THE COWBOY AND THE CITY GIRL Sophie London hates Texas. The longhorns freak her out and the wide-open spaces are more unnerving than a Chicago alleyway at night. But Sophie wouldn’t miss her cousin’s wedding for the world-even if it means returning to Maverick Junction . . . and to the dangerously irresistible Ty Rawlins. A single father of rambunctious triplet boys, Ty knows trouble when he sees … when he sees it-and Sophie’s got it written all over her. Yet he’s never been able to stop thinking about her, even after their one brief meeting. Maybe fate is giving him a second chance. But if Ty wants Sophie to swap her stilettos for cowgirl boots, they’ll each have to face the past-together.

Nearest Thing to Heaven is a second chance romance. Its also a woman hiding away from her problems. What better place to hide than Maverick Junction (or what feels like middle of nowhere Texas).
Hiding is fine. Dealing with small town life is fine. Wedding prep is going fine. Fine doesn’t even begin to describe THE Ty. Ty is gorgeous. He is trouble. Trouble in molded worn denim…yeah, I like cowboys…well he’s a rancher but still. Yum. I’m not the only one who thinks so either. Sophie is having trouble not watching Ty. She’s having trouble not touching him. Worst of all, she can’t stop herself.
But it’s only temporary…this thing. She needs to go home? Wait, where’s home?
Small town life may not have been her dream, but can her dreams change?
When Sophie London sets out to Texas for her cousins wedding her plan is to attend the wedding, and get back home before she makes the same mistake her cousin did and get charmed by a handsome cowboy and decide to leave the big city behind for a much simpler type of life. She isn’t too worried about it happening to her because she is pretty emotionally unavailable right now… that is until she runs into Ty Rawlins. The minute she meets him again she is completely enamored with him, there is just something about the tall, charming and oh so handsome cowboy that draws her in. But when she learns that the single dad is dealing with a lot right now, she immediately moves him to the friend category…question is how long will he stay there?
Ty Rawlins doesn’t have time for love right now, between keeping his bustling ranch afloat, and wrangling his triplet sons he has little time for a social life… nor does he really have it in him to travel down that path again. Losing the love of his life is still taking a toll on him, and he isn’t so sure he’ll ever be open to searching for that again, but he didn’t plan for a woman like Sophie London to wander into his busy life. And the minute she does, he finds himself not wanting to let her leave, there is just something about the quirky city girl that does wicked things to his heart… a heart he had long since thought was damaged beyond repair. But he soon learns happily ever afters can happen more than once in a lifetime…
As soon as I read the synopsis for this one I knew I was about to embark on a very special literary journey, I mean what is not to love about a single dad finding his soul mate again! These two were quite the pair, it was evident from the very beginning that they were perfect for one another…even if Sophie had her doubts. Once Ty found a way into her heart I knew there was no way she would let him and his adorable sons get away, she had her reservations about stepping into a situation like Ty’s. but once she was there she realized she may have been wrong all along. But before they could truly get on to their happily ever after someone had to throw a few kinks into their plan… and it had me on the edge of my seat, and wondering if this one was going to pan out like I had anticipated! I have to say this read was quite a refreshing change of pace for me, and a great reunion with Ms. Austin’s books. Highly recommend this one, it’s sure to leave you with a happy heart!
