My life is over.I swore I would never work at the whiskey distillery with my last name on it, that I would never be a part of my father’s legacy. But when I graduated with my art degree and realized there were no jobs, the devil appeared, and I sold my soul, agreeing to work in the family business if he’d give me the art studio I’d always dreamed of.It can’t be that bad, I thought. Until I … I thought.
Until I realized my new boss was Logan Becker.
The Becker brothers have a reputation for being trouble, and since I love trouble, it’s no surprise to me that I’m infatuated by that forbidden fruit the first day I walk into the distillery. That lean, whiskey-eyed, too-hot-for-his-own-good man hates me — and I can’t blame him. His family has been at war with mine for decades, and for good reason.
The Beckers and the Scooters are the Montagues and Capulets of Stratford, Tennessee.
But if he’s Romeo, and I’m Juliet? Well… we all know how that story ends — and for that reason, I tell myself to steer clear.
Because if my father finds out I’m falling for Logan Becker, my life actually will be over.
And Logan’s will be, too.

This book and these two characters absolutely consumed me. I was held prisoner by the words that created such an unbelievable world. A world that has drawn me in through the first two books and has left me chomping at the bit for more of these Becker brothers who will let nothing and no one stand in their way of love.
“When we fell, we fell hard. When we loved, we loved with all we had. When we fought, we fought until we dropped. And when one of us was knocked down, the whole team stopped everything to get them back on their feet. That was the Becker way.”
Believe me when I say you will fall for Logan and Mallory. You will fight for them and you will want them to get the happy ever after they deserve all the while cursing those who try to stand in their way.
Neat was a delightful small town read with just the perfect mix of intrigue and angst to instantly captivate me.
I couldn’t get enough of Logan Becker. Intelligent, driven, loyal with a huge heart and determined to keep his father’s legacy alive and strong. I adored his quirks and loved how his world was rocked by Mallory Scooter.
A passionate spitfire who just wanted to follow her dreams Mallory was the perfect person to shake up Logan’s neat and orderly life. Despite their family’s age old feud these two were just what the other needed. I enjoyed the push and pull between them as well as the sweet moments they shared.
Neat was such a sweet, emotional and intriguing read. I somehow missed the first book in this series but Neat can definitely be read and enjoyed as a standalone. That said I’m now even more curious about the Becker brothers and can’t wait to discover more about them.
I love the Becker Brother’s and throw in a modern twist on Romeo and Juliet, I AM SOLD! I loved Logan and Mallory’s story so much. They weren’t suppose to be friends, they were from two families that couldn’t stand each other, but they were drawn to each other. Will they be willing to risk everything to be together?
Logan is the head tour guide at Scooter’s Distillery. He is a shoe in for a promotion, but he is a Becker. Becker’s and Scooter’s don’t get along. They have a history. Mallory Scooter is a rebel, she wanted nothing to do with her families Distillery, but in order to have her dream art studio she has to work in the family business.
I loved the chemistry between Logan and Mallory. They knew both their families wouldn’t approve of their relationship, but they couldn’t stay away from each other. They were drawn to each other. They both judge each other, but slowly found out there is more hidden beneath the layers.
I can’t wait for more of the Becker brothers. Neat is a MUST READ BOOK!
4.5/5 sᴛᴀʀs
Such an incredibly sweet small town romance story about two lovers who’s family histories meant they could never be together. But they were determined to create a space where they could be.
I absolutely adored Logan Becker! He was incredibly humble, intelligent, driven, loyal, and so sexy! He was the epitome of a perfect book boyfriend! Loved his mama, cared immensely about his job, helped others, read books, watched documentaries and was a total neat freak. The most endearing freaking man on the planet!!!!
Mallory was a complete spit fire who did anything and everything to spite her family’s suffocating demands and uppity lifestyle. She was educated, passionate, incredibly talented and fierce. I loved her unique qualities and fell head over heels for her fashion sense and edgy appearance.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of On the Rocks (the first book in this series) so I was slightly apprehensive about diving into this one. I’m so glad I have it an open-minded shot. It was such an incredible story and so well written. This book had the type of characters and writing that made me fall in love with Steiner’s work in the first place. I swooned during the sweet little moments the H/h shared when in their own little world. I was in awe of the fact that both characters were so darn likable. Even at their lowest moments, it is was impossible to dislike either of them! Neat had all of the key elements you need from a contemporary romance novel.
Can I also just take a moment to give a giant slap on the back to Kandi for the intimacy she wrote on this book?!? Holy moly! The forbidden and naughty ventures she took these characters on!!! I did NOT expect Logan to be such a little freak!!!!! I think those scenes alone launched this book into 4+ star territory HAHA
I can’t wait for Michael’s book and more cameos from the Becker boys!
Book two of the Becker brothers series and I’m obsessed. Logan and Mallory are complete opposites they really couldn’t be more different. Logan is quiet and steady, he’s a planner who likes order. Mallory is chaos she’s loud and impulsive. I love the sense of family in these interconnected books, their bond is so strong. The romance between them was beautiful to read. It progresses naturally from a sweet genuine friendship to passionate love. The mystery of their father’s death is still just that but the guys are determined to keep looking for answers. With family loyalties on both sides against them they will have to work hard to be together.
The Becker family has always worked for the Scooter Distillery, even in times of discord. Logan Becker currently is a tour guide for the facility, and has held the position for many years. Working his way up through the company has given Logan a sense of pride about his job. Now – the Becker brother finds himself tasked with training one of the Scooters in spite of their family rivalry.
How did this rivalry begin? The Becker family has always played a huge part in the distillery. From barrel making to executive decisions, the Becker family possessed an intrical part in making the company what it is today. However – only the Scooter name is attached to the company. Logan’s father perished in a fire at the company that had mysterious circumstances surrounding its cause. This birthed a firestorm that has created one of the biggest rivalries in town.
Logan is now faced with training a Scooter to lead guided tours. Nothing about Mallory is typical for a Scooter. In fact – the brazen beauty is the opposite of everything that one would expect from the family that seems to own the town. From her hair to her shoes, Mallory is a walking contradiction to the name Scooter. The moment Mallory walked into Logan’s office, an attraction between the two grew to epic proportions. How can two sworn enemies act on what is certainly ‘forbidden’ by both of their families? Only time will tell what part Logan and Mallory will play in this ever changing dynamic of rivaling families.
Neat is the latest addition to the Kandi Steiner collection. Logan is the latest Becker brother to lead us through the lives of the Scooter Distillery legacy. The dynamic between Mallory and Logan is reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet. Their attraction a definite faux pas in the lives of both the Scooter and Becker legacies. Secrets are still lurking surrounding the death of Logan’s father, and it only fuels more controversy and the relationship unfolds.
While I thoroughly enjoyed Logan and Mallory’s attraction, I found myself wanting more information. There is a bit of drama surrounding a punishment at the distillery that will open a few hidden doors. However – the part that this secret will uncover felt a bit ‘flat’. The ending just wasn’t where I thought it should be for two characters that hold so much depth with their individuality. The story builds…..then its like a door shuts and you are trying to turn the handle without success. The feeling that I received was incomplete when turning the last page of this saga. While all secrets cannot unfold, I felt the build up to this romance wasn’t complete when ending Neat.
All in all – Neat is a true forbidden love story. It definitely follows a Romeo and Juliet theme with a bit of tainted family legacy. If you are drawn to ‘impossible’ love, then you will not want to skip out on the saga that unfolds between the Scooter and Becker families!!
“We were inevitable, me and him.”
Mallory and Logan were thrown together, a history of unrequited interest and over decades’ long family rivalry of which the progeny of the family fell victim. All of the odds were stacked against them. But the chemistry between Mallory and Logan persisted. Regardless of a chip on Mallory’s shoulder against her father, no matter the adversity Logan faced at the distillery – these two were star-crossed lovers with such an intense gravitational pull to the other that resistance was not only futile but painful.
“Do you think there’s a universe that exists where you could be mine?”
These two truly are a modern-day Romeo and Juliet – angst-ridden and tortured by circumstances beyond their control – but even better. Unlike the original R&J, these two have a little more life experience and insight into themselves. And because of this, they find how to become better versions of themselves with each other. And they realize what is the most important thing in their lives and what is worth fighting for.
“All I felt was a profound sense of right, and the most powerful wave of possession I’d ever experience in my life.”
And the beauty of these two is the purity of their connection. It doesn’t mean that there isn’t sacrifice, hurt, or pain. What it does mean is the journey and the destination are both worthwhile.
“Mallory pulled my lips to hers, and the way she kissed me was so desperate, so thick with need, I was sure I was her lifeline. The oxygen she needed existed in my lungs, the shelter an protection she craved was provided by my hands, the care and understanding she’d been searching for, she found in my embrace.”
Be prepared for love. Be prepared for intrigue. Be prepared for a pair who is polar opposite and yet perfectly complementary. Be prepared to fall and love and lose your heart to the Becker boys.
Gah, my heart! Such a beautiful, beautiful story! As usual, Kandi captures all of the raw emotions the characters are feeling and the angst over their situations. I absolutely adore the Becker family and love the close knit bond they all have! I felt so bad for Mallory and her family dynamics but loved her strength and bad ass attitude! Phenomenal book!
Neat by Kandi Steiner is now available and in Kindle Unlimited! This small town, country romance is the perfect cozy, warm, fall read!
Neat was a good read. I totally fell in love with the Becker brothers in On the Rocks. This one can be read as a standalone though. Logan is a great guy. He works at the distillery. He’s good at his job. He’s a Becker and the Beckers and Scooters don’t get along. Mallory is a Scooter. She’s a new worker at the distillery. She acts kind of bratty at first but her bratty behavior doesn’t last long. She’s definitely sassy. Logan has had a crush on Mallory for awhile but her being a Scooter has kept him away. With her working at the distillery they have time to get to know each other. Logan and Mallory have great chemistry. They have obstacles to overcome and the whole story was perfectly written.
This book was amazing to read. I loved Logan and Mals story so much. Kandi has a way of telling her stories that makes you want more. The storyline flowed and had me glued to my kindle till I was done. Highly recommend this book.
Every time I read a story by Kandi Steiner, I know to be prepared for a great story. Neat (Book 2 of the Becker Brothers Series) definitely fills that bill. This story is even a step above. There is more mystery and there are more hidden secrets waiting to get out.
Logan Becker is the local, level headed brother with a heart of gold. Small town gossip does not come close to describing this alpha male. He is driven, independent, smart, and a natural leader. But he is also all Becker. The troubling battle he is dealing with is one the entire family shares.
Mallory Scooter is the anti-small town girl that grew up in that small town. She is not interested in the drab simplicity that comes with small communities and she is definitely not one to adhere to the family dynamics. She is a fighter and she is independent; a woman who stands on her own and fights for what is right. Yet even she cannot compete with the realities of life.
This story had me wrapped from beginning to end. Kandi pulled on all the strings in my mind. And the passion scenes are “oh damn” nice. Watching these two discover there is so much more to each alone, not to mention even more when they are together is heart warming. And even when we see them finally understand where they belong, Kandi still leaves us with questions unanswered.
What a great story Kandi. Worth all the stars and I definitely will be waiting for the next story!
I am happy to give this book a fabulous 5+ stars
Seriously!! I don’t know how this woman does it but she has twisted a story so well, Logan Becker stole my heart! Kandi Steiner does it again!! This is one of the best books I have had the pleasure of reading all year…
Logan Beaker is a creature of habit. Had built his life in a strict routine. Everything in order. Every item has its place. That is until Mallory Scooter crashes into his life. Invading his work and his life, causing a ripple of chaos.
Mallory and Logan are polar opposites. Logan likes order and cleanliness leaning towards OCD. Mallory is a chaotic messy artist.
The angst in this book made my skin prickle. I felt every feeling right along side Logan and Mallory. The joy, anger, sadness and love.
Mallory and Logan have every force against their relationship. Since he was young, Logan has crushed on the enigma that is Mallory Scooter. But was never able to confess his feelings to anyone because their families are mortal enemies.
Mallory Scooter doesn’t want anything to do with her father or her family legacy. But makes deal with the devil to make her dreams of a art studio become reality. For her to keep them alive she has to keep away from Logan Becker. When they cannot fight the chemistry they have, they must keep their relationship a secret.
They fight against every force against them. Overcome everything standing in their way to love.
Kandi Steiner has they art of writing angsty small town romances down. I loved every word of this book. Cannot wait for the next Becker book! The more of the Becker Brothers I can devour the better 🙂
Family is what is important, this is what Logan was taught growing up by his father and his father before him. His family legacy has to be kept up in the small town of Stratford, Tennessee. But when you have a feud the likes of Romeo and Juliet brewing and your part of it well, fighting for family becomes more than just a passion it it everything.
Then comes the girl of his dreams, Mallory, and she is the daughter of the family involved in the feud. This can only bring disaster. But what is a little mess in a romance? I think the messier the story the stronger the bond. This story my friends has a whole lot of mess in it, and it is the perfect mix that makes this distillery of feuding families love harder and have more to prove to one another. The perfect drink, goes down easy and leaves a kick in its wake. Logan and Mallory are that messy kind of love that you know are going to sneak into your heart easy but give you that kick making you want another and another.
Messy was never as beautiful as the love that they share!
4.5 stars
”It was like two magnets being held away from each other for years, finally being released and clashing.”
Kandi Steiner has just a way with words, I can’t describe. I think there is nothing, this author can’t write without touching your heart and soul.
“I see the first woman to steal my heart, and the only woman I ever want to keep it.”
Neat is another perfect example for this. Reading this book is like watching a summer sunset, catching the last warming rays of sunlight on your skin, feeling the power of the sun. It does things to your body you’ll remember forever.
When we fell, we fell hard. When we loved, we loved with all we had.
Logan, how can I describe someone so perfect? I never expected to fall in instant love with a character that’s no bad boy at all. Logan has not one bad bone in his body. If there is a Logan in real life, please send him my way!
Malory is a whirlwind of colors. She’s a ray of sunshine with a direct line to the reader’s heart. If I could, I would adopt her as my new BFF.
He was my Romeo, and I his Juliet, and our families be damned – we were going to make it.
Neat has everything a romance reader’s heart dreams of and I loved every minute with it!

I thought this was a good read! This was the second in this series, but you didn’t have to read the first one to be able to enjoy this one. Logan was a good guy, and the peace maker of his family. Mallory went against everything her family stood for, but that wasn’t a bad thing. I thought that Logan and Mallory made a great couple, and they were good together. When the drama happens, I was happy to see Logan’s brothers there for him. The relationship between them plays a big role in their lives. The only thing that would have made this book better would have been more about the secret with their dad. I know that the side story is going to have to play out through the rest of the series, but I REALLY want to know what happens! I thought the ending was sweet, and it cracked me up with Logan’s mom having a “chat” with Mallory 🙂 I can’t wait to read Jordan’s story!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Neat is a standalone book in the Becker Brothers Series. This is a sexy, emotional romance with Romeo and Juliet vibes that ends with a HEA. Logan and Mallory will have you swooning
I enjoyed this sweet, sizzling, romantic, with a touch of angst read. It was entertaining and put a fresh spin on a Romeo and Juliet romance. I loved the characters and the family aspect from the Beckers. They all brought their own uniqueness that enhanced the story-line. The push and pull between Logan and Mallory certainly kept things interesting.
Another epic and beautiful story by Kandi Steiner! I can’t wait to see which Becker brother is next!
Another Great read from this author. I am loving this small town country journey that she is taking me on with the Becker Brother series. Being that this series is set in my hometown state of Tennessee is an added bonus. Kandi depicts the beautiful state perfectly! Logan and Mallory’s story is so heartfelt and a beautiful opposites attract story. Their story comes with all the feels along with some Romeo and Juliet vibes. This new to me author has blown me away with her writing and made me fall in love with the whole Becker family from the first book On The Rocks to this one and I can’t wait to get that next book. I am highly recommending that you check out this author and I’m pretty sure that you will fall in love with these hot brothers as much as I have.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
