Books 1 and 1.5 in the Knitting in the City Series
NEANDERTHAL SEEKS HUMAN
There are three things you need to know about Janie Morris: 1) She is incapable of engaging in a conversation without volunteering TMTI (Too Much Trivial Information), especially when she is unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her more than Quinn Sullivan, and 3) She doesn’t know how to knit.
After losing her boyfriend, … doesn’t know how to knit.
After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can’t help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan — aka Sir McHotpants — witnesses it all, then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can’t afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn — the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies — to make her an offer she can’t refuse.
NEANDERTHAL MARRIES HUMAN
There are three things you should know about Quinn Sullivan: 1) He is madly in love with Janie Morris, 2) He’s not above playing dirty to get what (or who) he wants, and 3) He doesn’t know how to knit.
After just five months of dating Janie, Quinn — former Wendell and unapologetic autocrat — is ready to propose marriage. In fact, he’s more than ready. If it were up to Quinn, he would efficiently propose, marry, and beget Janie with child all in the same day — thereby avoiding the drama and angst that accompanies the four stages of pre-matrimony: engagement, meeting the parents, bachelor/bachelorette party, and overblown, superfluous wedding day traditions. But Janie, much to Quinn’s dismay, tosses a wrench in his efficacious endeavors and challenges him to prove his devotion by going through the matrimonial motions, no matter how minute and mundane.
Will Quinn last until the wedding day? Or will he yield to his tyrant impulses?
Regardless, one thing is for certain, Quinn Sullivan will have to learn to expect the Spanish Inquisition (i.e., the unexpected) if he plans to have and keep Janie Morris as his wife.

Penny Reid has written a wonderful duet of unforgettable characters. My introduction to Penny Reid was these two. I love them all, but as a fellow redhead of statuesque proportions, I particularly enjoyed this heroine and her granite-jawed hottie. The wittiest dialogue, period.
This was (believe it or not) the first book I’ve read by Penny Reid, and I can’t recommend it enough! Janie, the heroine, is tall and curvy and has a bad habit of reciting odd facts when she’s nervous-which is always. And I LOVED her. Quinn is the tall, blonde and silent type with lots of mystery around him, and he can’t keep his hands off her. …
Penny Reid really got me chuckling with the awkward heroine who refuses to own a cell phone. I just wanted more from Quinn, my kind of brooding, know-it-all hottie.
This author was new to me. Loved the characters, their eccentricities, their families. So many lol moments with some very intriguing characters and situations. Will put a smile.on your face.
Janie and Quinn is the book I never knew I needed. I could barely put it down. Janie is very different from the typical Heroine and that was the best surprise of all. Janie has a different family dynamic but she makes the most out of life, or at least on some aspects of it. Quinn started out doing not so good things, but once he meets Janie, he …
Loved loved loved this book. Very fun.
What Reid does so well is take two people with opposing emotional difficulties and find just the right way to put them together, so both characters get to stay true to themselves, and grow into better people.
I hadn’t bought the wedding book before because I’ve read other wedding stories that felt tacked on — fan service.
This was a legit story …
This came as a two book series. Some plot twists but somehow it didn’t really grab me. I haven’t read book 1.5 and not sure if I will.
I love Penny Reid books.
I wasn’t sure what to think with all of Janie’s trivial information that she would say at random times or maybe it’s not so random. Janie grew on me and some of the stuff she would tell to Quinn would amuse me. These two as a couple is just no words. They are perfect for each other.
Such great characters all of them different in their own ways. Love the style of writing too.
I liked them all!
I liked this book very much and was glad that the two books came as a set. I had read the first book a few years ago and I enjoyed it. The characters are funny and fun. I love Janie’s way of looking at the world and how her coping skills have make her a very unique person. I enjoy that Quinn is fascinated by her mind and can keep up. Their …
One of the best books I’ve read. Not your usual story and the characters are amazing specially the Janie, I love her
The excellent characters and twisty storyline have hooked me. I’ve read all of her books now. I normally get on the waiting list at the library because I’m thrifty but if I can’t get it as soon as I like I splurge on the kindle version.
Loves the characters and the quirky character with fascinating tidbits
This sweet, silly romance is the perfect escape.
Loved these books laughed a lot
Everything by Penny Reid is great but this set is the best! The characters are amazing and I want to spend more time with them!
I love all the knitting club books, and find that they’re all worth re-reading multiple times. Wonderful characters, entertaining conflicts, and of course, HEAs.
