This was my first Penny Reid book, and it was delightful. I loved the characters, and totally related to the dorky main character and the (secretly) dorky hot guy. Such a delight to read a rom-com with smart, flawed, interesting female characters. This is the perfect little escape of a book, and I highly recommend it.
Janie tall, curvy and weird. In her worst day ever, she dumps her boyfriend because he cheated on her, she looses her job because his boss was his exboyfriend’s father but she speaks for the first time with the handsome security guy in her building after been fired. When she meets Quin, the security guy, in a bar the attraction is powerful. Can’t …

MY ROM-COM DROUGHT IS OVER: I just couldn’t find one that made me laugh, until this.
Oh I loved this. Janie is quirky, funny without meaning to be, she clever, brainy, nerdy talks one hundred miles and hour I loved her character.
Quinn is hot loves Janie for who she is, it’s a slow burn romance Janie doesn’t dive into …
I have read all of the knitts group books by Penny and have enjoyed all. Love the characters with all of their problems and the men who love the women.
Disclaimer: I read this book in 2014, but I still stand by my review! 🙂
Here’s how I would describe Neanderthal Seeks Human to a friend: Imagine Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series with a heavy emphasis on Ranger, and then mix that with something fun and chick-lit-ish like Sophie Kinsella’s Shopaholic series.
Characters: If Janie were …
This is one of my all-time favorites and what made me a Penny Reid fan for life!
It took me way too long to discover Penny Reid. NSH is completely happy-making. Quirky, swoony, angsty, funny, cozy, warm…just loaded with everything yummy.
This book took me by surprise as it truly stands out from the sea of romance novels. From the beginning, it grabbed and held my attention and emotional investment. I easily connected with the main characters and enjoyed every minute spent following their story. What makes it different, for me, is the well portrayed weirdness and nerdiness but …
Loved the story. Great writer!
Absolutely adore this universe of characters. This was my first foray into Penny Reid and I don’t regret a minute of it. I would do it again and again.
I love all Penny Reid books.
Really funny
Anything by Penny Reid is worth reading. Her characters are smart, witty and with real flaws and normal insecurities. I always learn new things when I read her books and I have read every single one of them!
I loved these books!!
I inadvertently read the second book in this series first and now I feel like I need to go back and reread it, along with the rest of the books! Penny Reid IS smart romance! Janie and Quinn are two of the best characters I’ve ever read. I fell in love with Janie’s intellect and awkward quirks. And Quinn’s wry, somewhat no-nonsense personality was …
Cute and funny!
I have never had a friend like Janie Morris, you know, that friend that delivers too much information? OK, now that I think about it I may have had a few, and it’s usually really personal stuff that you just shouldn’t be sharing. Janie also has that TMI disease, however when she starts talking it’s usually extraneous facts and figures. She does …
Very good book
Excelent visuals with a great, witty dialog. Her characters are so very believable
Oh my gosh, super cute book. I loved it
