I found this book very enjoyable. Peyton and Boone were such a great couple. The steamy chemistry between these two was great. Add in a little mystery in the form of wondering who is after Peyton and why and you have a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. Peyton by all appearances seems like a woman who just wants a fresh start after experiencing personal tragedy. She has no idea why someone would want to hurt her. Boone is a man who has returned to his hometown and is trying to forget and move past the betrayal he has suffered. The two seem to subconsciously recognize the same broken parts in one another. Boone wants nothing but to protect Peyton and find out what is going on. Peyton finds happiness in Boone she never expecting to in such a short time of meeting him. This is a very well written story that will keep you guessing who is after her and why. I loved the ending and the HEA. I can’t wait to find out what happens with Asher and Remy. The next story in the Dangerous Love series.
Exciting murder mystery disguised as a small-town romance!
After her husband’s death, Peyton pulls up stakes and relocates across the country to the small town they had last vacationed in. What starts out as a simple task of settling into a new town and a new life quickly turns into a run for her life!
Boone keeps his feelings locked up tight after his ex-wife’s betrayal, but he’s not above having a little fun with the new shop owner in town. Soon, though, this local police detective is drawn into figuring out the murder at her shop and the seemingly random accidents that nearly succeed in killing her.
Nothing is as it seems, and the twist at the end was truly surprising. This story is about so much more than the crime drama, though. There’s quite a lot of emotional depth as both Peyton and Boone are compelled to reveal all their buried secrets. The suspense was artfully paced alongside the romance, giving the reader a solid feel for the emotional roller coaster that the characters were experiencing. The triumphant HEA was terrific, and we get a nice peek into the conflict of the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This book was pretty darn good, sucked me in from the start. It had a good story line and great characters. The perfect amount of steam and a bit of mystery. Would have been a 5 star for me except for I was able to figure out who was behind the killing from the beginning. I was hoping for some twists and turns to prove me wrong but didn’t happen. Anyway, this story is about Peyton who after her husbands death moves to a small town to start her life over again. There she meets Boone. Sparks fly between the two but with previous heart ache experienced by both of them it’s hard to move on. Their journey was great and entertaining.
How does Stacey do it. Every story (to me) is a hit! This is another great new series. Peyton is leaving her past behind and moving to the last place she was happy. Her husband Adam has died and she needs to leave that life behind (and just wait till you read about his death…poor Peyton). Boone is a detective and had his life torn upside down by his ex. Neither are look for forever. Stacey draws you in right away with the “connection…. WHAT A FIRST KISS! I loved Boone’s sister Kinsley who becomes her new best friend in town. This story gives you drama, suspense, hot freaking chemistry and hotter sex and AWWWWW LOVE! It has a HEA and amazing characters who I hope are next in line in the series. Stacey really kept me on my toes because I had it all wrong in the who done it! GREAT GREAT WORK STACEY!!! You never ever disappoint me
Peyton goes to Maine after a tragic accident almost destroys her. She goes to the last place she was happy, Stoney Creek. She buys a house and opens a lingerie store. Boone is a detective and has been married before and doesn’t plan on doing it again. When he meets Peyton, they both just want a casual fling. When a body is found in her shop, Boone and his friends, who are cops too, can’t figure out why the young woman was killed. When Peyton is involved in a car accident, they believe it all has to do with her. Can they figure out who is after Peyton before something bad happens to her?
Awesome story that I couldn’t put down. Action, suspense, and sex. Two people who’s past has almost defeated them but find each other and a second chance at love. This is the first in this series and can’t wait to read what happens next.
