She’s free from the confines of her father’s control.
He’s the man hired to keep her out of trouble.
For Braden Clark, getting paid to watch over a city girl on vacation seems too good to be true. She’s hot as hell and determined to test her newfound boundaries, something he finds both sexy and arousing.
Juliette Collins is eager to play and discover everything else she’s missed in her … everything else she’s missed in her sheltered life—including the hot, muscular guy that seems to be everywhere she looks.
But what happens when she discovers his secret? That he’s been paid to watch over her all along?

This was the book I was waiting for. The last sister to be together to make Halley and Phoebe feel like they are complete with their family. Juliette is 26 and lives with her over protective dad. She protects him as he had a heart attack and she doesn’t want anything to affect his health. Whilst looking for his wine list she finds a folder and reads it and its not what she was expecting. She waits and confronts her dad. Bradon is in security and is asked to be a bodyguard\watcher over Juliette. As little by little Juliette and Bradon get close, as she realises what a waste of space her mom is and as she gets to know her two sisters, her world comes crashing down as she finds out that Bradon has a secret and her dad an even bigger one. Will the couple make a go of it and get their HEA? Or will the secret be to big? A great read from the start and I have loved this series. I cant wait for book four.
I’ve really enjoyed the previous books in Carly Phillips Rosewood Bay series and Freed was no exception.
Juliette has been manipulated and lied to by her father all of her life so when she discovers that she’s actually not an only child and finds the strength to leave the smothering, lonely life in the city it’s great watching her flourish and stand on her own two feet.
Braden is a good guy. Hard working with his own business that he took over when his dad got sick and it’s through this that he is introduced to Juliette. What starts out as a surveillance job quickly turns into something more for both of them – though how will the girl he’s possibly falling for react when she finds out why he approached her in the first place (even though his reasons for not fessing up are sad and not for his own benefit)??
This pair were really good together. He gave her the space she needed to grow while being there to catch her. In return, Juliette was the support that Braden had never had and didn’t fully realise he even needed.
I love catching up with previous characters and seeing how they are doing. I’m looking forward to more from Ms Phillips and Rosewood Bay.
My rating for the third book in the series – 4.5*
Good book
Halley and Phoebe have been looking for their other sister for years, but they do not know is she didn’t even know they existed. When Juliette finds documents her father hidden away reveals she has sisters, she takes on a mission to reconnect with them. Her father is still trying to control her, so he hires Braden to watch over her. When Braden comes face to face with Juliette he can’t seem to control his attraction to her and wants to get to know her. As he gets to know her he helps her find her way to reconnecting with her sisters. He doesn’t bank on caring about her all the while he is dealing with an ill father. Juliette didn’t expect to come into town and start spending time with Braden, but she can’t seem to fight her attraction either. When Juliette reconnects with her sisters is a beautiful thing to witness and I loved that it happened the way it did. Her father tried to control and manipulate her through her whole life and she would have missed out on something great. When she left her father, she didn’t expect to find a different kind of family and love but we all know what they say about expectations.
This was a beautiful way to reunite the sisters Carly and you did it well. I was so glad we got to see how the sisters all led different lives and it’s easy to think someone may have been better off than the other. That’s not what happened here because all the sisters led different lives but they all missed out on having their unit grow up together. Juliette has a beautiful soul and just hasn’t found her passion for life until she arrives in Rosewood Bay. Braden has been living his life trying to build his business and move forward with helping his father. When Juliette comes into his life it’s like something opened within him and she just brightens his day. I thought he was sweet and loving so who wouldn’t want that in a man. Carly has written a beautiful story with a balance that can only be created with great writing. The drama does not over shadow the characters and its beautiful quick read that will have you enthralled from the first page.

Mary Jo –
Juliette’s lived a life of privilege, never knowing that her birth mother was alive. When she finds out the truth – and that she has two sisters – she leaves the luxury apartment she lives in with her father to find part of her that’s been missing.
Juliette wants to know her sisters but at the same time is scared of what she will find. When she meets Braden, a local private detective, she senses that he could be a good friend. What she doesn’t realize is that Braden has been hired by her father to watch out for her while she’s in Rosewood Bay and make reports on what she’s doing.
Braden likes being with Juliette. There’s a realness about her that calls to him. And when Juliette makes friends with his father (who’s suffering from Alzheimer’s) it seals the deal for him on the kind of person she really is. Feeling guilty about the fact he’s been working for her father, he vows to come clean.
I enjoyed this story, the resolution of mystery surrounding Juliette. I wish that there had been more interaction between all three sisters and with their aunt.
Ruthie –
This is the third book in the series, and I would suggest that you really need to read the books in order. We know some of Juliette’s early life from Phoebe and Halley’s stories, and we know that they are very keen to find her too – that is, I think quite important, as it makes their attitude towards her arrival much easier to understand.
Obviously we know from the start the difficult position that Braden finds himself in, and it was easy to commiserate with him, as he struggled with how to explain everything. Carly Phillips is very good at ramping up the tension and finding the perfect way to resolve it. Halley is the right sister to give the right advice, although I think that their aunt would have been a good person to speak to as well. I wish we had had more of her in this book, as she would have understood Juliette’s upbringing well, and been supportive.
The other interesting character to consider is Juliette’s father. His behaviour towards Juliette is initially overprotective, but seemingly caring, but by the end, we really do have to question his sanity. I found this rather ironic, and sad in the light of Braden’s father’s condition. Lots to think about there.
Clearly the chemistry between Braden and Juliette is off the charts, and it is really fun reading about them ticking off her wish list, in the most sensual of ways. I look forward to reading more about them in future installments – because thankfully, just because the sisters are reunited does not mean that there are not other people worthy of love in Rosewood Bay!
Reviewers on the Wicked Reads Review Team were provided a free copy of Freed (Rosewood Bay #3) by Carly Phillips to read and review.
Juliette has been living in a bubble her whole life. She has been protected and has no real world experience; once she finds life altering news she is ready to spread her wings and fly. Braden was hired to watch out for Juliette and report back to her dad what is happen.
Juliette is finding out she can rely on herself and fall in love. Can love started on a lie survive?
This is a third in a series and can be read out of order with no issues.

“I’m going to get you alone, and when I do, all bets are off. I will have you, city girl.”
If you’re looking for a romance that makes you feel good all around, look no further than Carly Phillips’ Rosewood Bay series. This is a series of standalone romances, but I recommend each and ever one of them. The third standalone book in the series, FREED, captured my heart from the very beginning. I’ve been waiting for Juliette’s story ever since she was introduced in the storyline. I was curious about her and how she fit in this family and I was beautifully surprised by the welcoming she received from her sisters. It was a heartwarming and touching moment that I won’t forget.
FREED features Juliette Collins and Braden Clark. Sparks fly instantly! I loved it! The connection they had was special, and I could tell that right away. Braden might have had ulterior motives with Juliette, but the feelings that developed were all too real. He just needs to convince Juliette of that fact.
I loved these two characters to pieces! I ALWAYS fall in love with this author’s writing and with FREED, she just reminded me why. Sexy and sweet romance full of so much heart…that’s how I would describe Phillips’ work to a T. An easy-to-read love story, a beautiful page-turner, a remarkable happily ever after…FREED is all of that and MORE!
Freed is the 3rd book in the Rosewood Bay Series. It’s kind of cool that a lot of series (this one included) that are written that each book can be read as a standalone. Freed is Juliette Collins and Braden Clark’s story. Juliette has been very protected most of her life. When she finds out that she has sisters that she has never known about she decides that enough is enough and she feels her father has lied to her since he never told her about them. Also, her mother is in fact not dead. She runs to find her never known about family. Her father hires a PI to keep an eye on her. That PI turns out to be Braden Clark. He thought he was going to be earning easy money. And, I can’t say more because you really need to read the book.
I really enjoyed their story and this series and I can’t wait to read the next book! Carly Phillips has definitely kept me interested in reading her books. I give Freed 4.5 stars.
This book is one of those where you are always waiting on the other shoe to drop. From the very beginning, as a reader, you know that Juliette is being lied to because no other reason would someone look into a safe and not grasp the concept that they’re going to find something they’re not supposed to. And then to know that you’re going to fall for the private investigator who is secretly keeping an eye out for you and reporting back to your father, but of course, you’re going to fall in love with each other. The question is, will it be a devastating betrayal or will she understand? I love the way these sisters reacted to her finding them. I thought that was tastefully done and not overdramatic.
As always this book delved
Freed by Carly Phillips is the third installment of the Rosewood Bay Series and can most definitely be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend you to read the first two books to get an idea of the three sisters.
When Julliette Collins discovers that she has two sisters, she goes out in search for them. Life as she knew it will be forever changed as she discovers her mother is still alive. As Juliette ventures out, she meets Braden Clark. Soon Braden and Juliette begins a sweet romance. But what happens when Juliette discovers Braden was just hired by her father to watch after her? Will Juliette be able to trust Braden with her heart?
Freed was a sweet, predictable romance but nonetheless this book wrapped up a series where three strong heroines are able to find their happiness, love, and family. So if you are looking for a romance that will leave you with a sense of peace, love and hope then this series is for you.
4.5 Stars!
I loved Freed, the third book in the Rosewood Bay series, a sweet romance with a little drama that features Juliette, the Ward’s baby sister. While it’s a Standalone I would suggest you read them in order to get an idea how anticipated her story is. As always the writing is superb and I read it in one sitting right up to the very happy end!
Juliette Collins grew up as a privileged only child, in a Manhattan penthouse, by a doting and over protective father after her mother died when she was an infant. Now twenty-six she’s still living at home, after graduating from college, caring for her father for the last eight years after he suffered a heart attack. When she accidentally finds out the terrible secret her father had been keeping from her, that she has two siblings she never knew about, she confronts her father and decides to find them. The search takes her to Rosewood Bay where she finds a loving family she didn’t know she had and possibly the love of her life.
Braden Clark has had a rough few years. The private investigator left his job as a NYPD to take over his father’s business, Clark Investigations, after his father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Now thirty he’s working and saving every cent to take care of his father, knowing his dad will eventually have to go into nursing care. When he’s hired by Andrew Collins to follow Juliette, and report back to him, he’s happy to get the well paid and cushy job. This will be money in savings for his father’s care. When he becomes involved with Juliette the last thing Braden expected was to betray her too, like her father did, with a web of lies.
“I realized what I’d be missing out on by letting the past control me. You need to think about those same things.”
This was a quick but enjoyable read. Juliette initially came across as spoiled and protected, which she was. However, once she discovered that she has sisters that her dad hide from her, she leaves that protected cocoon and sets out on her own. Braden, a private investigator, is hired by Juliette’s father to keep an eye on her when she comes to town. While I’m not the biggest fan of a relationship developing with clear secrets being kept, Braden’s side is understandable. He was hired for a job, the funds of which he uses to support a father with dementia, but he quickly starts to fall for Juliette. Juliette quickly breaks from the spoiled princess mold, gets a job, and starts to learn how to lives her own life. Her reunion with her sisters, heroines of the earlier books, is sweet. The drama of the book comes from familial relationships but does not take away from the love story between Juliette and Braden. Overall, this was a lovely read and one I wouldn’t mind rereading at a later date, lounging on the beach.
Sweetly sexy, highly entertaining, emotionally thrilling and engaging romantic journey filled with new experiences, undiscovered family ties, witty banter and passion.
Juliette Collins is sweet, charming, shy and has lived her whole life in the constant care of her overprotective father and has just discovered he kept a huge secret from her. She has sisters and has made up her mind to venture into the world and get to know them….. Loved this sweetly thrilling adventure.
Juliette’s story has arrived! I’ve been curious about Juliette and what her life was like and how it differed from her sister’s after her mom gave up and she was raise by her dad. Well, let me just say her story was very different compared to her sisters.
Growing up her dad kept her sheltered and never let on that she had siblings, so when she stumbles upon a file in his safe, she learns all sorts of information about her past. Juliette’s story was fitting for her. Watching her go out on her own, after growing up with everything, she leaves everything she has ever had to go find the two sisters she just learned about. Watching Juliette find herself and to learn about the family she has was cute. It was uplifting and seeing her fall in love with Braden was just what this story needed.
4 Finding Love and Herself Stars!!!
This book centers around Juliette Collins and Braden Clark and of the three books so far in this series, this is the one I connected to on a very personal level and once you read the book, you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
Juliette is a young woman that has lived under her father’s thumb her entire life until she finds information that not only shocks her but gives her the push she needs to strike out on her own to Rosewood Bay. Being in this tiny town is a reawakening for Juliette in so many ways. I loved how this young woman who really doesn’t have to work, was not going to rest on her father’s laurels and was determined to support herself just in case her father cut the purse strings. She’s got some hidden talents that come into play later in the book that not only brings her great happiness but the opportunity to work with her oldest sister.
Braden is a man that has recently moved back to Rosewood Bay and runs his fathers PI and Security business…and yes, this is where it gets interesting because he’s now “spying” on Juliette. What neither of them expected though is to fall in love. I got such great joy watching these two become a couple. They’re so very good for each other in so many ways. The fact that Juliette wants Braden the man and everything that entails and not just what he can financially bring or not bring to the relationship gave me the warm fuzzies. And on his part, Braden supports and encourages Juliette to become the woman she’s destined to be. And along the way they generate plenty of heat…their chemistry is always simmering just below the surface.
This book is a great next step in this series and allows us to see inside the lives of all three sisters and leads us to the last book Dream which is Andi’s story…she’s Kane’s (he’s married to Halley) sister, and her story is going to be a good one!!
My favorite of this series so far!!!! There was something so incredibly special about Brenden and Juliette’s relationship. As well as Brendens life and Juliette’s. I loved watching the girls connect! We’ve been waiting for that for a while now. Perfect read that left me oh so satisfied! I just love a happy ending!
Happy reading!
It’s sweet and heartwarming story. It will have you feeling all sorts of emotions as it sucks you in from the beginning with its twists. I loved the connection and chemistry between the characters. I enjoyed reading about their journey as secrets start to unravel. Looking forward to reading more.
This is a lovely series that are easy to read romances with a homey, small town vibe – no ott drama or craziness – just real feeling stories. I have to say that this one is my fave of the Rosewood Bay series (so far, 1 more to go!). I loved that Juliette was down to earth and a lovely character. She and Braden made a great match and I loved how their story came together. Lots of feelings and it just warmed my heart! Interested to see how Andi’s story turns out in book 4…
Secrets exposed! With the next book in the Rosewood Bay series, we get to meet the long-lost sister Juliette. After discovering she has sisters out there, she makes her way to town and connects with Phoebe and Halley. It’s fun to watch these two sisters who have been so close since they reconnected be able to share memories with the sister who didn’t even remember they existed. Emotionally gritty and powerful!
Sheltered heiress Juliette Collins has lived her life as Daddy’s Little Girl and it’s the only life she knows, but when she stumbles across a file in her father’s safe that informs her she has half-sisters she never knew about out there, she’s shocked. She never imagined her father would lie to her, but here’s proof that not only did he, but he’s been keeping her tethered to his side when she could have had more family to share in her life. She’s not going to stand by and watch the world pass her by anymore … she’s heading to Rosewood Bay to find her sisters!
Security expert Braden Clark figures it will be easy money when he gets a call from Andrew Collins requesting he keep tabs on his daughter while she’s in town. Follow up on the rich girl and report to Daddy on occasion about her comings and goings … no problem. Until he meets her and becomes taken with her. She’s such an authentic person, and he enjoys watching her come into her own self as she’s getting to enjoy so many little things in life … her first job, her first apartment, meeting her sisters for the first time. It doesn’t take long for him to be in deep with her … but she doesn’t know her father has been paying him to spend time with her!
