Need for Speed is the continuation of Solo and Panther’s story and should only be read after book one, Danger Zone.
They train to serve their country.
They strive to be the best.
But only a select few can be…

What a great to follow up the previous book! I’ve neen dying to read this.
This book has all the feels. We get into the characters’ lives like we couldn’t do in book 1. While we still have lots of action as this is a one big story, we get more of Mateo and Grant’s moments and their confrontations, plus the fact that they are finally ready -kind of -to admit their feelings and stop pretending it’s just a lust-for-now thing what’s going on between them.
This is a very steamy, funny, action-pack and fast-paced book and I’m sure the next one will be the same. I like all the characters besides the main couple so I really hope the authors decide to extend their skills and give us more stories once this is over.
And last but not least, unlike the previous installment, this one doesn’t have a cliffhanger per se.
That Cliffy had me feeling the Need for Speed of Time! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
I’m feeling the Need for Speed of Time! I really need the next book.. it was that good! The angst, longing and satisfying wins in this book. I’m hating on the fact that I have to wait for the next book (in the best way possible) I also may be cursing until I get it in my hands… these men are going to be the death of me!
Five Flying Stars !
Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine you both are so cruel with that ending! Just saying!
Need for Speed , book two of The Elite series, picked up right off from the cliffhanger in Danger Zone . While the first book was filled with sexual tension as Grant and Mateo fought and resist their attraction towards each other, this book was filled with swoon as their relationship blossomed. I was loving every minute of this thrilling ride.
We got to know the couple better and saw their vulnerabilities and fears. Mateo was by Grant side every step of the way as Grant recovered from his death experience and regained his confidence in the cockpit. I love the connection they formed as they faced all of the bumps and the passionate sexy times they shared. It was bittersweet to see how they were struggling internally with the truth that they were falling in love with each other. This accident had Grant re-evaluated his priorities in life and realized that there was something or someone more important than being a fighter pilot or pleasing his dad.
Grant made a bold decision at the end of the book. I cannot wait to see how the couple would navigate from this pivotal point in Classified, the next installment in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
As a heads up these need to be read in order…….Need for Speed is the second book in The Elite series. It picks up right where b0ok one leaves off. In this book we dive deeper into Panther and Solo and their characters. Their characters are more fleshed out in this installment and I loved seeing what makes them tick. We still get lots of smoking hot chemistry and it ends in another cliffy, but I’m excited to see their HEA.
Need for Speed, book 2 of 3 in The Elite series is an exhilarating read. My heart was pounding out of my chest during the descriptive flight scenes that had my stomach flipping and pattering like a drum during the intimate moments between Panther and Solo.
These guys are near and dear to my heart and super special!
Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine have created a seamless story of two hotshot pilots that have found much more than the meaning of basking in each other for a night: a toe curling sense of belonging together despite the odds they’ve yet to face.
I couldn’t put down this fast-paced story, which left me with a major what happens next hangover. The cliffy is divine. Book 3 cannot come fast enough
Things are definitely heating up between Solo and Panther as their story continues in The Need for Speed, Book two in The Elite series.
I just love Solo and Panthers story! These two fearless, strong men are having to come to terms with their feelings toward each other now that they have been spending so much time together after Panthers accident. They are both at a crossroads personally and one of them professionally so there are a lot of decisions that are going to be made especially if they want a future together. Can they make their relationship work within the confines of the military and we are left wondering if they are going to make a leap of faith together and see where the cards fall. I can’t wait to find out where their story will go and just like you I am hoping to have all my questions answered in the last book in this amazing trilogy!
“Do you trust me?”
Let me just say Need for Speed was just as amazing as Danger Zone. Solo and Panther are back in Need for Speed and you can’t help but fall in love with them even more. After the damn cliffhanger we got at the end of Danger Zone, I wasn’t sure what was going to happen with these two. I mean I knew what I wanted and was hoping for, but I didn’t expect that cliffy either. Everything about these two has my heart happy.
Seeing where their story picked up in Need for Speed was just what I needed. I love how perfect they are for each other. You are able to see a different side of Solo that I wasn’t expecting. It seriously made me love him even more. Watching these two in Need for Speed, gives you another look at their budding romance and you can’t wait to see what happens with their relationship.
This didn’t end on as much of a cliffhanger, but I’m still dying to know what happens in book 3!
***5 Stars***
Ooooohhhhhh
*Eyes go wide and a very unlady like squee leaves my mouth as I do a booty dance in my chair*
Yaaasss!
I seriously need Classified like yesterday…
But since I know that won’t happen…let’s get to Solo and Panther.
Well…at least what I can get to when it comes to these two very alpha males without spoiling anything…I loved these two in Danger Zone and that love got amp’d up a thousandfold here. I loved delving deeper into what truly made these two tick and how they ended up helping each other stronger in the smallest but most meaningful of ways. The chemistry between them is even hotter in this book and I cannot wait to see how everything ends up for them.
Now, based on the start of this review, you can tell that the ending of this book is a tad bit different than the first book, but it’s no less heart pumping. It was done perfectly and has me making grabby hands like crazy! But I shall practice patience and try not to squeal like little girl when it finally lands on the Kindle.

Actually had tears in my eyes at the end of this one. Grant and Mateo go one quite the journey from the undeniable attraction to what they are at the end of Need for Speed. A lot of character growth and a change of mission plans. I don’t think either planned for what happened at NAFTA since they both showed up on day one. I loved the way these two just gravitate to each other now and brighten the entire mood. The characters pop off the page and make me feel pulled into their orbit…teetering on the edge for each decision. Each interaction. Wanting more for them. Can’t wait the next flight of Solo and Panther. So good!
Nothing short of scorching hot, page-turning goodness. Panther and Solo have flown their way into my heart with their good looks and off the chart chemistry. Need for Speed: The Elite #2 has everything I want in a MM romance and it is neatly wrapped up in flight suits, aviators and dog tags.
These two …..GAWD… I freaking love them. “It was more than I’d ever experienced with another human being, and if I never felt this way again, I could die knowing I’d touched the sky right there in his arms, without getting in a plane to do so.”
Two men, two lives and two careers that could lead them down separate paths but neither one of them knows what the future holds. Ella Frank masterfully writes in this genre captivating me with every chapter. I cannot wait until Classified (The Elite Book 3) is released or should I say until the next hop…..

Yesssss! I have been impatiently awaiting Need For Speed to turn up on my reaader, and it was everything and more than I needed.
After the cliffhanger we were left with after book one, I was waiting on tenterhooks for the second installment. What happened to Panther? How does Solo deal? What is going to happen with their relationship?
Oh, how I adored this installment. The Goose/Maverick vibes are strong in this one (can anyone say volleyball game?!?) an I loved the interactions between our lovelies. So much sexal tension *fans self*
The story started to take a different turn that I was not expecting, and just as we were about to find out where things were going.. BAM we were left hanging – again. But we don’t have long to wait.
I loved the rest of the fly guys (and gals), and I can’t wait to see the conclusion.
The need for speed is just what the doctor ordered! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
So once I started this book I could not put it down. Read until my eyes closed…..The second book picks up where the 1st leaves off and lets us know how these two survive the ending of the first book. When these two spend more time together because of the injuries Panther sustained, being in close quarters brings these two a new addiction they are not sure they can handle. These two are growing and learning at every turn. The ending of this one has your mouth dropping just like the last one…..Where will these two end up and can they survive the next steps…..When is book number three coming out I need it like yesterday!!
The high octane series continues with this steamy story between Solo and Panther. Ella and Brooke left us with a huge cliffhanger in Danger Zone and we finally find out how Panther fared when he ejected from his fighter jet. This continuation hits on a more emotional level, while still keeping the chemistry brewing between the two men. It still ends on a cliffhanger as this is just the middle portion of their story, but their ending is in sight.
Everyone has a moment in their life when they come to a fork in the road of a major life decision. Do you stay with the job you are currently working at or pursue a new one? Do you buy a new car or keep driving your current one? Is it time to move into a larger home or just make updates to where I’m living?
Even though every fighter jet pilot practices and prepares for the worst case scenario, you don’t actually think it will happen to you. When Panther has to make the split second decision to eject from his jet as he watches his jet crash into the ocean, that life or death decision changes his outlook on what is important in his own life.
Throwing the ever infalible Solo off his game when Panther begins showing him affection, Solo finds himself in new territory. What started as a way to blow off steam during this assignment is turning into more. He helps Panther heal mentally and physically and this only brings them closer, something neither one of them argue about.
Both Panther and Solo are heading into new waters and navigating what they’ve never allowed themselves to feel before it certainly can’t be any scarier than almost dying or watching someone almost die so perhaps they should go all in? With these two you know they don’t hold back much, so once they do decide it will be at full speed.
Ok I liked this next installment, and come on, we all know what is going to happen when this book started. Ella and Brooke wouldn’t do anything to make us mad, I hope lol. This installment read really fast and I can only hope book 3 will be icing on the cake! I feel things are going to go down and queue the family drama!
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
4.5 I liked Need for Speed even more than Danger Zone. I like Grant and Mateo even more now than after the first. Mateo was much more likable in Need for Speed in my opinion. He had some moments in Danger Zone where he was a bit irritating and frustrating, but not in Need for Speed. He was sweeter and more open, but of course he still has his cocky, bad-boy side. I like how Mateo and Grant are with each other, they fit well together. As always the book was filled with lots of steamy moments and action. I can’t wait for Classified! *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
4.5+ stars
I was dying to read this one after the cliffhanger in the first one, and just to get more Panther and Solo! That event will have a profound effect for both of them.
This is the section of their trilogy where things begin to change course. They start to spend more time together, become more vulnerable and communicative, and begin to feel more than they were prepared for.
And these two really are wonderful together. I enjoyed seeing different sides to them. Solo is not always the reckless, cocky, party guy. And he has demons that set him on his solo path. And Panther has new fears to face and is undergoing a journey of self-discovery. He has always been a people pleaser and followed the rules his whole life but is questioning if he wants to continue to do that or find his own path.
And along with the more emotional undercurrents are some really, H-O-T sexy times. I love how these two are not afraid to let the other lead and just go along for the ride. They have dirty banter, sexual tension, and are just insatiable. But it does not just seem like filler sex scenes as they are also being more vulnerable during these intimate times.
I enjoyed more with their friends especially Houdini, Gucci, and Whiplash. They taunt, tease, but are also there for each other. And both guys have family history that has affected them.
And it brings us to a conclusion where they will have to start figuring out for themselves where they are going, because they are heading there fast and furious…and this is a whole new trajectory for them both.
I cannot wait for the conclusion, Classified.

This continuation of The Elite series hits all the right spots. Frank and Blaine once again combine that lustful heat between Solo and Panther with their more sensitive sides, which made them even more attractive to both each other and to me. I loved getting to know them a bit more, with each of these elite pilots opening up their hearts to the other and realizing just how far each had fallen in such a short period of time. The true need for speed seemed to find a new meaning for both and it had nothing to do with their training in the skies.
Solo and Panther have wicked sexy trysts that are the trademark of these two co-authors with having to squirm in my seat almost a prerequisite for reading their work. You can’t help yourself at the naughty thoughts that might overpower your mind and yet it’s one of the bonuses for getting lost in their decadent words.
Picking up right where we left off in book one, Danger Zone, it’s apparent that Solo and Panther are in this newfound relationship with much more than they originally bargained for. Their actions speak volumes as the thought of trying to stay apart only fuels the heat between them. And as the book comes to a close, what might happen next in Classified, may prove to be the ultimate declaration for both of them.
Addictive, sensual and at times truly touching, I happily give Need for Speed a solid 4 stars!
I devoured this book in one reading. The second book is this series. It starts right off where we were left in book 1 and it did not disappoint. You see Solo and Panther learning to handle their new found addiction for each other all the while watching them grow. The lust and desire just ramps up more and more. Of course it ends in another doozie of a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to get their conclusion.
I just love these two. This book takes off right where they left us in book one. I love Grant and Mateo, they are just so sweet, alpa, and sexy! This book brings us through some really life changing ah-ha moments. I like the way the authors let it show and not one person said a thing while it was all going down. The only problem I had with this book, it ended in another cliffy and there is a third book! WHAT??
There really needs to be an option to give a book more than 5 stars because wow, this book definitely deserves all of the stars!!
This review is going to be short and to the point because I don’t want to give anything away. However, I will say, I can’t get enough of this series. Panther and Solo are the opposite sides of the same coin and their need for each other is white hot. This story picks up right where Danger Zone left off, and it’s fast paced from the first to the last page.
Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine have once again wrote a book that has left me begging for more. I need to know what’s going to happen and how Panther and Solo’s story is going to end. Although, I’ll be quite honest, with the way these two draw you into the story, I don’t ever want it to end. Ella and Brooke paint a vivid picture, and you can see how the story is playing out in your head, and feel the emotions that Panther and Solo are feeling. Hands down, this series has become one of my favorite MM series!!
