Even though I love to eat some good cherry pie, I hate Cherry Valley…Ever since I was dragged to this small town to open a tech start-up with my partner, I’ve been stuck in a land of cowpatties, yee-haws, and scuffed boots.Dammit, I miss the kind of do-me heels I’d get in the city. And I got a LOT of pumps, if you know what I mean.Luckily Penny Burnett just happens to be one of the only … happens to be one of the only heel-wearing hotties around here. And — bonus! She’s about to flee Cherry Valley for a new job.
That means we’ll never have to see each other again. Good thing, too, because my business partner is engaged to Penny’s sister and neither of them wants two dating disasters like Penny and me anywhere near each other.
But, one night, we find ourselves in a very compromising position.
Many of them, as a matter of fact.
But no sweat, right? She’ll be gone before we both know it.
Well, I’m sweating now, because Penny’s job fell through, and by some bad stroke of fortune, I’ve become one of her new bosses at the tech start-up.
It’s going to be hell keeping our one-night stand a secret.
And even bigger hell putting that one hot night out of our naughty minds…

Just one night can lead to way more than ever bargained for…………possibly!
Naughty Naughty Nerd is the solidly written second book in the continuing story and characters of Cherry Valley. This book focuses on Barry, who is the partner of Zach, and has been dragged kicking and screaming to Cherry Valley with the company headquarter relocation. He is definitely the typical start-up tech finance guy who thinks he knows everything and is way more arrogant than he ever has a right to be. But then again he did leave his cushy life back in the big city with all of its “distractions”.
Enter the non-typical small town girl in the form of Penny. She is a high heel wearing woman who is counting down the hours and minutes until Cherry Valley is a distant memory in her rear view mirror as she is heading to Chicago.
Barry sees Penny as a quick “distraction” as it will be one night with no fear of repeats as she has plans she is sticking to. However, things don’t go quite as planned and these two end up running into each other again. These two are extremely funny together as they banter back and forth and try to fight what could possible happen between them.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
The way the setting is described in this story makes it come to life. The characters are amazing, they know their flaws and strengths, they are also very faceted and sometimes vulnerable. I loved it.

3 1/2 Stars
Penny was done with her sweet small town of Cherry Valley and counting the days that she would be braving a new life in Chicago.
Instead she fell for her boss who happened to be an arrogant user of women.
Her heart broken yet again as her fears were reinforced that she attracted only losers.
This contemporary romance had its ups and downs but the highlights were focused on Barry and the way he finally started to grow up. It took a while, but they finally made their way back together for their HEA.

Barry is your typical arrogant, good looking tech finance geek with the prickly side always out as a defense mechanism. Penny is the country girl trying to break out and live in the big city, and do away with all the bad news guys she keeps falling for over and over. What turns out from a one time hook up could be so much more if these two people would stop fighting the attraction and let their true selves open up to each other. Very fun read and the talk going on in their heads constantly.

Simple and exciting
Very great romance, very well written, which although being a simple story, is exciting. I loved the characters of Penny and Barry, as well for their characters, their attraction, their limit, their verbal exchanges :). Their story can be really hot.
Barry can both have an unbearable behavior transcribed on his very nerd T-shirts, having no limit to his honesty even if he hurts the others, as he can be touching when he lowers his walls ; and Penny, who knows that she wants to change her life, who does not want to be with another looser, who has her outspokenness, but who always stays herself without hiding who she is.
Penny wants to leave her small town, has sold her business and is ready to leave for Chicago when her sister arranges a party for her. Sister’s fiancé, Zach has a very nerdy partner, a handsome man who is a player, and he’s is invited. He only has a big disdain for this little town that does not have much to offer, compared to New York he comes from. However, after warning Penny about her future job in Chicago, after having angered her, drank, they find themselves at her home and spend a night rather hot, inconsequential because Penny leaves and she allows herself just one last night for a relationship with no future.
But the next day everything changes, and Penny finds herself stuck again and has an offer to work in the technology company of Zach and Barry. By mutual agreement, they decide not to say anything to anyone and to avoid each other, never to reiterate this experience that is certainly fantastic, but definitely without a future for someone against commitment and someone who wants a real relationship.
