Based on the title, I had low expectations of the book, but it was great. I loved having a smart, clueless main character. It was a lot of fun to read.
this is one of my favorite books, period. it’s hilarious and the main character has an unbelievable vocabulary.
This was a fun read. The Heroine was not perfect. Her life had some creative challenges. I felt a Stephanie Plum vibe.
4.5 stars, good but there stuff that bothers me.
Like the fact that the ending seems rushed, that Quinn’s creepy way of knowing everything is still unexplained up until the end of the book, I mean I know he’s rich but we didn’t really feel it until the end, and that Jem is such a bitch we never heard about her ending.
This book smoothly …
Light, easy fun read
Did not read beyond first page; looked cheap , dirty writing or novel
Enjoyed this series.
really enjoyed the “smart” characters and appreciated such diverse personalities in this book… a rare find!
Just a rollicking, fast moving, down to earth story. It was about real persons n moved right along. Can’t wait to read her next one! Jjb
want to read the entire series
I had this book for quite some time, but I kept telling myself, “I’ll get around to reading it.” Another book comes along and I moved this to the backburner. Joining Alison Bliss’s book club gave me a reason to read it and I’m so glad this was the first selection. I’m kicking myself for putting this on the backburner.
Janie is having a pretty …
One of my favorite authors and book series, I want everyone to love Janie and Quinn. I have read and reread this series several times and it never gets old. The following is my original review:
Why have I not heard of these books before? They are absolutely fabulous and I am in love with beautiful, quirky Janie and the gorgeous, sensitive Quinn. What amazing characters the author has created. I’m actually listening on Audio and can’t stop laughing out loud! Reading/listening to the second one now and it is just as good! Penny Reid is my new favorite author!
I can’t believe I never wrote a review for one of my favorite books! So here it is, after many re-reads in the past years.
Janie breaks up with her boyfriend and loses her job on the same day. Escorted to the exit by the gorgeous security officer she has been secretly ogling during lunch times, she moves in with her best friend Elizabeth. Soon after, when Elizabeth and Janie visit an exclusive night club, she meets the handsome security officer again and he rescues her from an unwanted situation. When Quinn discovers Janie’s mad math skills he asks her to apply for a job at the company where he works.
This book made it to my top-10-books ever and quite easily. I adore Quinn and Janie as a couple. Janie is …. different. She is very intelligent and sprouts facts when she is upset or uncomfortable.
The relationship she has with Quinn develops slowly and I love the way he is with her.
I will always read everything that is written about them, devour actually. There is a sequel (Neanderthal marries Human), a short (from ‘ Scenes from the City’ ) and they ofcourse appear in the other Knitting in the City books. I am waiting with baited breath for their baby story!!!
I am so happy I decided to start this new series! I loved he quirkiness of Janie and I cannot wait to properly meet all the other ladies and their partners!!
This book is my all-time favorite. The main character was so obtuse, yet genius at the same time. The vocabulary was amazing. While I did not love the culmination, I have read this multiple times
Loved this book, and love this author’s writing style.
A smart romance. I love this book!
I’d give this 10 stars if I could.
Another fantastic and witty Penny Reid novel! Highly recommend!
Quirky, cute, and unconventional.
