Charming smile. Wicked skills.Meet Mr. March. With his tousled hair, cocky grin, and surprising abs hidden under a conservative button-down, bartender Cameron Reed is no stranger to the attention of women. He dates, but never gets serious, claiming that he’s too focused on his studies. But it’s not really school that preoccupies him; it’s sensual fantasies of his best friend’s sister. Mina Silver … sensual fantasies of his best friend’s sister.
Mina Silver might be absolutely off-limits because of her overprotective brother and father, but that doesn’t stop Cam from imagining the feel of her in his arms, the brush of his lips over her soft skin, or the sparks that would fly between them if he ever got her into bed.
But for Cam, the bonds of family and friendship are sacrosanct, and there is no way that he’d ever violate his friend’s trust. Or would he?
Because with love on the line, maybe it’s time for Cam to break a few rules.
Taking a risk never felt so right.

The March’s Man of the Month, “Need You Now” is definitely delicious! Talk about a romance that brings in the element of surprise, that is exactly what I got when I read “Need You Now”. Taken by surprise by our favorite conservative bartender at the Fix on 6th Cameron Reed. The one who has always claimed to be focused on studies ..the one with the cocky grin, gorgeous abs, and sparkling balls…..finally kicks it up a notch.. desiring from a distance that is our Cam. He has long fantasized about Mina Silver, our little green eyed intern. The only problem is Cam is her twin brothers best friend. So he has stayed away… While Mina is the woman who wants a man just to play with, nothing serious, just sex and definitely a man with an edge, who grabs control and makes a woman melt from the sex. Cam has fought his urges of want, holding back all his desires and fantasies of having her..no matter how intense their chemistry is… until the one night when fear stepped in their path and Cam couldn’t hold back another moment. The kiss that took them both down the alley of no return or does it. The sex between them is spicy, secretive, and sultry. Problems begin when Mina is offered the chance to go to LA for work, her career on fast track, but can she leave the man she loves. Is she willing to give up her dream job for our Mr. March Cam. the man with the “sparkly balls”.. J. Kenner cleverly brings Kiki, Cams sister back to town to sing once again at the Fix on 6th before the Man of the Month contest, and with surprise guest appearances by the one and only Billionaire Damien Stark and his Texas Beauty Queen Nikki make a their way to fix does it illuminate Mina to confirm her decision to be true….CAM & MINA 4ever!
This story is sinfully delightful. It is filled with desire, challenges, risks, and most of all love.
Five douce stars! Ce livre est le plus doux, le plus intense et le plus époustouflant que j’ai lu au cours de l’année.
“Taking a risk never felt so right.”
Sainte douceur! J. Kenner has done it again. Need You Now is a forbidden read that has left me over the lune. This is the sweetest, intense, mind-blowing Friends-to-Lovers Romance I have read over the year. I want a Cameron. He is my type of boy. Thank you Julie for gifted us a good boy with an intense and dominant soul.
The plot is original and well developed. I love the chemistry between the main characters. It was great to see how they interact. Julie delivers a forbidden Friends-to-Lovers-Romance. I devour this book and it left me wanting more. The pace was fast. The characters’ interaction was from zero to the highest number.
Need You Now is the third installment in The Man of the Month Series. And this time is Cameron who steals the scene. Each book in the series is a unique piece of art.
So, Cameron is my dream boy. He is librarian at day and porn star at night (just kidding). He is more than sexy ABS; he is a clever and centred man. He had a crush on her best friend’s little sister but he’s never made a move on her because of Darryl. He sees her as his little sister too but as time goes it will be difficult for him to keep his distance because the thin line that keeps him from jumping into her is erasing.
“Because no way in hell was Cam like family. Not tonight. Not now.”
Have you had a crush on your best friend’s brother/sister? I haven’t but I can say that if I were Mina, I would keep my distance because friendship is more important than a one night stand. But if we are talking of Cameron, then I’m in.
Mina and Cameron are too similar. They are focused on their professional life. They have successful siblings and they share a beautiful friendship. Both want to prove themselves. Mina needs to prove her father and brother that she is stronger and that she can live by herself without any babying from them. She wasn’t fragile; she was going to make it big. But she will choose what she wants and needs. To choose her dreams over love or love over her dreams, that’s the question.
“This was Mina. Naked and satisfied in his arms. The woman he’d wanted forever.”
I highly recommend you this book that can be read as a standalone but if you want to experience the complete journey, star the series with Down On Me. Believe you won’t be disappointed. J. Kenner is a talented lady who always delivers books with sinful male characters that will leave drooling over them.
“You taste sweet. I want to taste every inch of you.”

I purchased a copy of the short steamy novel Need You Now: A Man Of The Month Novel book 3 by J. Kenner and this review was given freely.
A rocky romance which is mostly secret, the continued story of The Fix on Six family, and a lead in to Nolan and Shelby’s story. College student and a bartender at The Fix on Sixth, Cameron finally gives in to his feelings for his life long friend’s twin sister Mina who has recently been showing her interest in him. Unfortunately just as he thinks he is getting everything he ever wanted, Mina is offered her LA “Dream Job”.
Amazing, I miss Reading Julie Kenners’ books. She just have a way of pulling you in so deep you don’t know till the book had ended. I love the many sides of Cameron, from the shy nerd to the confident sexy man that he is for Mina. As for Mina she is everything strong woman to and independent dedicated woman and together they are likely to set your e-reader on fire.
Cam is a charming man if I may say 🙂 corky smirk… playful… charming.. Mina is an off limit woman and yet their connection are hot..
I enjoy the sweet and fun romance…. 😉

Thoughts: Hello Cameron Reed (swoon)! Wouldn’t mind him studying me (fans self). Still not sure which one of these Man of the Month hunks I want more. This was a fun story and with a nice surprise of characters that pop in. I’m enjoying the continuing sub-plot between the books, along with the characters. I couldn’t put this down! I was hooked from the start and had to see how it ended. Yea, I know… it’s an HEA but I so wanted to know how it happened. So worth staying up late to read.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.
Wonderful characters! Easy quick read for a fun romantic read
I love this new series and every month the new book is better than the previous. This book I followed sexy bartender Cameron Reed and his best friend’s twin sister Mina Silver. Wow, their chemistry jumped off the pages. They fought is but to no avail, because there is something that just can’t be fought. Only problem is that Cam and Mina didn’t want to disappoint their families. Nor does Cam want Mina to give up her dreams that are started to unfold in front of her. This is definitely a must read book and series. This is one author that has been on my favorite to read list and this new series is no different.
I’m such a sucker for the best friend’s sister trope. In fact, it’s in my top three tropes so I was excited to see J. Kenner’s take on it for this installment of the Man of the Month books. I wasn’t disappointed.
This book caught me by surprise. After meeting Cam in the other books I didn’t expect him to be who he was in this book. Please note, this is not a complaint at all! I thoroughly enjoyed who he was here. I just wasn’t expecting it. He was a fabulous book boyfriend-hot and sexy. Once he decided to finally make his move? Mina better watch out.
I had a harder time connecting at first with Mina. There were some moments that had me groaning in frustration but they passed. I did wind up liking her and understanding her internal struggle, it just took me a minute to get there.
I liked these two together. Again, I love the best friend’s sister trope and I thought it was well done here. This was a sassy and flirty book overall, as all of the books in the series have been. I enjoyed this quick read and I’m looking forward to the next book.
Need You Now was a quick and sweet friends-to-lovers/best friend’s sister romance. It left me feeling a bit uplifted by how light hearted it was.
What I enjoyed most about the book was how the tables were turned for Cam and Mina as apposed to other books I’ve read with similar aspects. With this story, it’s Cam who’s been secretly pining for Mina while Mina was focused on her career goals. With no time for relationships, she’s content with her usual FWB (friends with benefits) choices but that is not Cam’s way and until that moment Mina sees him as more than a best friend, she didn’t realize how difficult her career choices could affect her happiness.
What a wonderful story! Oh and expect a few character appearances from J Kenner’s other great books!
I’ve loved this sweet, yet steamy at times, series about a group of friends taking an interesting marketing idea to save their local hangout, The Fix on Sixth. The underlying story features a contest every two weeks to ultimately find twelve locals to represent each month in a calendar that will be sold to raise money to save the bar.
The search for Mr. March draws the spotlight on Cameron, bartender turned Weekend Manager for the Fix, whose abs we met in the Mr. February contest. The romance trope in this third book is about Cameron’s attraction to his best friend’s little sister, Mina. Mina’s career goal is to work in cinematography so she volunteers to help the reality tv show (featuring the couple from the previous book in the series, Hold on Tight) that is using The Fix as its latest remodeling project, so she’s at the bar every day. Those around them can see the growing attraction between the two, but Cam and Mina try to tamp down their feelings for different reasons. A sudden event results in an adrenalin-filled kiss releasing their pent-up feelings.
I don’t know how J. Kenner continues to create such strong, interesting (sometimes flawed) characters that are also relatable to the reader. Cam and Mina respect one another’s educational and career goals, but it’s those same goals which creates the conflict with their budding romance. Absolutely loved the creative dates Cam took Mina on, and how well they fit his character. Can’t wait to catch future glimpses of their relationship as the series progresses! Also love the added bonus of “running into” crossover characters from Kenner’s other series!
A brilliantly sexy and sweet friends to lovers romance that’ll have your tongue lolling and your eyes bugging…
I feel so spoilt at the moment. Being drip fed these gorgeous men is doing nothing for my reality spectrum and EVERYTHING for my uuuummmm…imagination. Look, I’m trying to keep it clean, ok? So, anyway, the Man of the Month series focuses on different peoples’ efforts to keep their local bar opened and profiting. Each book is an interconnected standalone that develops the save the bar plot whilst playing on some of our favourite romance tropes. So far we’ve had friends to lovers, second chance and now we have the best-friend’s sister/ forbidden romance trope. I have to admit, that this series is the read that I look forward to every month/few weeks. I didn’t think it would become what it has to me…a guaranteed escape and thoroughly loved read. Seriously, whenever I open my kindle to find the next book on there, I go pretty freaking crazy with excitement.
Need You Now was such a fabulous instalment, the romance focuses on Cameron and Mina. We’ve gotten glimpses into Cam in the last two books—Down on Me and Hold On Tight—he came across as a little introvert and shy. Boy, boy, boy was that a crock of doobie doos. This guy is pure alpha. My eyes were bugging out of my head and my tongue was lolling out of my mouth…holy guacamole was this guy just (please fan me) hot hot hot. Seriously, I was not expecting Cam to open up into the caveman he turned out to be. I can’t even make sense. I’m still a little bit like whaaaaaaat? Saying that, I think that he perfectly balances out Mina’s character. She’s so ambitious and driven, she’s also focused and independent. I liked that he was what made her soft and human. I don’t mean it to sound like she’s unrelatable, because she is completely and utterly loveable and likeable and she’s strong. I guess what I mean is that he expands her career focus onto other things. You know, these are two multi-layered and multi-faceted characters. They have so much broiling underneath the surface and the deeper you go, the more there is to them. Also, can I just say that I loved Cameron’s book nerd tendencies. Oh, and that date…puuuuuhlease…that was game over for me.
Need You Now is a friends to lovers romance in some aspects, although the focus is more the whole best-friend’s sister trope. I liked that the drama was well contained and didn’t take away from the romance. It didn’t overpower the essence of Cam’s and Mina’s story. you know, this is a very sweet albeit hot romance. It’s akin to a fairytale only with a whole lot of bite and spice. I’m finding myself really warming to the third person narrative in which this series is written. I can’t actually fault it. It’s so hard because I really just want to moan about it as it’s not something I usually enjoy, however I can’t. Julie Kenner has done such an outstanding job of writing this series. I can’t even begin to imagine it being written in the first person—it’s pretty much perfect the way it is!
If you love the Starks, you’ll love Damien’s, Nikki’s, Noah’s and Kiki’s cameos. That was a very pleasant surprise for me and I hope that we see more of them throughout the series. Overall, this was such a great romance. I was utterly taken with it from beginning to end. The characters are brilliantly developed and the plot is effortlessly and pretty flawlessly executed. I loved Need You Now and I cannot wait for Start Me Up!
This sweet & romantic third entry in the Man of the Month series is lighter on heat than previous books, but full of heart. Cam is awkwardly adorable as he struggles with the feelings he has for his best friends sister. The career driven Mina isn’t looking for love when she gradually starts to see him for the man he has become instead of the boy she grew up with. The couples journey to balance careers & young love while keeping their relationship secret makes for an endearing addition to the series.
I have been waiting for Cameron’s story since Nolan and Kiki’s story was published & I was desperately hoping he would have his own book! The awaited story of Cameron and longtime crush on childhood friend, Mina is a great one! The chemistry Mina and Cam have are palpable and pop off the pages. We also get a little more Damien and Nikki and Kiki and Noah in this one too!!
“Need You Now” is a must read for readers who love all things in the Stark Universe.
The fun and antics and oh man the hotness doesn’t end with this series and each book just continues to be awesome sauce. This time we have friends to lovers and of course the big brother they don’t want to know about it. It makes for a great time with Cam trying to convince Mina that they are more than the chemistry in the bedroom. I love these two together and it isn’t about the sex. This is a great coming of age story for Cam who has lusted after her for years and Mina who just realized there is more to Cam than she ever saw.
I love what this series is doing and yes the books are all standalone with a common story about the bars financial challenges and the calendar contest. Each book is so much more as we meet the people in the mix and the relationships that become so much more. We get to know the friends and forces working together and it makes the series so much better. Don’t just read one, well hells bells I dare you to read just one and not get hooked.
I was anxiously awaiting Cam and Mina’s book as there have been subtle hints of his attraction since book one. Little did I know that he has been harboring these feelings almost as long as he has known Mina.
Cam has been promoted to assistant manager at The Fix on Sixth, the neighborhood hot spot that is hosting a Man of the Month competition for a calendar they are doing to help raise money to keep the establishment from going under. Cam was in close competition but was aced out of the February win for Man of the Month. He didn’t have any intentions of entering the March contest, but at the prodding of his best friend Darryl and his twin sister Mina, who he has a serious crush on, he decides to enter. Cam has a sad back story, but he has really done well for himself. He has won scholarships for college and he is currently working on his doctorate! He is not only gorgeous but smart!
Mina is Darryl’s twin sister and he is very protective of her. He was born first and healthy, but Mina was a preemie and had a rough start her first few years, but growing up she caught up except her size, she is petite. Their mom left, and they were raised by their Dad and he is also very protective of her. Her dream is to get a job in Hollywood as a director. She has her master’s degree in film and media production, so her stint as an intern on the Fixer Upper show that’s also filming at The Fix on Sixth will only pad her resume, not to mention, she just got a job as an assistant to the VP of a production company in South Austin.
An innocent touch Mina gave Cam set the wheels in motion for the attraction to ramp up and after a few drinks and liquid courage took over, the passion was ignited! Wholly hotness they have chemistry. Cam is wanting to out them as a couple, but Mina wants to keep it on the down low.
Will their relationship become public? Can Cam confess to Darryl that he is dating his sister? Who wins Man of the Month for March? I’m not going to spill the beans! You are just going to have to read it and find out for yourself. This was a terrific addition to this series and it just continues to keep me enthralled.
This series is such a great series with so many characters involved. We first met Cameron Reed in Wicked Torture. He is Kiki’s younger brother and the bartender at The Fix on Sixth where Kiki performed. Cameron has just been promoted to assistant manager of the bar. He is working at the bar while going to graduate school and working towards a doctorate!
Mina Silver is Cameron’s best friend, Darryl’s younger sister and they have known each other since they were kids. Cameron has had a crush on Mina for so long and he finally decides to take action on it. Mina’s goal is to be a Hollywood director and is working really hard towards her goals. She doesn’t have time for a relationship but she is very attracted to Cameron and finally acts on it.
Cameron and Mina is the perfect match but Mina is still determined go to Hollywood but when she gets her chance, she must decide what she truly wants. Cameron makes his feelings known and hopes that Mina sees his love for her. Noah, Kiki, Damien and Nikki makes an appearance in this book and it’s always great to find out what they are up to. There’s never enough Damien and Nikki for me! Seeing these 2 couples also helps Cameron realizes how much he loves Mina and what he can do to stay with her…whether in Austin or Hollywood.
I can’t wait for Mr. April and the rest of the months! This series is funny and heartwarming.
J Kenner’s Man of the Month series is kicking it into high gear with Need You Now! As the fourth book in her ever growing saga, Kenner is making waves and stealing hearts with the different tropes and sexy, handsome men she brings into the rebranding of Fix on Sixth. Mr. March contest is underway and some ever popular Kenner Krew take a pit stop to join in to help.
“Cameron Reed. Mild-mannered librarian by day. Internet porn star by night.”
Cameron Reed has had eyes on his best friends little sister for sometime now. Having grown up together, him and Darryl Silver have pestered Mena to no end, but ever since hormones played a roll, his eyes have only been on her. However, he wouldn’t jeopardize his friendship with either one of them… or could he? Mena’s feelings for Cameron have escalated and when a chance to take things to the next level arise, time spins out. She has worked diligently to make a name for herself, a career to hold true with no time for love. But when it comes to Cameron she can’t see past him. Can she juggle her career and love at the same time even though her dream is to be in LA in Hollywood to make a name for herself?
“She was seeing him in ways she shouldn’t –in ways that were pure fantasy.”
“He was in her heart.
Her heart and her head and her thoughts.”
Need You Now is a sweet friends to lovers romance. One to cherish to heart. A hero to knock your socks off and worship at your feet. Cameron Reed’s quest for love in his best friend’s little sister was pure and beautiful. Their connection and intimacy was beyond hot, which was surprising since he was a down to earth guy. But he takes charge behind closed doors and that’s where the fun lies.
Both characters are likeable and relatable. I enjoyed that both are educational/career driven. Mena is independent, strong and determined for her future. I liked how Kenner made Cameron a book nerd. The date he takes her on and shows her the drawings in the margins was touching for his personality which totally fit the story!
I especially devoured the end when a *cough* certain character from Kenner’s past work makes an appearance. I only hope this character makes reappearances throughout.

Who knew book nerds were so hot and dirty beneath their studious, down-to-earth demeanor…THIS GIRL!!!
AND, now that a certain best friend’s sister has FINALLY seen the light or should I say the abs, I couldn’t wait to see how Cameron Reed got his girl…the one he’s wanted for forever regardless of the fact that she’s somewhat forbidden due to his friendship with Mina’s brother and the protective nature of the men in her life.
Cameron is not usually one to break the rules, but when J. Kenner sets him up to finally be noticed by the woman of his dreams/fantasies, he’s all about taking that chance and proving to Mina that he’s never really seen himself as just her friend or her second brother. And while it takes Mina a bit longer to work that idea out, when she does, the sexual tension and the will they or won’t they question plays out deliciously until, ultimately, they have no choice but to succumb to their desires for each other.
Need You Now is another quick and steamy read in J. Kenner’s Man of the Month series, and while each book is unique in its characters and even the focused trope(s), one premise unites them all and interweaves these sexy and sweet stories…that being creating a calendar to save a local bar, The Fix, which is home to many of the characters as well as a highly entertaining spot for others.
I really like how J. Kenner has laid out this series and the fact that the heroes and heroines of each book have been introduced in previous ones, so there is some background knowledge, but readers truly get to know them when it’s their turn to be front and center, and that’s when we notice exactly who and what they’re made of, and that close-up view allows us to feel invested in the stories and cheer for couples that thought they would never be together.
