Charming smile. Wicked skills.Meet Mr. March. With his tousled hair, cocky grin, and surprising abs hidden under a conservative button-down, bartender Cameron Reed is no stranger to the attention of women. He dates, but never gets serious, claiming that he’s too focused on his studies. But it’s not really school that preoccupies him; it’s sensual fantasies of his best friend’s sister. Mina Silver … sensual fantasies of his best friend’s sister.
Mina Silver might be absolutely off-limits because of her overprotective brother and father, but that doesn’t stop Cam from imagining the feel of her in his arms, the brush of his lips over her soft skin, or the sparks that would fly between them if he ever got her into bed.
But for Cam, the bonds of family and friendship are sacrosanct, and there is no way that he’d ever violate his friend’s trust. Or would he?
Because with love on the line, maybe it’s time for Cam to break a few rules.
Taking a risk never felt so right.

Need You Now is a friends to lovers romance, with a side of best friend’s little sister thrown into the mix! The latest installment in the Man of the Month series was enjoyable!
Cameron has had his eyes on Mina for a long time. However, he’s not in the business of ruining friendships over something he thinks is totally one sided. But when Mina’s feelings are known and the opportunity for more presents itself, how can you say no?
I enjoyed both Mina and Cameron as they were both career driven. Their connection was so hot! I like how Mina is trying to juggle her career and love life, like so many women do. I really enjoyed how Cameron is portrayed as such a nice guy (but dirty in the bedroom).
All in all, I think this is the best book in the series!
Need You Now by J. Kenner is the third book in her new 12 book Man of the Month series. Told in dual POV this is the brother’s best friend/best friend’s little sister love story of Cameron Reed and Mina Silver and the series story arc of this larger group of friends efforts to save their favorite bar, The Fix on Sixth.
Cam and Mina have known each other since grade school. He spent much of his childhood with both Mina and his best friend, her brother, Darryl. Cam has harbored feelings for Mina for almost as long as he has known her but has never once acted on them for multiple reasons. He doesn’t want to jeopardize the friendship he has with Darryl and he is afraid she won’t reciprocate.
Mina is getting some strange vibes coming from Cam lately and they are causing all kinds of new reactions in her body. After his stunt on stage at the February Man of the Month competition she is aware of just how well defined his abs are and he’s starting to give her the impression that he likes her. Worried about her career and what a relationship could do to hamper it, she is hesitant about getting involved with Cam. But after a few drinks one night the liquid courage allows them both to explore their sizzling chemistry.
Can they enjoy each other, keep their goals for the future and not alienate Darryl?
Well-written and well-paced, this was another great read and I’m excited with how each of the upcoming characters are gently weaved into the plots in earlier stories without being obtrusive to the current story. Enjoy!
Oh Mr. March. Cameron made a splash at the February “Man of the Month” contest but would he grab the attention of the one woman that had stolen his heart. Mina is his best friend’s sister but her loves her deeply. Given their relationship, he has been hesitant but he finally seems to be finding his confidence to go for what he wants. Mina is spunky and driven to make a career for herself in Hollywood. She has been getting great opportunities and working on the TV show at The Fix has given her more time to be around Cameron. Cameron and Mina are both driven to pursue their passions but struggle to do the same in their love lives. Just maybe, they will finally get it all together with each other. I enjoyed this fun, sexy romance and I love that I get to spend time with this eclectic family that shares the common bond of The Fix.
NEED YOU NOW is the third instalment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult MAN OF THE MONTH erotic, romance novella series focusing on a fund raiser for the popular Austin, Texas bar known as The Fix. This is twenty four year old university student and bar tender Cameron Reed, and PA Mina Silver’s story line. NEED YOU NOW can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over the author’s Stark Trilogy and its’ subsequent spin-offs with the inclusion of Damien and Nikki Stark.
SOME BACKGROUND: The Fix on Sixth, a local Austin hangout, is in desperate need of renovations and a quick influx of cash so a plan is put into motion, by a group of regulars, a plan that includes a Man of the Month calendar competition, and a reality show aimed at rehabbing the bar.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Mina and Cameron) NEED YOU NOW is a friends to lovers/ best friend’s sister story line that follows the building romantic relationship between Mina Silver and Cameron Reed. Now that the rehab show The Business Plan was in full swing, and The Fix on Sixth is getting the much need face-lift to remain competitive (Hold On Tight #2), Mina Silver finds herself up close and personal with the day to day operations of a reality television program. Hoping for a career in Hollywood, Mina has no desire to start a long-term relationship especially with her brother’s best friend, and the man that calls to her heart Cameron Reed but Cameron has other plans including the slow seduction of his best friend’s sister. What ensues is the building romance between Mina and Cam, and the potential fall-out as Mina’s plans for Hollywood come around much quicker than anyone had anticipated.
The attraction between Mina and Cam has been a long time developing; childhood friends who have always had one another’s back Mina and Cam’s relationship goes from friends to friends with benefits but a benefits arrangement Mina refuses to take it to the next level. Cam wants something more permanent but Mina believes her time in Austin is limited, and isn’t willing to risk her heart or the heart of the man she has known most of her life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples and cast, with the addition of Mina’s brother Darryl, Cam’s sister KiKi (Stark Series), and of course, a cameo appearance by Damien and Nikki Stark.
NEED YOU NOW is a quick read; a sexy and sassy friends to lovers romance; a best friend’s sister love from afar wherein the best friend is well aware of the attraction between the couple in question. There is very little conflict except the potential for our heroine to move forward without the man that she loves. The premise is entertaining; the characters are energetic; the romance is provocative and intense. NEED YOU NOW is another wonderful addition to J. Kenner’s MAN OF THE MONTH novella series.
Sometime’s our heart’s desire has been right in front of us all along, you just have to be brave enough to grab onto it. That’s the wonderful story of Cam
and Mina. Cam has loved Mina since he was a teenager. Mina has viewed him as a “brother”. Can Mima actually see Cam for who he is?
J. Kenner’s Man of the Month series gets hotter and hotter each month.
“Your playing a dangerous game, Baby. Because I swear I’m on the verge of taking you right here, propriety and job security and our secret be damned.”
I have really been enjoying this series! First Reece and Jenna. Then Spencer and Brooke. Now we hear the story of Cameron and Mina – and we have a new Man of the Month crowned!!
Cameron Reed has loved Mina Silver in secret for years now. Growing up together as close as siblings, and the fact that she is his best friend’s sister, means hands off. He’s got it bad, and everyone can see it but her. When a simple offer to walk her to her car one night, turns in to his opportunity to show her how he feels, and leads to a night that is better than he ever imagined, is it all too good to be true? Can he safeguard his heart, knowing that he doesn’t fit in to her plans? Or, can he be her new plan?
Mina Silver never saw Cameron Reed as anything more than a friend. Until that night. An innocent touch changed everything. When a kiss turns in to so much more and the switch is flipped, she knows this isn’t permanent. It can’t be. She has plans – big plans and she needs to focus. Can she chase her dream and still keep Cam? Or will she have to choose?
And who will be Mr. March?? You’ll have to read to find out!
I love a good “friends to lovers” story!! I also love surprise appearances by characters from other series (hint, hint)! Can’t wait for book 4!!
The Man of the Month series continues with Cameron and Mina’s story. Cameron has a secret crush on his best friend’s sister. They are both working hard to finish school and start their careers.
This was a sweet book with low drama/angst and a little bit of heat. I loved the cameos from some of our favorite Stark world characters.
I am enjoying the Man of the Month series, and look forward to April.
“So if you want me to go, say so now. Because once I start touching you, I really don’t think I can stop.”
Well of course I love this book J Kenner wrote it, I loved the chemistry of the characters, the humor, Mr. March’s charming personality and I was giddy when past favorite characters made an appearance (just can’t get enough of Kenner’s world of characters and stories).
“A woman who, Cam had always believed, was so far out of his league he’d have a better shot climbing a ladder to heaven.”
What do you do when someone from your past comes along and turns your life plans upside down? What happens when the time comes to continue with your dreams? Do you sacrifice everything your head and heart have paved out or let your heart rule your decisions?
“…that’s when he realized that she was a magician…without him even realizing it, she’d pulled that damn carpet right out from under him.”
I cannot wait to read Start Me Up, book 4 in the Man of the Month series.
This is a friends to lover story and it was so good! We met Cameron before in Kiki and Noah’s book and in the previous books in this series and now Cam is getting his girl! Mina’s twin, Darryl, is home and he is Cam’s best friend and these three have been friends forever. Cam has had feelings for Mina for years but now it seems Mina has caught up and started seeing Cam as something more than just a friend. Sparks are igniting and these two take advantage of that. Will they keep it a secret or will the sparks turn into more? This was a delight and it was fun to watch Cam and Mina find their way. Also Kiki and Noah came back to town and Damien and Nikki made an appearance. This can be read as a standalone.
4.5 Star Review Need You Now (Man of the Month #3) by J Kenner
The third book in the series and is Cameron Reed and Mina Silver’s story. This was a fun quick friends to lovers story which flowed well and was entertaining.
Cameron has been in love with his best friends twin sister since childhood but she has never seen him in that light. Or has she?
Cameron is concerned that his friendship, not only with Mina, but is best friend, would be in jeopardy if he crosses the line and moves on his long buried passion. However when circumstances offer him the perfect opening, he decides to jump all in. Unfortunately Mina does not appear to be as committed to their new found relationship.
Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but honestly I think you will get more enjoyment if you read in order as previous characters pop in.
Will Mina put the new relationship she finds herself in with Cameron first, or will she take the job of a lifetime move across the country?
I fell really hard for Cameron and so wanted him to get his happily ever after. Mr March, you are one gorgeous man.
The characters were easy to relate to, not only the main characters but the supporting ones as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this extremely well written and entertaining story and I cannot wait for the next book in the Man Of The Month series.
Need You Now is the 3rd installment of the Man of the Month, a brand new series by J. Kenner. This one stars Cam, the youngest bartender at The Fix on Sixth, the bar where all the action takes place and is the main feature of all the interconnected stories. The owners of the bar need to improve sales and having a calendar contest the aforementioned Man of the Month is just one of the ideas they came up with.
There’s also a reality show being produced detailing the improvements to the bar and featuring the contest. Camhad entered the last one (Mr February) as a joke, but now for March, he’s dead serious.
Mina, is interring with the show’s producers and it’s here that she and Cam met, although they know each other already as she is Cam’s best friend’s sister. The girl he’s had his heart set on for a long time, so spending more time together is something he’s not adverse to.
Mina wants dreams of being a star, she has her eyes and heart set on LA, just hoping for a chance to shine, she’s totally oblivious to how Cam really feels about her. When he finally makes it clear where his affections and desires lie, she is forced to look at what she truly wants from her life.
Cam was pretty forceful with his intentions in this book, he seems like a happy-go-lucky kind of guy in the previous two stories, but then, he was just a secondary character.
Will his love be enough to for Mina or will she walk away?
It’s a chance of stardom or Cam, which will she choose?
Need you Now is book 3 in the Man if the Month Series and this Cameron Reed’s story or Mr March. Once again we are back at the bar in the run up to the lastest man of the month competition and in this sizzling read we get to know what makes Cam and Mina tick, we get to see a couple who have had feelings for each other for many years come to terms with those feelings but will Cam cross the line of friendship after all Mina is his best friends sister and she should be off limits. This is a great friends to lovers story but it also has a few twists and turns and a few surprise guests from previous books. For me each book in this series is as good if not better than the previous and means we are heading towards another brilliant series from the very talented J. Kenner, every character so far has been loveable and the chemistry has been sizzling and I’m sure the sparks will be flying in Mr April.
