He definitely wasn’t supposed to get that email… Subject: My Boss. Have I already told you that I hate my boss today? Sexy as hell or not, this pompous, arrogant, ASSHOLE asked me to pick up his dry cleaning the second I walked through the door. Then he told me that I needed to take his Jaguar to a car wash that was ten miles outside of the city, but only after I needed to stand in a never-ending … city, but only after I needed to stand in a never-ending line to buy some type of limited, hundred-dollar watch.
I honestly can’t wait to see the look on his face two months from now when I tell him that I’m quitting his company and that he can kiss my ass. KISS. MY. ASS.
All those former fantasies about him kissing me with his “mouth of perfection” or bending me over my desk and filling me with his cock are long over. OVER.
Your bestie,
Mya
PS–Please tell me your day is going better than mine…
Subject: Re: My Boss.
No, you haven’t already told me that you hate your boss today, but seeing as though you’ve sent me this email directly, I know now…
Yes, I did ask you to pick up my dry cleaning the second you arrived to work to day. (Where is it?) And I did tell you to take my Jaguar to the car wash and pick up my thousand-dollar watch. (Thank you for taking five hours to do something that could be accomplished in two.)
You don’t have to wait two months from now to see the look on my face when you tell me you’re quitting. I’m standing outside your office at this very moment. ( Open the door. )
No comment on your “fantasies,” although I highly doubt they’re “long over.”
Your boss,
Michael
PS—Yes. My day is definitely going far better than yours…

Naughty Boss is the first novella in the trilogy series Steamy Coffee Collection. It’s a stand alone that don’t have to be read in order, has no cliff hangers, some drama and angst, dual POVs and a HEA. This book has an office-romance and enemies to lovers theme that contain some typos but that can be overlooked with the outstanding wit of the H/h. The dialogue is very entertaining which makes the book quickly read but also keeps your attention glued to the toe curling chemistry happening between the main characters. Once the Wham-bam has been accomplished I felt the ending and continuation of the characters was rushed but still a funny, entertaining book all in all.
Michael Leighton is CEO of a publishing company and has a problem keeping Executive Assistants longer than 2 months due to his demanding, Asshole ways. He’s also with a different woman every night and this is caught on camera and published in the gossip pages. His business partner has ordered him to keep “it” in his pants for at least a year so the business can excel and has hired a new EA.
Mya London is the EA for Michael and hates him but thinks he is sexy as hell at the same time. She has been sending emails to her bestie about him and then she accidentally sends one detailed rant directly to him.
Tempers flare as they try to out do each other until they actually “do” each other in the office. Is this a one time thing or can she overcome her dislike of his assholiness?!?!
DEVOURED. YUM. (BURP).
Whitney G. is really an amazing writer, taking even the most popular themes and giving them her own not-put-downable twist. You’ll love this.
I read this series back in 2017 and saw that it came out in audible so I had to listen to them because the books where fantastic laugh out loud smoking hot goodness and the audible versions made me thank god I was listening via bluetooth at work and hoping no one notices the crazy lady laughing out loud and smiling like a chesire cat.
Love love love this book it was hot
1. I don’t recall Mya, the heroine, actually having scenes outside her interactions with the Hero, Michael. Her interactions with her friend are all in email format. I don’t care for that.
2. There was no evidence on why she was such a great assistant to have lasted a year. Honestly she didn’t seem that great to me.
3. The ending was rather abrupt. I didn’t think it was ending, but then it did. It just really seemed like something was missing from the story.
I throughly enjoyed this book! It was hilarious, hot, sexy, and has a HEA! This is my first time reading a Whitney book, but I’m honestly looking forward to the next.
My only complaint is the length. That’s not entirely true. I knew it was short when I purchased it. And when I started it. I wanted something quick. But I wasn’t ready to be done with these characters yet. I especially would have liked more of that last year. If the book were ever expanded, I’d definitely buy it. But even if it stays just as is, it’ll go on my ‘To Re-read’ shelf.
This was so much fun. I freaking loved it! Ahmahgah, Michael is pretty much a dick to Mya throughout the whole book. And one thing I love, is a well written ahole! He pretty much made this whole book for me. Yup, sure did. I loved when Mya started to push back, it made for some great sexual tension. The only thing I’m sad about is that it’s a novella, I want more! I would totally read a whole book on those two. They were great together!
Michael is the Naughty Boss. Mya is the dedicated executive assistant. Would you believe that he goes a whole year without so much as touching her? But does treat her like crap for a while to get her to quit because he cant have some one that hot working for him. She sticks it out anyway and he eventually realizes how much he depends on her. Its really funny when she sends an email to her BFF complaining about her boss…. but it goes to him instead! Great quick read!
Naughty boss and dirty girl…
He may be naughty but her filthy mind is just as impressive. Though typos in the novella made me cringe, the story was fun, sexy, and left me smirking.
The emails were awesome and made this story. #235…Oops #335 It seems Mya has a lot to say!
This was a funny quick read. Nothing too deep though, but very entertaining. Kept my train ride pretty short.
OVER RATED
Just an ok read, even for a free novella.
Whitney G tried but I didn’t feel the chemistry between the two. It was basically a bunch of emails between Maya, her bestie Amy and occasionally Maya and her boss. And a couple of very dull sex scenes.
I’m telling you, my head must be up my butt most of the time because not only did I not know about this book until a couple of days ago but I wasn’t familiar with this author. How does that even happen?!?
Novellas are not my thing. I’ve been burned quite a few times with them because it never feels like the story is complete – things aren’t fully fleshed out and I’m left irritated that I wasted time on a partial novel. Lately, I’ve been lucky enough to find quite a few novellas that are AWESOME. This one definitely deserves to be at the top of the pile.
Since it is such a short book, I’m going to be very brief with my review because I don’t want to give anything away. First, I hope that you’ve read the blurb already and if you have, then you probably won’t be reading any reviews to check the book out because you’ll realize without having to read my thoughts that this book is going to be badass. You would be correct. It is. Very much so.
This novella is partially written as emails. I didn’t know how I would feel about that at first but I ended up falling in love with the whole darn thing. What an interesting concept! I think it gives you a peek into who a character actually is because things are said to besties that aren’t said to anyone else – sometimes even ourselves. And then the response that Michael gave Mya. I wanted to die of embarrassment for her. Can you imagine?!?
These two had such amazing chemistry and you couldn’t help but admire Mya and all of her snarkiness and when you get her d-bag boss, Michael, thrown into the mix … it’s just great. You’ll read reviews where it bashes Michael’s character because he’s a man-whore. Yes, the dude sleeps around. That’s probably too nice of a phrase for him … he had a different chick lined up every day. Like scheduled and shit. First of all, I find that admirable. Can you imagine trying to juggle that many women, let alone scheduling stuff? My husband can’t even keep up with ME … so I can’t imagine that poor bastard and the balancing act he’d have to pull out of somewhere. Michael’s … extra curricular activities … come off as almost comical and no reason to get all virginal Mary on the book. It’s fine. It’s a book. You won’t burst into flames, people.
The story itself is super fast paced – which is my favorite – and when you’re done, you’ll wish that there were more pages but not because things weren’t buttoned up nicely – you just want more of Michael and Mya. I don’t blame you. I’m in the same boat. Steamy book and an amazing author … I’m a massive fan!!
