I absolutely LOVED this book! Jake and Avery had me snort laughing from Milwaukee to LA! Grab some tissues there’s a few tear moments, but otherwise this is a Romantic Road trip comedy like no other!
You can’t go wrong with a Jewel E. Ann book. I have read 15 of hers and loved everyone of those.
Avery’s story! This Fun road trip with Jake was just the beginning! Sydney’s little sister finds her way!
Loved how Avery evolved and became a stronger woman in the end!
Three words!
Love this story!
I was worried about this book because I did not enjoy Undeniably You, which told the story of the protagonist’s sister, but I adored Naked Love. Another win.
I love the quirkiness of Avery she really is quite a character. I adored all her witty one liners. This is a good read however I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and drop it did. The hits came fast. What Jake did was unforgivable and I was glad how that played out. Rom com, enemies to lover, tearjerker.
I loooved this book! It’s so funny, sexy, and emotional. Naked Love had me laughing out loud one minute, and tears streaming down my face the next. I love everything Jewel writes. She really knows how to make the reader feel all of the feels. And speaking of feels, my heart was bursting being reunited with Lautner and Sydney! Gah! So much love for all things Jewel E. Ann. I definitely recommend this great read!
SO. EFFING. GOOD.
I loved everything about this.
Fun yet emotional, sexy yet sweet.
Snort-giggles galore.
Intense feels throughout had me glued to the pages.
Laughs and pranks and tears heartbreak and lust and love and personal growth and insecurities and inner demons…every word written with expertise and emotion.
Jake & Avery’s journey from Illinois to LA was sometimes adorable, a lot of times hilarious, sometimes cringe-worthy, and a lot of times smokin’ hot.
Jake Matthews isn’t only an inked up business owner who eats healthy and used to kick ass for a living. He‘s a genuinely kind human being. Who wears fun t-shirts. And says some really sweet things.
And I should mention he’s hot. Jake can be my monkey-spanking dick cheese ANY. DAY.
The Avery at the end of the book was nowhere near the same Avery from the beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed watching her change, and grow, and finally stand up for herself.
This story put a big smile on my face.
…except during that one part.
We’ll talk about that later, Miss Jewel.
Whenever I start a book by this incredibly talented author, I know I am in for an absolute treat. Naked Love is a delicious, funny, heart wrenching and completely satisfying read. You know that feeling you get when you read those last few words and you find yourself thinking, how soon can I read this again? Well Naked Love provides that in spades. Loved every single word!
The character building is so strong, particularly in the case of Avery who I just love so much! Jake is fabulous, but it is in Avery that my heart found so much investment. Jewel E Ann succeeds in taking us through the complete butterfly life cycle to bring us the layers that make her who she is, while, equally, allowing us to get to know Jake. As always, I laughed out loud, shed some tears and finished with a delighted smile. Thank you!
I started reading this in her newsletter. I’m glad I stopped and waited to read all of it together. Avery and Jake had a very rocky journey in the beginning. It was definitely fun to watch them trying to get along in the beginning and grow to love each other.
still laughing. “Are you five Avery?”
Naked Love is a complete standalone but the main characters were introduced to us in previous Jewel’s books. Our leading lady Avery Montgomery is Sydney’s sister from Undeniably You. The cutie dog Swarley was also part of that adventure. We first met Jake Matthews in Holding You Duet. I was super excited to start reading this story on Jewel’s newsletter and that she brought this two characters together.
This was the perfect example of an opposites attract couple. I mean we are talking about a super girly, city girl DIVA, a HUNK tattooed ex MMA fighter vegan chef and a cute and naughty dog. Naked Love brought road trip and camping to a whole new level.
“’ . ’ ?”
Avery and Jake’s banter and shenanigans were the perfect antidote to a bad day. I mean I was laughing to the point of tears with this two.
This story was also as emotional as it was hilarious. It’s not surprised to me how much I love this book. Jewel’s impeccable writing is my Kryptonite.
“ . . . ’ … ’ , , .”
If you are in need of a book that would get you out or either a book funk or life funk NAKED LOVE is the perfect choice.
Love this author and this is my most favorite of her books yet…seeing the change in Avery and the relationship grow between her and Jack was wonderful…a must read!
Loved the story of Jake and Avery so much!!! Jewel worked her usual magic. I laughed, I cried, I didnt want it to end. Jewel does what she always does, and left me with yet another book hangover!! Ahhhhh!!!
Jake and Avery’s story is one I’m not sure how to explain…enemies to lovers? strangers, that dislike each other and then turn to lovers? frenemies?
All I know is that they definitely didn’t start on the right foot, but once they start to know each other, sparks fly and the sexual tension between them becomes impossible to deny.
Both characters have hilarious moments so if you’re looking for a steamy rom-com, give this one a go.
4 1/2 stars. Avery is a real piece of work. Some might be put off by her attitude. KEEP GOING! There is a reason for all of it and discovering what makes Avery tick was a crazy ride. For the reader and Jake! Their cross country trek was full of bickering, laughter, tears, and love. Naked Love was a lesson in looking below the surface to the real person and loving all of them, warts and all. And I adored every minute especially the wonderful epilogue.
This ARC came as a wonderful surprise in my inbox. This is only my second Jewel E. Ann ARC.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure I was even going to like the whole hitchhiking thing with a stranger… well technically they didn’t really personally know each other but they’re not total strangers either… so, yes. I was a wee bit skeptical… and as I turned page after page, I was hooked… I couldn’t help but be curious what happens to Jake and Avery traveling from Milwaukee to Los Angeles, with a dog named Swarley tagging along… and to top it off, they will be camping as they go along… A prissy princess and an ex-MMA fighter together? It definitely spells disaster.
I must admit, it took a while for me to warm-up to Avery… I thought she was shallow, materialistic and just basically an airhead, plus, she was a pastor’s daughter which was ironic … but she’s also what made me love the whole story… she was determined to change and stand up for herself… she was determined to become a better person… sure, the process wasn’t easy and she was very exasperating most times, but you can’t help but root for her too… And Jake… well he is a no-nonsense kind of guy…very blunt, bordering on being an a$$höle— but is also such a softy underneath all the broodiness.
There are parts that’ll pull on your heartstrings but there are also the parts that’ll make you laugh out loud…
I love it and definitely recommend!
4 Happy, Healthy, Helpful Stars!
When picking up a Jewel E. Ann book to read, you are guaranteed a ride. Naked Love was no exception. We literally got a ride from Milwaukee to Los Angeles.
Avery has fallen on bad chocolate times. After finding out that her boyfriend of a couple years lied when he said he didn’t like chocolate…that did Avery in. Packing her car and Swarley the dog she is watching, she heads to her dad’s house.
Jake is the owner of Sage Leaf Café. Sexy, tattooed and a body to woo women. When the gal wearing designer clothes and designer shoes, walks into his café to order he knows it is going to be an interesting day!
Traveling back to L.A. it’s a journey that will not be forgotten by Jake or Avery. The banter between these two, the prima donna and vegan, nature lover is some of the funniest times!
If you enjoy a good rom-com, pick this one up! You are guaranteed to laugh out loud while reading this one.

This is Naked Love written by Jewel E Ann. You do not want to miss this one! It is going to wrench so many different emotions from you. I was laughing from the beginning. Btw, if a man tells you he doesn’t like chocolate?? Never ever trust him! Lol! You will grow to love Avery, and Jake..? Well Jake is hot from the very first time we meet him! Have you ever met someone and had a strong first impression? Never judge a book by its cover or a lady by her designer duds or itchy scalp. Fall in love with Avery and Jake and try not to smile. I dare you!
I love me some Jewel E. Ann. I’ve been reading her since her debut. She has a way for the witty. I knew about Avery from Undeniably You and Jake from the Holding Series. Talk about opposites attract and a whole lot of ridiculous.
Avery, poor girl, she’s a character with many layers, but she’s so much more than the pampered Princess Jake assumes that she is.
Jake well, he has his issues too.
He agrees to take Avery and Smarly (the dog she’s taking care of) across from Milwaukee to California but she is to agree not to complain since it’s during his yearly camping trip.
Oh man the antics these two were pulling on each other, hysterical.
Then it got really serious towards the last 30%. I got pretty angsty. Not that I didn’t enjoy the angst, but for me, it took a turn to crazy town. Like I said, I love this author and will always read her because he words are beautiful.
Another beautiful, heartbreaking and wonderful masterpiece written by one of my favorite authors.
What’s not to love about this one, a hot vegan chef who wears smart ass shirts, a high maintenance beauty who’s last straw was chocolate mousse , and a perfect pet to make it more fun.
I love books with the heartache, the hilarious banter, a road-trip and a HEA. What more could you want!
