My life is over.I swore I would never work at the whiskey distillery with my last name on it, that I would never be a part of my father’s legacy. But when I graduated with my art degree and realized there were no jobs, the devil appeared, and I sold my soul, agreeing to work in the family business if he’d give me the art studio I’d always dreamed of.It can’t be that bad, I thought. Until I … I thought.
Until I realized my new boss was Logan Becker.
The Becker brothers have a reputation for being trouble, and since I love trouble, it’s no surprise to me that I’m infatuated by that forbidden fruit the first day I walk into the distillery. That lean, whiskey-eyed, too-hot-for-his-own-good man hates me — and I can’t blame him. His family has been at war with mine for decades, and for good reason.
The Beckers and the Scooters are the Montagues and Capulets of Stratford, Tennessee.
But if he’s Romeo, and I’m Juliet? Well… we all know how that story ends — and for that reason, I tell myself to steer clear.
Because if my father finds out I’m falling for Logan Becker, my life actually will be over.
And Logan’s will be, too.

An enemies-to-lovers workplace romance from Kandi Steiner that’s based around whiskey???! SIGN ME UP!
Original and wonderful writing with a great ending!
After I read „On The Rocks“ I was so excited to read Logan‘s Story. I loved him from the start of the book. He is just the perfect guy. He‘s intelligent, neat and very very charming. He has a big sense for family and is great at what he does/loves.
With Mallory I didn‘t have that smooth of a start. I didn‘t thibk she deserved a guy like Logan bht she proved me wring and showed me her great sides and that she deserves him. She‘s really passionate about art and I like that about her.
I really enjoyed this book and the story of Logan and Mallory. I don‘t want to spoiler much but my heart really broke at the christmas party and I was crying. Kandi‘s writing is so good. I flew through the pages. I already knew about her writing from previous books but I think this one was so much better. I don‘t know why. But I loved the details about everyone for example how Mallory painted and everything.
This book deserves 5 Stars and i would recommend it to everyone.
Thank you Butterfly PR and Kandi Steiner for the ARC.
Neat by Kandi Steiner is a small town, country romance perfect to get you into all those cozy fall and holiday vibes you’re craving. Plus, it’s got a forbidden element — a “new age Romeo and Juliet!”
Does anyone write angst better than Kandi Steiner? After reading Neat, I’m going with not at all. This book had everything- some drama, a little mystery, some steam and a lot of feels.
Talk about opposites attract. Logan and Mallory couldn’t be more different if they tried. Where Logan was meticulous, planned and methodical, Mallory was wild, unruly and colorful. He had his brothers and a revolving door of women vying for his attention. But the one woman he couldn’t seem to get out of his thoughts was Mallory. She brought chaos to the life he had carefully constructed for himself and for as much as it frustrated him, it also made it that much harder for him to stop staring.
I loved seeing the serious Logan lighten up and be playful. And seeing Mallory in her element put a big smile on my face. Their chemistry was off the charts hot but they were walking a thin line. The fact that they were enemies just because of who their families were didn’t matter to them. Until it did…
While my jaw was on the floor, it wasn’t totally unexpected. Though I didn’t think things would go down like that, my heart still hurt for both Mallory and Logan. Everything they had built shattered in that moment and they both lost. Big time.
Full of family, steam and romance, Neat was a shot right to the heart. Kandi Steiner once again transported me into the drama that can only live in a small town. Logan and Mallory’s story was sharp and sexy and I can’t wait to get back to Stratford and see what is next for this town and the infamous Becker brothers.
This book sucked me in! I couldn’t get enough of the story and I wanted more. The Becker brothers are everything you dreamed of! And Mallory, she was just perfect for Logan.
Mallorys story got me furious and her father/family infuriated me!
Can’t wait to get the rest of the story behind the death of the Becker brothers father.
When I started to read this book I was thrown in a modern story of Romeo and Juliet.
Abby’s and Logan’s family were friends back in the day. But Abby’s fathers become greedy and after Logan’s family’s tragedy, everything changed.
Coming home from the study, Abby makes an agreement with her father and she feels that this agreement will end badly.
Logan works in a distillery and trying to keep his fathers legacy alive. But when the owner’s daughter steps into a distillery he has his suspicions.
But hanging out, working together and getting to know each other, they start to realize that not everything is what it seems.
But would this modern Romeo and Juliet survive this journey?
Love this book with a strong heroine and fighting hero.
Mallory and Logan don’t get off to a good start working together and drive each other crazy but the underlying sexual tension was insane. I loved their banter. Where Logan was all serious, sexy and determined, Mallory was just a beautiful mess. Two opposites from families that hated each other so they had to keep their love quiet but we all know secrets don’t stay hidden forever. I loved Mallory and Logan so much and to me they were perfect together! I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for more in the series.
If you love a small town romance that will make you laugh, cry and swoon then Neat is the perfect book to cuddle up with this fall. I love this modern day Romeo and Juliet with a whiskey chaser!
Love Kandi’s writing, and this small town romance is perfect to kick off the fall and upcoming holiday season!
Oh, my gosh.
I flippin’ LOVED this book! Finished it in one day as I could not put it down.
Logan and Marley are opposites in so many ways…she’s a mess and he’s neat and organized, she’s creative and artistic while he’s into history and facts, he’s not afraid to show emotion while she can’t remember that last time she cried. They are proof that opposites attract and once they do it’s like trying to separate magnets…almost impossible. There’s a problem here though because they are supposed to be enemies due to their last names. He’s a Becker and she’s a Scooter and the two families do not get along due to bad blood over business and the unexplained death of John Becker (Logan’s dad) in a fire at the distillery. I love the forbidden aspect of them being together, the Romeo and Juliet effect, and Kandi had me so wrapped up in their love story that I forgot all about Patrick Scooter and what a rat he is and was totally blind sided by his wickedness! That’s what I love so much about this story, I was whisked away into this world so thoroughly I didn’t have time to think about what was looming around the corner I was just in the moment with these two characters the whole time which made it such a great reading experience, a true immersion!
This series of standalones is quickly becoming my new favorite by this author! If you like small town romance with a strong sense of family and a tiny bit of an unsolved mystery thrown in then you NEED to read this book and On the Rocks because they are done perfectly for this sub-genre. Loved it and can’t wait for Mikey’s story!!!

The Becker Brothers series is everything a small town romance is known for.
In Neat we’re introduced to the charming Logan Becker and the unhappy rebel that is Mallory Scooter.
Logan and Mallory’s story was an opposites attract/modern day Romeo & Juliet twist.
Logan is a handsome guy who comes off as a modern day nerdy because he’s very organized, clean and loves to read – but because of the Becker last name he’s been mistaken as one of the bad boy’s in town – even though he’s one of the sweetest brother’s with a big heart.
Mallory Scooter is an unhappy, outspoken young woman who is tired of her father’s high expectations. When her father offers her the opportunity to work in the family Whiskey Distillery in return for the means to setup her very own Art Studio, Mallory is skeptical but shows up for work regardless of her father’s shady tactics.
I honestly found myself cheering her on – even if she was a little unprofessional.
Logan and Mallory’s first interactions are pretty rocky – (even with his secret crush) but the tension between the families only added more sizzle to their simmering – magical connection!
Kandi Steiner created another mesmerizing story that made me cry in the most wonderful way. Their chemistry was soo hot – probably Kandi’s hottest tales yet and I enjoyed every minute of this beautiful story.
I’m excited to see where this series leads us when the Becker Brothers return this Winter with Michael’s story: Manhattan!
4/5
This is the second book in the Becker Brothers series by Kandi Steiner.
I thought the first book was okay. Nothing crazy, I wasn’t really planning on to finish the rest of the series but they did sound pretty good. And I’m happy I did, Logan and Mallory are by far my favorite.
We follow Logan Becker who works at the Scooter whiskey distillery since he was 18 years old. Logan is a hard worker who want to be the best tour guides the company has. He is a very neat person
The families Becker and Scooter haven’t been getting along for a long time now. Both families play big part in the creating of the distillery. Even though the only name on the company is the Scooter’s one.
The Becker brothers also think that the family Scooter has something to do with the dead of their father. This is an ongoing mystery in all four books.
Mallory Scooter is the daughter of the owner. She has to work as a tour guide like Logan, Logan isn’t happy about this.
Mallory isn’t the good girl type, the only reasons why she agrees to work at the distillery for 5 years is so her dad will pay for her new studio where she can work on her art. Her goal is to be her own boss and let her creativity take the wheel.
Mallory and Logan have a very different upbringing, they don’t get along right away. But when they finally do it feels like Romeo and Juliet. Rival families who don’t want them to be together. They both hope to create a universe where they can be together.
I loved Logan and Mallory together. They were very different from one another but worked in every way that it mattered. They showed interest in each other’s passions and cared for each other deeply.
There were moments were the story was a little slow in my opinion but overall it was a very enjoyable read
Logan and Mallory grew up together but never talked to each other because there families hated each other. Logan has to train Mallory and they both are attracted to each other. Can they fight the attraction ? Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended.
Mallory Scooter swore she would never work at her family’s whiskey distillery. But when she’s struggling to find a job where she can use her art degree, she makes a deal with her father she couldn’t refuse. She has that bad girl attitude who loves to find trouble. Which makes sense she somehow found Logan Becker.
Logan Becker works as lead tour guide at Scooter Whiskey Distillery. He has had eyes for Mallory Scooter since high school, but when he starts training her and feelings between them grow, he knows things would get complicated with the rivalry between their families.
Mallory and Logan end up uncovering a piece of evidence that was never seen before in relation to the death of his father that might just give them more answers to what really happened nine years ago in the first and only fire at the distillery.
Even though their families have been at war for years, that didn’t stand in the way of the connection they shared and the love they had for each other. They balanced each other out – “She was the spontaneous to my well planned, the art to my logic, the unexpected welcome to my day-to-day routine…”.
I REALLY LOVED Logan and Mallory… There were so many things about them that reminded me of my boyfriend and I, which made it easy to relate to them (they’re still relatable even if those similarities weren’t there). This was a beautiful modern day Romeo and Juliet type forbidden romance love story. It was fun, sweet, sexy, and angst-y. There were so many emotions and gave me all the feels. These Becker boys sure have a freaking way with words, too, oh my. Once again, Kandi’s writing was amazing, and detailed so I could picture the scenes in my head.
P.S. This book talks about All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doer, and it made me really happy because I just finished reading that book in January, so it was nice understanding everything when the book was being talked about!! Haha
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Oh man Neat totally had me in romance bliss. Definitely loved Logan’s book as he falls for the rebel Scooter daughter Mallory. Logan should hate Mallory since her father is the enemy who the Becker’s suspect had something to do with their father’s death. There is no denying that Logan has always been fascinated with Mallory, the girl who doesn’t conform and walks to the beat of her own drum.
The attraction between Logan and Mallory will give you all the feels. While they are complete opposites they fit so well. So adorable, yet they had to keep their affair a secret from her parents. We even got to find out more about papa Becker which has me on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait to see how that mystery unfolds. Even better what’s in store for the rest of the Becker siblings.
Love this series by Kandi Steiner! Her writing is always solid with great characters and world building. I’m totally digging this Stratford, TN location and all the small town idiosyncrasies it has.
Logan and Mallory are from opposite worlds, but yet the same.
Opposite experiences, but yet so similar.
Logan does not want to like Mallory, but he does.
Mallory doesn’t want to be intrigued by Logan, yet she is.
So much angst, conflict and slow burn passion. I couldn’t get enough. I think you’ll agree.
This was my first read by this author and it wont be my last. I started this book before I realized it was the second in a series. However, they appear to be inter connected, but stand alone. Both main characters are well developed and they have good chemistry. However, the quick timeline didn’t feel realistic to me. There is an underlying mystery that I hope will be revealed in the next book. I look forward to the stories of the other brothers.
Logan and Mallory, where do I start? They are amazing! Such emotion packaged up beautiful into a Neat little story. Their chemistry is addictive and explosive, I couldn’t get enough of these two. In the midst of a generations old rivalry something beautiful blossomed. Just leave it to those Becker Boys to stir up some trouble.
Kandi Steiner knows how to write a wonderfully angsty story, something that pulls on the heart strings and still makes all the feels come on strong. Love this story, loved these characters and love Kandi Steiner!
