Tristan is a vampire with a ravenous but insatiable appetite. For ten years he hasn’t once had his hunger sated. He feeds constantly, looking for satisfaction and because his favourite way to feed is during sex, he goes through a lot of women. But when Kyla is brought to him as a gift to celebrate a surprise promotion that gets him to the last rung of the ladder before becoming king his world is turned on its axis.
From the second their eyes lock he knows there’s something different about her. After he gets a taste of Kyla, neither of them will ever be the same.
This is the first book in a series about blood, lust, bloodlust, danger, sex, deceit, inner turmoil, love, and finding your true self.
“Between the taste of you, the taste of your blood, and the way you look at me, I haven’t felt this… alive… in… maybe ever.”
“Dimples, blue eyes, tall, dark, and movie-star beautiful? The man was almost totally constructed out of kryptonite. Almost. The fangs? Yeah, not so much…”
This book is book #1 in a trilogy and it does end on a cliffhanger. Books 2 & 3 are available.

Wow! This book blew me away! I don’t read vampire books, like ever! I love this author and people raved about so I took a chance and am I glad I did! This story has everything, mystery, passion, intrigue. Loved the characters! They are stubborn, passionate, and connected like no other couple. So many feels! Even if you don’t normally read vampire books, I highly recommend you try this book!
A deliciously dark and dirty vampire hot enough to turn your hair curly. Yes, thank you, I will have some more, Tristan! He made me want it dark and twisty, he’s so bad and I loved it.
Tristan….Tristan….sweet…sexy….vicious Tristan. I don’t believe I have ever lusted after a character so much in my 29yrs of life. He is so…unapologetically Tristan.
Kyla, admittedly I had issues connecting with her because her name is very similiar to someone I know, but I finally managed to get past that at about 3/4th through the book. Kyla is such a strong…emotionally challenged character and I adore her for that. I have been there where I just bblocked out my emotions to survive so I really connected with that.
The things Tristan says…gosh they could make any woman swoon. I have to admit the whole “nectar” twist at the end just blew my mind! And that cliff…gosh guys have the second book on hand because you will need it!
I still have so many unanswered questions and am anxiously diving into book two! Bravo DD Prince.
Ps. I can not wait for Tristan’s prospective!
5.0 stars
In honor of one of my favorite author’s birthday I’m doing a reread of one of my favorite series. I could have sworn I reviewed this (might have been the box set).
If you haven’t read this series you really need to because Tristan…. Mmmm hmmm
Love this I am on the third book of this series DD Prince is a wonderful vampire story teller
I really loved this one! It kept me glued to
every page, but; hated that I didn’t catch the warning about it being a cliff hanger! lol My fault for getting in a hurry to read.
Tristan is so hot, dominant and fierce it makes me wish I were Kyla. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way but you should dive in and live the fantasy anyway. I love a vampire with a side of OTT possessiveness. Kyla isn’t a meek girl so when they clash it is absolutely divine. Well worth reading!
This book has a lot going on and is great. I like it so much, I bought the next two books in the series!!!
This one of my Favorite Books!!!
If you want erotic this is your book.
It’s a cliff-hanger, let’s get that out of the way first. But it is hot ans scary, with so many twists and turns you’ll get dizzy. Really hot and scary hero! Great read for a dark and stormy night.
I loved it
I love vampire books, and this one, rates 5 plus stars!!! It puts a new twist on this genre, amazing!!!
Fast paced and unpredictable. The characters are wonderful and flawed. New take on vampire stories.
OMG READ THIS TRILOGY….nuff said!
It all begins with Nectar! Tristen is one smoking hot vampire and when he meets Kyla his world just explodes. I have read a lot of vampire books but never one like this fantastic read. DD Prince puts some spins on this story that make it truly one of a kind. There were parts in here where I sat with my mouth open in awe of her creativity. If you are a lover of steamy vampire tales than this is a MUST read.
“Beware of boys with eyes of brown, they’ll kiss you once and turn you down. Beware of boys with eyes of blue; they’ll kiss you once and ask for two.”
What did I just read
I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did!
I didn’t love Tristan to begin with, by my god that soon changed! He tries so fucking hard for Kyla and he’s just *swoooon* everything
“I know you’re afraid. I’ll be strong for you, baby. Gimme that fear; let me crush it.”
Kyla I loved from the get go, she’s so snarky, even in the literal face of danger she’s still witty and sarcastic
“No, no way was she going to fall for his voodoo Love Potion Number 9 vampire charm.”
Come on, girl, who you kidding?! I don’t think anyone could resist Tristan!
Tristan and Kyla certainly have a bumpy ride and it is far from over! I can’t wait to dive into book 2
Sometimes you discover a writer from the first book that she writes and you follow her from there on, sometimes you discover a writer later on and then you have many books of hers to discover, new and old ones. This was the case with this writer, DD Prince. I discovered her through her book Detour (one of my favourite MC book and MC series!) and since then I have read almost all of her books except her vampire trilogy ‘Nectar’ that she wrote at the beginning of her writing career. And after reading a lot of sweet stories the last few weeks, I was in the mood for something darker so I decided to read this book/trilogy.
This story is about Kyla Spencer, a human who is all alone in the world and who works very hard to build a better future for herself. But then one night, she is kidnapped outside of her workplace by two men. She wakes up in an unfamiliar bedroom where another stranger is watching her. A very handsome, alluring, arrogant, dominant stranger. During that night Kyla discovers that the man, whose name is Tristan, isn’t just a man. No, he’s a vampire! A vampire that doesn’t only want to have sex with her but he also wants to feed from her, by drinking her blood during sex! And that is the beginning of their story because once Tristan tastes her blood, he becomes obsessed with Kyla and her blood and he has no plans of letting her go. But Tristan may be a very dangerous vampire, the world where he lives in is even more dangerous. Can Tristan keep Kyla safe and can he convince her that they belong together?
I must say that it took me some time to really get into the story. I think that part of that was because for the last few weeks, I had read mostly sweet romance stories (and Nectar wasn’t sweet) and the other reason was because of the build-up of the story. Where other writers bombard you in the beginning of a new story with (sometimes too much) information and facts, here the opposite was the case. The vampire world was very slowly revealed to the reader (and also to the female main character Kyla) with a sentence here and there, very slowburn, so it took me some time to figure out the vampires and their world in this story. Because they felt a bit different than vampires in other stories that I have read. The vampires here didn’t have problems with sunlight, they didn’t need to sleep during the day, they could eat food and drink alcohol. They did have fangs (you can’t be a vampire without them), they were also strong, beautiful and moved very quickly and some also had other extra talents.
But where the story was slowburn the connection between Tristan and Kyla was the total opposite of that, it was very fastburn. Right, from the first bite Tristan knew that Kyla was special and he tried to convince her of that in very sexy ways. Tristan was a very possessive, intelligent, dominant alpha vampire but he also had a softer and sweeter side that he only showed to Kyla. You could really feel his struggle with those two sides inside him, the dangerous vampire side and the softer, emotional ‘human’ side and because of that I could forgive him many things (just like Kyla did). Kyla was also a very fascinating character. She was strong, hardworking, independent, sassy but she was also very guarded with her feelings. But the one thing that I really appreciated about her is that although she shared her opinions very clearly with Tristan and sometimes very heatedly, she also knew when to stop arguing/fighting, she wasn’t being difficult just to be difficult. No! She was a human woman kidnapped and held prisoner and was very conflicted about that and especially about her emotions for the sensual and sexy vampire who kept her in his bedroom. For me, she acted very humanly on her situation.
The connection between Tristan and Kyla was intense, sexual, deep and mysterious. The story was intense with steamy sex scenes where the dangerous vampire took what he wanted and needed from the human woman (sex and blood) but to me, it never really felt like rape. Because from the first sex scene you could already feel the connection between them. But I can understand if other readers think differently about it.
In the end, I enjoyed the story and I think it will not be a big surprise if I say that the story ended with a cliffhanger. But good news, the whole trilogy is already published so you can read the second book immediately after the first one.
I picked this up because I loved the Hollow Duet and wanted to read some more supernatural romance stories but I just couldn’t get into the story which I read up to 30% and decided this one just wasn’t for me. I was interested in the blurb and I feel like there was a good story there but the constant describing of Tristan smelling like different sweets didn’t tickle my fancy at all. lol The back and forth feelings with Kyla drove me nuts as well. As I read further in it still felt like nothing was happening to really draw me in and want me to devour the rest of the story so for me it just didn’t hit the mark but I’m sure for some they might enjoy all these things. I normally try and finish a book once I’ve started in order to give a fair review I feel its important to give the writers story a chance but I just couldn’t with this one but I will still try reading other books by D.D. Prince.
When I started the book, I thought I wouldn’t like it and almost quit. But soon that all changed and I couldn’t put it down. Just couldn’t read fast enough! Really wanted everything to work out for Tristan and Kyla and I thought it was until……….
