Books 1 and 1.5 in the Knitting in the City Series
NEANDERTHAL SEEKS HUMAN
There are three things you need to know about Janie Morris: 1) She is incapable of engaging in a conversation without volunteering TMTI (Too Much Trivial Information), especially when she is unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her more than Quinn Sullivan, and 3) She doesn’t know how to knit.
After losing her boyfriend, … doesn’t know how to knit.
After losing her boyfriend, apartment, and job in the same day, Janie Morris can’t help wondering what new torment fate has in store. To her utter mortification, Quinn Sullivan — aka Sir McHotpants — witnesses it all, then keeps turning up like a pair of shoes you lust after but can’t afford. The last thing she expects is for Quinn — the focus of her slightly, albeit harmless, stalkerish tendencies — to make her an offer she can’t refuse.
NEANDERTHAL MARRIES HUMAN
There are three things you should know about Quinn Sullivan: 1) He is madly in love with Janie Morris, 2) He’s not above playing dirty to get what (or who) he wants, and 3) He doesn’t know how to knit.
After just five months of dating Janie, Quinn — former Wendell and unapologetic autocrat — is ready to propose marriage. In fact, he’s more than ready. If it were up to Quinn, he would efficiently propose, marry, and beget Janie with child all in the same day — thereby avoiding the drama and angst that accompanies the four stages of pre-matrimony: engagement, meeting the parents, bachelor/bachelorette party, and overblown, superfluous wedding day traditions. But Janie, much to Quinn’s dismay, tosses a wrench in his efficacious endeavors and challenges him to prove his devotion by going through the matrimonial motions, no matter how minute and mundane.
Will Quinn last until the wedding day? Or will he yield to his tyrant impulses?
Regardless, one thing is for certain, Quinn Sullivan will have to learn to expect the Spanish Inquisition (i.e., the unexpected) if he plans to have and keep Janie Morris as his wife.

Great read. Characters are funny and I found myself laughing out loud and routing for them! Highly recommended
This was my first Penny Reid book, so very good! I have read most of her books since, all awesome.
Penny Reid has become one of my favorite authors. I read everything of hers that I can get my hands on.
I stopped reading after the first book. I realize that the heroine is “mixed up” , but reading it is not pleasant.
The second is much better.
I love these stories. I had purchased these separately and read them awhile ago. When I saw the boxed set I got that and read them again. I just love Janie and her friends and Quinn is one of my favorite romantic characters.
This is a great series! One of my favorite!
Quinn and Janie, the answer to all that ails you. Well, possibly not, but they will certainly make a bad day brighter. Neanderthal Seeks Human is the beginning of the Knitting in the City Series, which are smart, funny, tug-at-the-heartstrings contemporary romances. The second book in the set is their Part II: Happily Ever After (until they pop …
I love Penny Reid’s books and this one especially. Great characters in great situations. I recommend anything that comes from Penny Reid!
I read this because I love Penny Reid and I wasn’t disappointed. Janie and Quinn make a hot couple, and as odd as they both are they make each other better and a terrific story. Penny Reid’s signature violence-with-bad-guys episode was edgy and just long enough to be effective but didn’t make me wish to avoid it. Love the romance and humor and …

Great start to this series
Haha funny but really engaging. Would be a wonderful beach read or a relaxing, long weekend. Great!
Laughter is essential to the human species and Penny Reid delivers it. But her books aren’t just a funny poke of a read. The characters and dialogue kept me turning pages (actually, punching pages, I read electronically) and enjoying every page I pushed over.Harriet Rogers
I cried, I laughed, I grinned, I thought, and I thoroughly enjoyed Janie and Quinn’s trip down the aisle. I’ve been hoarding Penny’s books but I’ve only recently started reading them, and I’m irritated that I waited so long. I’ll be remedying that real quick. I loved being inside Janie’s head and hearing all of the rambling bits and crazy …
Loved it!
I love this whole series.
Loved the writing style and humor
