to fall for her. Once he got to meet the beautiful woman and find out more about her he couldn’t help falling in love with her. But he was afraid of moving forward with a woman because he was scorned in the past because his first priority is his ailing dad who raised him on his own. But Juliette isn’t like his ex.
These two relationship progress and Braden is there every step of the way to hold her hands while she intents to enjoy some independence since she was raised very sheltered by her father. There was a minor bump in the road but it was resolved in a blink of an eye.
It was good to read how the other sisters were currently doing in their respective relationships.
It’s official. I’m addicted to this series. With each book I’ve fallen deeper in love with every character and ended each one already needing the next book! Freed finally brings home the missing sister we’ve all been waiting for, Juliette. I admit, I wasn’t sure if I’d like her as much as Halley and Phoebe but honestly, Juliette just be my favorite! Her sweet and warm personality is easy to love and she has a quiet strength to her that makes you cheer her on as she finally gets her freedom from her sheltered life and reunites with her family.
Like most of the heroes from Carly Phillips Braden is a man you can’t help but fall for. Protective, gentle, and seriously sexy. I couldn’t help but be a big swoony mess while reading with how perfect he was with Juliette. Their sweet romance could have easily been overshadowed by the secrets surrounding them, but Carly perfectly blends the swoon and the secrets in a way that keeps you glued to the pages dying to know what’s next!
We finally get to meet the third sister, Juliette, who was raised by her father and who Halley and Phoebe have wanted to find. Well, she finds them, or at least her father found them and she discovered he knew about them all along. Betrayed and done being manipulated by her father she sets out for Rosewood Bay to find her sisters and her independence. Her father, in his overbearing way, hires a private investigator to keep track of her but little did he know it would backfire. Braden Clark falls and he falls hard for Juliette. He knows it is wrong but there are other forces in his life and even though he tries not to he cannot help it. These two were made for each other and even though they met under suspicious circumstances (even though Juliette didn’t know at first) they form a bond that cannot be broken. This one can be read as a standalone but really why would you want to. This series is great and I am looking forward to Andi’s story!
Juliette Collins grew up with an overprotective father, always thinking she was an only child. One day she finds papers showing that she not only has two half sisters, but a mother too. Her father has kept track of them through the years. After an argument with her father, Juliette sets off on her own to meet her sisters in a little town called Rosewood Bay, never knowing her overprotective father has hired Braden Clark to keep an eye on her and report back to him.
Braden Clark, retired cop and now a private detective lives in Rosewood Bay, and when Juliette’s father contacts him, he is happy to take the job to help pay towards the bills for his father’s care. When he meets her, he can’t help but feel the attraction between them, and it’s mutual. As their feelings for each other develop, Braden is forced to make a decision, give up the girl, or tell her father he no longer works for him and hope she never finds out.
Carly Phillips brings us another great story in the Rosewood Bay Series.
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
Freed is the third installment of Carly Phillips Rosewood Bay series and it’s another great addition to the series.
Juliette Collins has grown up as an only child with her father as her only parental figure. Even though Juliette is fully grown at twenty-six, she has stayed with her father to help him out after he had some heart issues. She manages his calendar and attends events with him when needed. When she needs a gift for her father’s upcoming birthday, she goes to find his wine list in his safe, but stumbles upon a private investigators report that not only shows she has two half-sisters, but also that her mother has been alive her entire life after being told she died when Juliette was a baby. Knowing she’s been lied to for years and needing to take control of her life, Juliette sets her sights on leaving New York and heading to Rosewood Bay in search of her sisters.
Braden Clark is in the protection business in Rosewood Bay. He and his partner have an active business and so when Braden is contacted about keeping tabs on a city girl who will be spending the summer in Rosewood Bay, he thinks it will be an easy assignment. What is it they say about easier said than done?! Braden quickly learns how sheltered Juliette has been, but he also learns what a wonderful person she is and he’s drawn to her. As the two begin to spend more time together, he realizes he likes this girl for who she is and the fact that she is his “job” is going to likely cause big trouble in the end.
Braden and Juliette continue to get to know one another and lean on one another quite a bit. Both have things going on in their respective lives and the support they receive from one another is invaluable. I loved how patient both Braden and Juliette were. They are going through different things, but they both have reason to be patient and they both have it in spades. The question becomes will the things they are both dealing with independently going to threaten the blossoming relationship between the two?
As always, Carly Phillips tells a fantastic story and you get lost in the wonderful small towns she creates. She is always a one-click author for me and this book is no different. I definitely recommend picking this one up!
It’s not what you know that can prove the most dangerous, but the secrets you don’t. Freed is one woman’s journey to break away from all the negativity in her life and grab some happiness for herself. Along the way she discovers she never really knew herself at all. Carly Phillips inspires women with her gritty heroines and hard nosed heroes. Juliette is a princess locked in a gilded cage. Braden is no white knight, but he finds his true strength when he looks at the world through Juliette’s innocent eyes. She makes him want to be a better man. He encourages her to be a braver woman. What happens when the fantasy of a happy ending hits a brick wall? An epic battle that will have you believing in the power of true love. Rosewood Bay is the place to go to find out what you were meant to be. It’s not about the possessions one has, but strength of heart that guides the way. Love this series.
After the shock of a life time, realising she has been lied to all her life by her father. Juliette Collins’ decides to break free from her emotionally black mailing and controlling father. She is 26 years old but has led a pretty sheltered life caring for her father ( who has heart problems )
Deciding enough is enough she leaves to track down her sisters, unsuspecting that her father has made arrangements for a Private Eye to follow her to ensure her safety.
Braden has his own problems, but following a spoilt princess around and getting paid for ‘babysitting’ is one he will happily take. A specialist home for his ill father is not cheap, and every job will help towards paying for his care.
I hadn’t read the previous two books in this series which were Juliette’s sisters books, Phoebe and Haley’s…and honestly this story gave a lot of insight into the two sisters pasts I felt that I was up to date with their stories.
Juliette was a likeable character and I was glad that she stuck up for herself and didn’t allow herself to be controlled by her father, her mothers or even Braden’s actions… yes he had sincere motives, in that the money was for his father’s care and did come clean but it was still great to see Juliette not roll over and let him ‘get away’ with his lies.
This book was a great way to spend a afternoon, its a enjoyable and well constructed story with likeable characters.
Despite the nature of the story, it was surprisingly unnecessary angst free. Which was refreshing and different.
It was so fun to be back at Rosewood Bay and getting to know the missing sister. I really liked Juliette. I liked that even though her father had sheltered her all her life she still has a strong backbone and was determent to leave NYC and meet her lost sisters. I liked Braden and his sense to be there for Juliette when she needed moral support.
The only problem I have with him is that he should have told her the truth before her father showed up wanting her to go back to NYC with him. It bothered me that he knew how much she was hurt that her father had kept her sisters from her and still waited to the last minute to tell her all the truth about how their relationship started. But despite that I think they were perfectly matched. I loved that she decide he at lease deserves a chance to explain everything so that they can move forward.
This series is reallyan ideal summer read. I can’t wait to see what Carly Phillips has planned for us in Dream. I’m looking forward to see Andi getting her HEA like she deserves.

I have been following the Rosewood Bay series and these books are exactly what I need. The third book. Freed, had me captured from page one. I have been dying for Juliette’s story.I did not expect Braden. He is yummy and I claim him as mine. I love the drama factor that will keep you on your toes. I stayed wondering what will happen next. The back story between these two characters has your heart twisting. You want to give these two both a hug and carry their burden. That makes these two perfect for each other. Braden has open himself up to Juliette except for one secret. He knows it will be a life changer. This is a make it or break it kind of deal.
I loved every word and all the sexy times scenes. They were HOT and now I need to make a bucket list of what I need to do on my own. Juliette came off as a quiet character, but when she was with Braden, I was even surprised how she was blunt to the point. That girl will definitely tell you what she wants and how she wants it. The sisters made me smile. Read Freed and fall in love with love all over again!
4.5 Rosewoody stars.
Freed is the third book in the ‘Rosewood Bay’ series by Carly Phillips where we finally get to met Juliette, who believes she’s an only child and that her mom is dead. It’s just her and her dad, or so she thought. She didn’t know about her other sisters until she came across undeniable evidence that proved that she not only had siblings but that her mom was very much alive.
Juliette is stunned by this revelation, she’s believed her father’s lies for over 26 years, she’s been wrapped in proverbial cotton wool and her father has used his ill health to keep her close to his side, but no more. She has more than him to her family and she wants to meet them.
Nothing is going to stop her.
Braden Clark likes his small town work, he was once a cop in the city but came home to Rosewood Bay to look after his father’s business, Clark Investigations. His dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a few years earlier and had struggled to keep working alone, but now Braden is there to care for him. Braden knows it won’t be long before his dad will need more full-on medical care and that costs money. Money he doesn’t have. So, when a simple job falls in his lap, he jumps at the chance to make some easy cash. All he has to do is keep an eye on a rich guy’s daughter.
How hard could that be?
But, what happens when these two eventually cross paths?
When a simple job becomes compromised by feelings?
Juliette and Braden make a lovely couple, they had some kick-a&& chemistry and humorous banter. Their attraction was instant and they had a great connection. As they got to know one another, the fact that Braden worked for Juliette’s father, and that he was in fact there, spying on her became a huge deal. Braden knew he had to ‘fess up, but kept lying by omission. It was his one major flaw and the cause of the real angst in the story.
Keeping the truth from Juliette may have felt like a kindness due to her naivete but still he was in the wrong and knew it.
While all that was going down, Juliette did get to have a wonderful relationship with her sisters which we got to witness first hand. It was sweet and loving as Phoebe and Halley already knew about their younger sister. These two young women took Juliette into their lives and helped her broaden her outlook on life. I loved reading about them in their own books, Fearless and Breathe and was dying to hear more about them here. Carly Phillips brought it all together with a heart-warming yet sexy tale and I look forward to the next one.
I’ve quite enjoyed my journey through Rosewood Bay with the Ward sisters, and this jaunt with Juliette was no different. These books are all on the shorter side and lighter than my typical reads, but I’ve found myself looking forward to reading each of them and can’t wait to delve into some of the secondary characters as the series continues.
After reading Halley and Phoebe’s stories, I was eager to find out more about the mysterious third Ward sister. Juliette was just as fantastic as her older sisters and had the same magnetism that seemed to draw people to her with little effort. I appreciated how she never took her fortunate past for granted, even when she realized how deeply manipulative her father had been throughout her life. She always seemed to appreciate what she had and still give herself the room to be angry about other circumstances of her life. For someone who had been incredibly sheltered throughout her life, Juliette seemed to be quite well-adjusted when she finally struck out on her own two feet.
Braden’s story was just as devastating as Juliette’s. His losses may have been different, but they were no less profound. I did struggle – as did he – with his reluctance in telling Juliette the circumstances surrounding their initial interactions, though I understood why he was hesitant to lose either of the things that were becoming vitally important in his life. Otherwise, he was a flawless partner to Juliette; he let her spread her wings without inhibition but was there to provide her shelter when she needed a safe place to land.
One of my favorite things about these Rosewood Bay stories is how Ms. Phillips puts her characters in each other’s lives when they are both struggling with something life-changing. Giving Juliette and Braden each their own journey to acceptance and healing independent of their story together added an opportunity to demonstrate how wonderfully they worked together and supported each other in the hardest moment of their lives. I particularly loved the subplot with Braden’s dad, it was heartbreaking and lent an interesting dynamic to the book.
My only wish for this book would be a more impactful climax. Considering everything that happened in such a short time, it seemed lacking to me. I had hoped for a much more significant fallout and resulting reconciliation.
FREED is the third book in Carly Phillips’ Rosewood Bay series. These books are interconnected standalones and do not need to be read in order or comprehension. Each book gives enough information on the other characters to pique an interest in reading their stories without giving enough away to spoil them. FREED is written in third-person limited perspective, alternatively following Juliette and Braden.
Carly Phillips continues to impress me with her to the point writing. I easily fall in love with her characters and find ways to connect with their struggles and triumphs. Though I would have loved a little more closure at the end of this book, I still find her pacing appropriate for the stories she tells.
Freed was a great 5 star read.
This is the 3rd book in the Rosewood Bay series, however this can be read as a standalone.
Juliette has grown up under her father’s thumb, She has always been there for him and done everything for him, she hasn’t had much of a life of her own. She was told her mother passed when she was very young and she had no other family. When she opens her fathers safe to get an idea for a birthday present for him, she discovers a file that changes everything for her.
When Juliette confronts her father, he tells her the truth. Juliette decides to leave home and go find her family. Her father wasn’t thrilled about the idea but had no choice but to let her go.
Braden is hired by Juliettes dad to spy on her and give him updates. Bradens father is sick so the money is coming in at a great time for him. When Braden meets Juliette the first time he is completely drawn to her. These two had such great chemistry and I loved their connection. As they get to know each other more, Braden is starting to feel terrible about lying to Juliette, what will happen if she finds out the truth?
There is so much more to this great read, I loved reading about Juliettes connection with her sisters it was great. I couldn’t stop reading until I was done. The writing is great and pulls you right in. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. This is my first read from the series and I plan to go back and read the first two. We do get a HEA but not without challenges, I actually would like to see more from these two in the future.

A Rosewood Bay Novel
I was waiting not so patiently for Juliette’s story and it was worth the wait!
Freed is the story of Juliette and Braden.
Juliette was truly a beautiful bird trapped in a gilded cage. Her father was an over the top example of a over-protective parent. He kept her chained to his side in the worst way. Juliette is the epitome of a dutiful daughter and when her trust and faith in her father is shattered, she goes to the only family she has left.
Braden is trying to keep his “ducks in a row” and finds it more difficult when he lands an easy job with great pay. An answer to a big chunk of his problems. He struggles with his guilt, with both Juliette and his father and it was moving to read his reactions to what life throws at him.
From their first meeting, Juliette and Braden’s chemistry was stellar! I enjoyed reading the trust she had in Braden right away and his conflict over it.
Reading about the reunion of the sisters was touching. I loved how Phoebe and Halley embraced her with open arms. Something that Juliette needed desperately.
It was lovely to catch up with secondary characters, it was like a family reunion to catch up with what everyone is up to.
I respected Juliette’s strength, especially when it came to her parents and standing her ground. She is no shrinking violet!
Finally, I enjoyed reading a small tease of the next book in the series, we will get Andi’s story and I know that will be another fantastic read!
Phoebe’s and Halley’s long lost sister, Juliette, stumbles upon information about the sisters she never knew she had when she enters her father’s safe looking for his wine journal to buy him his favorite wine for his birthday. What she finds instead is that her father has lied to her for her entire life. Disgusted with her father’s manipulation and eager to learn about her sisters, she leaves his luxurious Manhattan home and moves to Rosewood Bay. And as only a rich, controlling, helicopter parent would do, Juliette’s father hires PI Braden Clark to keep tabs on Juliette while she lives in Rosewood Bay. Braden’s plan to befriend Juliette so he can stay close works well. Too well, when it goes far beyond professional and he starts to fall for her.
Phillips got it perfectly right with Juliette’s character. She was sheltered and naïve but she was still a strong, determined, intelligent person who knew her own strengths and weaknesses. It takes a skilled author to create an affluent, cossetted heroine who is innocent and inexperienced without resorting to making her immature, self-centered and entitled, and I found myself enamored with Juliette and cheering for her from the very beginning. Juliette has a lot of challenges thrown at her beyond getting to know her sisters, having to deal with her estranged mother as well as crimes committed against her that originate from a shocking source. She handles it all with dignity, grace and fortitude – a far cry from the pampered, protected princess some might take her for.
Braden was the perfect complement for Juliette. Aside from his failing to disclose he was working for her father, that is. Although his natural tendency is to protect and fix, he’s really wonderful in supporting and encouraging Juliette while giving her room to grow and flourish. Of course their chemistry is off the charts and there are plenty of steamy scenes, but their friendship, emotional connection and the way they support and encourage each other is what makes the relationship extraordinary.
I really enjoyed Fearless and Breathe and was eager to dig into an early copy of Freed. Not only was the premise of Juliette’s story fresh and unique, reconnecting with the other characters of Rosewood Bay felt like coming home. As only a talented wordsmith can do, Phillips creates a world any reader would love to live in with winning, endearing, realistic characters we would easily welcome into our circle of friends. Full of passion, emotion and feeling, Freed is a heartwarming, evocative read and not to be missed.
Freed (Rosewood Bay, #3) by Carly Phillips …. Fantastic addition to Rosewood Bay series… Juliette Collins { missing sister of Phoebe (married to Jake parents of Jamie) and Halley (married to Kane} raised by her over protective father. Braden Clark (Private investigator ..takes over father’s business) He left the police department and came home to Rosewood Bay to care for his dad who has Alzheimer’s…this really hit home for me as my husband and I were caretaker’s for my aunt who had Alzheimer’s. I won’t tell you anymore how Juliette finds out about Phoebe and Halley … this story has all the feels..laughs..tears..happy and sad..steamy sex and of course a HEA. I can’t wait for DREAM Andi (Nicky’s mom and Kane’s sister) and Kyle’s story… If you haven’t read FEARLESS and BREATHE yet…you need to!
Juliette has been the only child of her father’s. Her mom dies when she was young. She helps at her dad’s company and does interior design for her father’s friends. She goes through her dad’s safe looking for his wine journal and finds a folder from an investigator. It’s about her two sisters and her mom. She has always taken care of her father but he is good at manipulating her. She packs up, against her father’s wishes, and heads for Rosewood Bay to meet her sisters.
Braden is a private investigator and has been hired by Juliette’s dad to keep an eye on her. He needs the money because his father has Alzheimer’s and he’ll have to put him in a home soon. But from the moment he meets Juliette, he falls hard. The only problem is the money her took from her dad. The more they are together, the more he knows he’ll have to tell her the truth and hope she forgives him.
Sweet, sexy, a little mystery, an overprotective father, and a mother was uses anyone for her own gain. Such a good story and three sisters are finally together. Juliette learns love doesn’t mean manipulating someone and Braden learns someone will love you even if you have to break dates to take care of his dad.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for the author *
Freed is the third book in the Rosewood Bay series and now my favorite as well. Juliette’s story is one of self-discovery having been sheltered by an overprotective father she wants to find her sisters, provide for herself and figure out who she truly is. Braden is the man hired to keep an eye on Juliette; however, he discovers there is more to the Manhattan Princess than just a pretty face. Can Juliette and Braden overcome the obstacles placed in their path?? I guess you’ll have to grab this amazing read and find out!
Carly Phillips did not disappoint with this story or this stand alone series. This is the third installment of the Rosewood bay series. Juliette is the long lost sister of Phoebe and Halley. The sisters have been looking for Juliette but Juliette did not know she had sisters until she found a PI report about them. She decided to go find ain’t about them on her own. When Juliette meets Braden Clark and they become fast friends but there is a spark between them, little does she know he was hired by her father to keep an eye on her. Can they work through their differences once Juliette finds out. Also will the sisters be able to have a relationship. This is a wonderful read I could not put down,
