Natural Enemies – Roan Parrish – I’m out of Kindle Unlimited Roan Parrish books! I’m also out of time on Kindle Unlimited probably until next Christmas when I get myself a discounted subscription. I was expecting a book about botanists to be less interesting, but I loved this one too. Should have had more faith in Roan Parrish clearly! Super sweet! Happy Reading!
Buttoned-up botanist Stefan Albemarle has always felt like an outsider. He keeps to himself and lives for his career. Urban gardener Milo Rios is passionate about his job at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. He spends his life beautifying the world around him with plants and teaching teens how to do the same. These two are total opposites but they can’t get enough of each other.
“Somehow, all the things that made us so different also captivated me. Like within him lived a whole other world I had never given much thought to. And all I felt was content here, like this, with him.”
This was a cute MM romance. Milo was sweet, charming, and controlling when he needed to be. When he discovered he could make plants grow as a teen it completely changed his life. Now he lives to help his community and others find joy in growing things. Stephan is a structured, controlled, and standoffish man. His life has taught him that he is different from others and people don’t like him. In reality he is just a lonely, sweet man who needed someone to break down his barriers. I loved these two. The chemistry was off the charts between them and the feelings soon followed.
“The power of a strong relationship is that it can take on more than either person could on their own, right?”
This was my first Roan Parrish book but it will not be my last. I really enjoyed this quick romance. I do wish it was longer though because I wasn’t ready to let this sweet couple go.
A natural read!
When opposites attract, love blooms in unexpected places…
I loved their first meeting, enemies turned lovers…eek! That was enchanting to watch. I loved how they grew and came together and figured out their future. It was a lovely short read.
Hoping the author writes a bonus epilogue to give us a clue about their future. Would love to read it.
Full of enemies, opposites, hate, attraction, lust and love.
Perfect for readers of contemporary romances.
Best Novella I know! Beautiful cover!
Natural Enemies is not the first book I’ve read from this authors. I really enjoyed her previous books so I figured I’d give this one a try. Unfortunately, this one did not work for me. I thought the flow of the story was too slow and I really didn’t care for either of the main characters. However, just because I didn’t enjoy this story doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t give her other books a try.
* I was gifted this book from A Novel Take PR and freely give my review *
This was a sweet and very enjoyable experience:
* Milo and Stefan is a mismatch but in a strange way they fit together, I loved stuck up Stefan who in reality was feeling less than worthy. Milo’s down to earth way is grounding Stefan in so many ways but in the end they both learn from each other.
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and dialogues that are sweet, rough, honest, fumbling and just the right amount of them.
* Sweet and oh so hot love scenes
* The storyline is good and the characters is so well written that even if this is a short story I felt like I’ve known them forever. That, is to me a good reason for loving a book
* MM romance can sometimes be all macho and rough and no romance, but I feel like the author did a great job at balancing this.
* I highly recommend this short but oh so good story.
