My life is over.I swore I would never work at the whiskey distillery with my last name on it, that I would never be a part of my father’s legacy. But when I graduated with my art degree and realized there were no jobs, the devil appeared, and I sold my soul, agreeing to work in the family business if he’d give me the art studio I’d always dreamed of.It can’t be that bad, I thought. Until I … I thought.
Until I realized my new boss was Logan Becker.
The Becker brothers have a reputation for being trouble, and since I love trouble, it’s no surprise to me that I’m infatuated by that forbidden fruit the first day I walk into the distillery. That lean, whiskey-eyed, too-hot-for-his-own-good man hates me — and I can’t blame him. His family has been at war with mine for decades, and for good reason.
The Beckers and the Scooters are the Montagues and Capulets of Stratford, Tennessee.
But if he’s Romeo, and I’m Juliet? Well… we all know how that story ends — and for that reason, I tell myself to steer clear.
Because if my father finds out I’m falling for Logan Becker, my life actually will be over.
And Logan’s will be, too.

A searingly gorgeous small town southern romance Romeo and Juliet style (without the sad ending of course). Logan and Mal lit up my kindle with their quiet attraction, mind-blowingly romantic, although in their heads forbidden, tried to fight every step, but were utterly powerless. The bread crumbs laid throughout this series to find out the circumstances surrounding the Becker Family tragedy has me bouncing in my seat to find out the truth, while meeting heart exploding, adorable characters that felt like family. Logan and Mal invaded my heart and I loved them so hard!! This series is an absolute must read!!

“She’d taken a part of me, and given me a part of her, and now —without the other —neither of us would be the same again.”
I am loving this series…full disclosure this book took me a little bit to get pulled into. I knew Kandi wouldn’t let me down so I stuck with it and am so glad I didn’t give up.
“I hated her. I wanted her. I needed her to leave. I longed for her to stay.”
So many emotions throughout this book. Heartache, disappointment, secrets, manipulation, honesty, self worth struggles, sacrifice, uncertainty, loyalty and love.
“My heart ached so violently inside my chest I thought it would revolt and tear itself out of my body just to escape the pain. He was everything to me. But how could he ever believe me if I told him that, after everything that had happened?”
DNF. Couldn’t get into this one.
This book is one of the reasons Kandi is one of my favorite authors. The depth she writes with her words is amazing. You feel all the emotions and happiness of each character and she always has you crying in each of her books. Logan and Mallory’s story is beautiful and my favorite so far of the brothers. Logan is just too much hotness. I really loved this book and I cannot wait Michael’s next.
Totally charmed by these Becker Brothers
Logan is lead tour guide for Scooter Wiskey keeping up the family tradition being a part of this legacy. He is up for a promotion, but when a wrench is thrown in his path by way of Mallory Scooter he can’t help but remember how he’s been watching her since they were kids. Mallory has finished college and to get what she wants most she has made a deal with her father, she knows what it means but how can she give up her dreams. So so good. Cannot wait for the next books in this series
I love the Becker boys! And the mystery with their fathers death is still eating at me!
But onto the romance part of this book.
Logan Becker has secretly had his eyes on Mallory Scooter, even though the Scooter family are known to be somewhat of enemies to the Becker family, he still can’t help to be drawn to her. So when she is forced by her father to work in the whiskey factory as a new tour guy, he is shocked at how childish she acts towards him after their first encounter. Luckily she bucks up and starts treating it more seriously. Which she must if she wants her father to keep his end of the bargain.
Logan knows he shouldn’t fall for Mallory Scooter, and Mallory knows her father would have a fit if she fell for a Becker boy.
But they can’t help their attraction, even when sly move by her father causes Logan to lose the one thing he worked so hard for. Mallory knows what her father did was wrong and she intends to help and protect Logan, even if her dreams get shattered in the process.
This contemporary romance gives off major Romeo and Juliet vibes and I just love it. Kandi Steiner is becoming one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait for more for the Becker Brothers.
Kandi’s books get me every time right in the feels. This is the second book in her new series and she’s two for two. Great characters searching for their HEA. Loved it.
Logan Beckett and Mallory Scooter never expected to catch feelings for each other. What happens when their families find out? Can they move past this feud, or is their relationship doomed from the start? Similar to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet story, but without the dying!! This book will have you cheering for these two to get it together despite their families. A great read!!
Bring on more!
What more can a girl want than a book about whiskey; that would be the Becker Brothers, and Neat by Kandi Steiner will give you plenty to drool over.
Mallory Scooter has never played by the rules, not when it comes to her family legacy. Arriving back in town, she finds herself falling into a hole she would rather stay out of – having to work at the distillery; It’s the price to pay for wanting to open her dream art gallery.
What could possibly go wrong?
Logan Becker is to be boss of the owners daughter, while he is head tour guide and next in line for a promotion, there’s a very big (and beautiful) distraction landed at his door.
Can Logan get over his hate for the Scooter’s enough to work with one more, or will Mallory get under his skin just enough to prove she can still play by her own rules?
Love, love, LOVED Neat!! The Becker boys, argh, I want more.
I love how each book so far is centred around each brother but in amongst their stories is a bigger plot at work. I’m full of anticipation, bring on book three!
This is highly recommended.
Kandi Steiner strikes again with Neat! I love this town and these compelling characters. You can’t go wrong with a book from this author!
I have to say I can never get enough of Kandi. Her books are so GOOD and this is no exception! If you liked On the Rocks you will LOVE Neat.
I fell so hard for Logan. He is a nerd, a neat freak, all about his family, a little of player and utterly amazing. Mallory is the complete opposite; artistic, messy, trying to distance herself from her family, and absolutely perfect for Logan.
Please do not miss this Romeo & Juliet -like love story.
I am loving this series about the Becker boys! Their legacy in Stratford started when their grandfather Richard Becker helped Robert Scooter found the Scooter Whiskey distillery. It was Richard Becker the one who fine tuned the process and made it the distinctive whiskey flavor that is so famous now. And yet, when Robert Scooter died, he didn’t leave Richard any participation in the company. Soon after Richard died, his son John Becker, stepped up to keep the Becker legacy alive in the company. The only concession to a partnership was giving John Becker a seat in the company board. So the new administration wanted to modernize the process and John Becker wanted to keep the traditional ways, as a tribute to the founders. And after a time of strife and discussion, John Becker died in the distillery, in a fire of suspicious origins. There was an investigation that pointed to the cause as a cigarette burning, but John Becker didn’t smoke. The mystery continues to this day, although the wife and sons of John Becker are convinced it was not an accident….
And with this background, we start this specific plot, where Logan works at Scooter Whiskey, same as his brothers Noah and Mickey, in an intent to keep the Becket legacy tied to Scooter Whiskey alive. Logan is the chief tour guide, and is expecting a promotion into manager of the tour division when Mac Scooter, brother of the CEO, retires.
Mallory Scooter arrives back in town after seven years away. She made a pact with her father to work in the company for five years and in exchange, he bought her a building where she can start an art store and school. This has been her dream while studying yet she feels like she’s signing her life away. When she meets Logan, who will be her boss and trainer, she acts like an immature and entitled princess, causing strife and mayhem for the first week. Once she realized she caused Logan problems that endangered his job, she shaped up and started behaving.
Logan has had a crush on Mallory since high school, but given their family history, knew it was an impossible love, so he never tried getting close. Now they are working together, and in spite of the situation, they start a friendship that later turns into more.
There are intrigues, Mallory has a secret in her past that makes her despise her father, everyone knows that Patrick Scooter is power-hungry and manipulative and he always has a hidden agenda for every move he makes. Mallory and Logan find information that might throw some light into John Becker’s death, and Mallory finds she was a puppet in her father’s machinations.
The pace of this book was slow but by no means boring. Logan was an interesting character, slightly OCD and nerdy, whereas Mallory started as a petulant princess and later revealed that she just didn’t like her family and didn’t want to live in Stratford near them. She kept away as long as she could until her father made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. Her nice interior self eventually surfaced and captured Logan. I loved Logan from the start, he started this book already perfect, but I initially disliked Mallory. I found that she evades difficult situations by either escaping or ignoring them. Eventually, I grew to like her. Another thing I loved is the family support that is strong in the Becker family. They are very close and spend time together, taking tuns dancing with their mother to maintain their father’s love for her. For them, family is first. For the Scooters, money is first. There’s a clash coming in future books and I can’t wait to read about it.
Neat is the 2nd book in the Becker Brothers Series. I fell in love with the Becker Family in On the Rocks and fell even hard after finishing Neat. Neat is the story of Logan Becker, and Mallory Scooter. If you read On the Rocks you’ll know that the Beckers and the Scooters are rival families in the small town of Stratford, Tennessee. So, right from the start we know a relationship between a Becker and a Scooter is an absolute no go! Kandi is famous for her angsty stories and she absolutety delivers that is this story. Logan is the lead tour guide at the local whiskey distillery owned by Mallory’s family and although Mallory is an Art Major she strikes a deal with her father and ends up working at the distillery with Logan. The connection between these two is instant. Loved how they interacted together and tried to fight their attraction intially until they give in and chemistry is off the charts! I just loved Mallory! She may be one of my favorite of Kandi’s heroines to date! I just loved her spitfire attitude. I loved her rebellious side and how passionate she is about art & photography! Her love of art just bleeds through the pages and captured me right from the beginning of the book. Logan was so swoon-worthy. Totally the quiet, silent nerdy type but still so full of passion, and heart you will fall for him instantly. I love the feel of a small town romance, and Kandi delivered this perfectly. Highly recommend. 5 stars! **I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
Logan, Logan, Logan!!! I want to marry him! This book was absolutely perfect in its on way. It had chemistry and fireworks non-stop. I want to be an honorary Becker. This family was by far one of my favorite families. I love the genuineness throughout. The entire story was about being loyal and finding your best self. Truly a brilliant book!!
5 STARS
“That kiss was an answer.
That kiss was a lie.
And distantly, I realized that kiss might be the biggest mistake of my life.”
Welcome back to the small town of Stratford, Tennessee. Missing the Becker brothers? Do not worry. They are back. And with the focus on Logan, this story is about to catch fire. If Noah has already caused a big deal in the city by getting involved with Ruby Grace, the closeness of a Becker with a Scooter will be the gossip of the century.
Logan works as a tour guide at Scooter Whiskey Distillery. With his focused, organized, controlled, and verging on OCD style, he’s perfect for this job. Even with the tension surrounding his family and the company’s founders, he longs for a promotion. But when he is assigned for a new task, not only will his work be threatened as his sanity as well. And maybe his heart. Training Mallory Scooter, his archenemy for family reasons, will not be an easy task.
Mallory is living her version of personal hell. And making a deal with the devil, aka her father, is just the icing on the cake. The black sheep in the family, she does not fit the standards imposed by her parents. With a degree in arts, her colorful hair, nose piercing, numerous tattoos and casual dress are a direct affront to a family that lives by appearance. But the life of a hungry and poor artist is not glamorous. And in exchange for her own business, she agrees to work in the family company, as much as she hates the weight of her last name and doesn’t want to be connected with this kind of business. Her rebellious attitude will clash with the polite and focused Logan.
But if Mallory is a complete disaster in her new role, challenging Logan’s orders and refusing to learn anything in her training, when various situations put them both in trouble, she promptly sets out to defend him. And so, a strange and forbidden friendship is born between them. Much to their despair, because they have so much to lose.
Logan’s predictable, bland life will be shaken by Mallory chaos. But instead of resenting it, he will embrace this change. After all, having around the girl who has always piqued his interest, however risky, represents a chance to be perhaps happy for the first time after a long time.
But they will find that this romance à la Romeo and Juliet will not be as easy as they imagined. 16th century Verona gives way to today’s Tennessee. The poison? It is exchanged for whiskey. The clothes? Have been upgraded. The rivalry between families? It has been multiplied to alarming levels.
Neat, like its predecessor, is a great read. The protagonists were the perfect couple in love. Two completely opposite people who respect, love and recognize each other, and just try to be happy. Mallory has integrity, fights for what she believes, and even being a little naive, in the face of a mistake, makes the right decision. Even if it costs what she wanted most. Logan is kind, polite, sweet and with a huge heart.
The story about the guys’ father’s death has not yet been explained, but with the appearance of his computer, more clues begin to fall into place. After reading, I got the feeling that the Becker family matriarch (who was extremely annoying and controlling in this book by the way) may be the big link in this big family fight. I wouldn’t rule out a crime of passion on Patrick’s part.
The next book will be focus on Mikey, and after her unexpected news, I’m curious to know how the family will respond to this news.

Oh these Becker Boys! Logan is my favorite so far. But I’m sure I’ll say that after every book! Nest was everything I hoped for! Angsty, emotional, sexy, and absolutely amazing! They always say opposites attract and it’s so true for Logan and Mallory. I love the book titles tying in with the distillery aspect of it. I can’t wait for the next Becker Boy story!!!
I am wholeheartedly in love with Logan Daniel Becker, and you will be too. This was such a great read, I couldn’t wait to finish yet didn’t want it to end! A small town broody boy & a sassy independent woman, add some heat, mystery, and it’s a holiday romance…need I say more?! Get your hand on this one ASAP. Plus you can read about his brother Noah in On the Rocks. I can’t wait to see what the next Becker brother has in store for us!
another witty and swoony look at the Bennet Brothers, this time with a star-crossed lovers twist!
Neat is the second stand-alone book in the Becker Brothers Series. I didn’t know how Kandi Steiner could possibly top Noah and Ruby’s story in On the Rocks but she did.
Neat is Logan Becker and Mallory Scooter’s story. I absolutely loved Logon I mean love, his OCD and being such a neat freak, I can totally relate too, and he has such a good and soft heart. Mallory is one sassy independent spitfire. Mallory has absolutely no family support and Logon has complete family support, they were raised so very different like night and day.
They were thrown together when Logan being lead tour guide at Scooter Distillery is informed that he will be training Mallory to be a guide in her own family’s business. She is out to annoy her Dad and ends up pushing every button that Logon has and ends up getting both of them in trouble. The sparks, chemistry, and banter between these two are on full display. The more they are together the more sparks fly until they just have to combust. This has a Romeo/Juliet forbidden love feel to it. But it was also a fun and sexy romance with a perfect hero and a sassy heroine. I loved every minute of it from start to finish!
I will be waiting patiently to reading more of the Becker brother’s books!
When I first met the Becker men, I fell straight in love. The men, the town, their mom, the whiskey distillery, and the intrigue that is swirling around their family and the Scooters. I couldn’t wait to learn more about the brothers, and I also wanted to dive right into the mystery that is haunting their family.
In this story, I met Logan who seems to be the most straight-laced of the family. He takes his tour guide positions very seriously at the distillery, and he hopes to be promoted when his manager retires. He wants to be a part of the distillery not only because he is proud, but he wants to continue his father’s legacy. Unfortunately for him, it seems that the Scooter family (who now runs the distillery) isn’t quite in the mood to see the Beckers succeed…
When Logan finally meets Mallory Scooter, he wants to believe the best in her. She is an artist & free spirit, so it seems that she is set apart from the rest of the Scooter vendetta that is held against Logan’s family. As life moves forward and plays are made, it seems that Mallory may not be all that she appears.
When I finished this story, I was just as enthralled with the Becker men as I was when I began. Now, though, there seem to be even more loose threads weaving together a larger mystery! I NEED to know what happened with Logan’s dad and the distillery. What happened with the fire? Is the Scooter family all bad? Is this whole vendetta born of jealousy and spite? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS, KANDI!
