Favorite Quotes:
I admit it—if only to myself—I, Avery Montgomery, am a wuss. I’ve canceled clients because of an irritated hangnail. Menstrual cramps leave me bedridden for twenty-four hours. And I’m one of those patients who require nitrous oxide just to get my teeth cleaned. It’s genetic. There has to be a low pain tolerance gene.
Yeah, all men are lying, cheating, monkey-spanking dick cheese.
My life is a game of limbo—how low can I go?
The list of reasons why he deserves to come close to dying is so long, I can’t even see the end of it with binoculars, but …when I’m not hating Jake, I kinda like him.
Jake Matthews just knocked on the window to my soul and whispered, “I see you.” Not the million imperfections I see in the mirror.
Sometimes no words are the best words.
I’m going to Hell. But that’s not a newsflash.
My Review:
Jewel E. Ann is a wily trickster. I was gleefully tripping through what I thought was a delightfully steamy, cleverly written, and wryly insightful romantic comedy that had me smirking and snorting with mirth, and then boom, she broke my heart. And just like that, I was stunned. Then I was thunderstruck with an epiphany. I realized this cagey author had deftly layered poignant details into her narrative with ninja-like stealth, all the while her artfully penned storylines had been ironically amusing while my heart was being squeezed with all the feels. All of them.
Jewel E. Ann has cunningly crafted a tale around the main character of Avery, who was comically entertaining but not at all admirable or initially likable. Had I been trapped on a cross-country road trip with the shallow, vain, self-possessed, and quirkily high-maintenance diva Avery, I would most likely have smacked her a few times before reaching our destination, all right, probably more than a few… Yet this talented wordsmith had me feeling torn up over her distress – the only explanation I can come up with is word voodoo… And lucky for us, Jewel E. Ann obviously has a strong dose of it. I have added her entire backlist to my TBR as I covet all her clever words.
IF YOU HAVEN’T READ NAKED LOVE BY JEWEL E. ANN….STOP WHAT YOUR DOING AND GO ONE CLICK NOW… (yes I am SHOUTING cuz I fell in love with this book AND I feel you will too!!)
I am telling you that in the first chapter, I already knew I was in love…LOVE I am telling you!!! lol
I laughed sooo freaking much in this book. There is sooo much sexual tension, hilarious one liners and OMG y’all, the banter is off the charts fan-damn-tastic!!!

Jewel E. Ann has become one of my favorite writers her stories are full of complex emotions and this story did not let me down. Opposites attract must be true because Jake and Avery are about as opposite as they come. They embark on a road trip from Milwaukee to California with a large dog in tow. Jake and Avery only met prior to the trip, he is giving Avery a ride back to California along as a favor to a friend. Jake likes to take his time tent camping along the way. To say Avery in not really the camping type is putting it mildly. She is very much the diva with her designer cloths, shoes and handbags. Her life has pretty much hit the bottom after she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her. Jake makes it his mission on the trip to strip Avery down to her true self and find her inner beauty through her designer exterior. Jake and Avery are characters from two different earlier books written by the author. Its is not necessary to read the books but is was fun to know the back story of the characters.
Naked Love pulled out all the emotions! Jake and Avery couldn’t have been more opposite. There were parts that had me cracking up at their banter. And parts that just had me in tears to see a woman so broken and unsure of herself. Their journey definitely took their strengths and weaknesses to an all time high. Such an incredible read !
I was cracking up by pg 2 Such a fun read With NO SARCASM at all *wink* LOL
Jake and Avery Oh My goodness… I wish I was hanging out with them.
Of course this book was a joy because this author is fabulous. And while it had many funny hilarious parts it also made my heart twitch from time to time and I fell in love.
Avery’s life is falling apart around her so a road trip from LA to IL to visit her Dad is just what she needs. After her vehicle dies Avery and her sister’s dog end up on a cross country road trip with a stranger. Jake usually takes a few weeks in the summer to drive from his cafe in Milwaukee to check on his store in LA. His peaceful drive is about to change as he travels with Avery the diva.
I loved this book. It had me laughing out loud through out a lot of the book. But there are some places that will make you teary eyed too. Jewel knows how to cover all the emotions. I love the author’s style she pulls you in right from the start. Grab Naked Love and get to reading.
Rated 4.5 Stars
Naked Love appears on the surface to be a RomCom but as with all things Jewel E. Ann there’s a lot more to it. It was emotional, angsty and thought provoking. I thoroughly enjoyed Jake and Ave’s journey. I definitely recommend to those who love rom-coms with something extra.

I went on an adventure with Jewel. E. Ann in her newsletter once a month from May of last year until March 2018. I absolutely loved this journey from start to finish.
When we first met Avery Montgomery she was a mess and a bit lost. She may have thought she had it all figured out, but when it all falls apart, she finds herself at her Dads, with a dog, a new stepmom and no way to get home. Enter Jake Matthews.
When Jake first meets Avery he sees all the bad and makes a lot of assumptions about her. Yet when a dear friend asks him to take her on his road trip to get her home to California, he has no choice. Though the road trip did not start well, the more time they spent together, the more they got to know the real person they were. Soon feelings begin to emerge, but can Jake see beyond Avery’s facade and truly accept her?
I absolutely loved Naked Love by Jewel E. Ann. It was an emotional journey and one I loved following every month. Seeing Avery discover herself captivated me and watching Jake fall in spite of himself made my heart swoon! Loved it and highly recommend it!
Happy reading!
What can I say about Jake and Avery? I want to go on and on about this couple but I don’t want to give away any of the book. The best thing about a Jewel E Ann book is the twists and turns she throws at her readers and to take that away from a fellow reader? A travesty!!
So this is what I’ll say – Jake and Avery are like every other couple Jewel gives us – amazing, real, spectacular, hot (!!!), messed up, fantastic, dreamy………….etc. Pick up your copy and get to reading!
Naked Love is full of self-discovery and vulnerability
Avery is lost, she isn’t sure about her life and where it was going to go. Then Jake jumps in the picture. A road trip that became an emotional roller coaster ride. They did everything they could to not have a connection. But it’s a bit difficult, to push something like what they have, to the side.
Avery’s emotions were all over the place. I felt all those emotions, and surprisingly I related to her in many ways. I had that feeling in my chest that one I get when a connection is felt, with characters in a book. Pretty amazing when characters can affect you the way they do. This is one of my top favorites of Jewels, and It has everything you would want in a love story. There’s the push and pull. The giving in, the uncertainty of where your life will lead.
There’s a lot of bumps in this story. I feel that Avery met Jake for a reason. They were supposed to go on this road trip that stripped their vulnerability to its core. I’ve been a fan of Jewel’s for awhile. I loved these characters and the story they brought out. This was a story that was part of a newsletter, which I didn’t read because I wanted to wait for the whole story to come out. I think if I did, that emotional connection wouldn’t have been there. It’s a beautiful story that I had the pleasure of reading. It’s been a while since I’ve felt this kind of connection in a story. It brought me to tears.
Overall, Five Boundless Stars.
4.5 Stars
What I admire about Jewel E. Ann and her storytelling is no matter how different certain characters are from who I am as a person, I can always in some way relate and understand where they’re coming from. Avery is so different from who I am but I had so much fun in her and Jake’s company.
She doesn’t hide or shy away from who she is and what she enjoys in life. In this case materialistic things and her appearance.
The evolution or journey Avery goes through thanks to Jake was beautiful and hilarious storytelling. I laughed my ass off numerous times. Jake and Avery are opposites and their chemistry feeds off of it in spades. I was just waiting for the sparks to explode. Jake is such a good guy with secrets of his own and he truly sees the true and real Avery. She needed to see and accept that person too as difficult as it was.
Avery’s sister Sydney and her man Lautner, YAY, was there and my Undeniably You heart was ecstatic. Just being in the company of the Montgomery Family was fantastic.
Naked Love is a fabulous, humorous and heartwarming romantic comedy with such a honest message. Another gem from Jewel E. Ann
4.5 I See You Stars
I’m just going to start by saying/warning that this isn’t your typical Jewel E Ann book, if that’s what you’re looking/hoping for. Naked Love is a much lighter and funnier story than you’d expect from her, a little over the top, yet it still packs an emotional punch so don’t think you’re coming out of this one unscathed! I was laughing out loud, rolling my eyes, and tearing up.
In all honesty, for much of the beginning of this book, I thought Avery and Jake were both a little irritating, a little frustrating, and there was a little too much “did he really say that”/”did she really do that” at times. Then things started to mesh and come together, and I found myself really enjoying the ride. Not only that, I was rooting for them, even if they still drove me a little batty.
Avery and Jake were 2 flawed people who went on quite a journey to find their happily ever after.
“You showed me that what we see on the outside can be very deceiving. A scar doesn’t mean you were weak. A scar means you survived. A scar is a badge of strength.”
I love how Jewel Ann makes you feel so deeply in every story. Avery & Jake are like oil and water, until they just mix. Avery is such a diva. Then she meets tattooed, vegan Jake. I love how Jake strips her bare. I love seeing Avery grow and find her self-worth. These two made me laugh so many times. They made me cry. Naked Love is a beautiful journey of self-discovery filled with ups and downs and love and laughs.
“I’m not, Ave. I’m not scared. I’m relieved. I’m tired of running from the demons. I’m tired of chasing something I can’t see. For the first time in so many years…I can breathe.”
I loved this book. Avery and Jake were hilarious. Both with past experiences that overshadow every thing they hate about themselves. This book made me laugh, and made my heart hurt! So good!
The perfect blend of humor, romance and angst!
The brilliance of this read is how the characters were developed and the emotions they evoked on me.
Raw, steamy, and full of snarky sarcastic humor, “naked truths” are discovered and explored in the most out of the way places!
I’ve never loved or hated characters in a book before to such extremes as I did in this one.
A road trip with a stranger turns into a journey that reveals more than car riding/camping behavior.
This slow burn story was full of sexual tension and intense chemistry. The snarky sarcasm between Avery and Jake had so much bite it made their chemistry and banter combustible!
Can they overcome their demons?
The heroine Avery was the most annoying self absorbed petulant child who had a “helluva” lot to prove to redeem herself.
The hero Jake was too good to be true. Besides being holyhotnes delicious, he was kind, honest and patient.
Their trip takes some unexpected twists and turns as they make their way from Milwaukee to Los Angeles. Self revelations and raw naked truths made this book a poignant and compelling read.
What happens between them was well worth discovering!
My only issue with this read was that Avery’s over the top antics sometimes became too much for me to stand, and their snarky banter was at times, just plain nas-ty!

Jewel has been my number one book for I know two years now !! And this one may be my favorite read for 2019!! Omg I loved it !!! It has everything you need.. love, emotions, hot sex , tents , a dog .. I mean everything!!!
Dog books get me every time. They turn me into a emotional wreck and have me ugly crying !!! Hold back the sob girl !! You got this !!
And then you made me sob again !! The ending oh my goodness !!
And I love the T-shirt’s !! They made me lol several times !!
So apparently I loved the book!! Get it !!
This story is very Emotional but had me laughing out loud. Another amazing story from JEA!
Avery and Jake are complete opposites. Avery is everything Jake hates. He takes her along on his road trip for Deedy’s sake but doesn’t have to like it.
“Bravery isn’t a trait, it’s a few moments of time where we pretend that we’re not vulnerable.”
The story is about a journey in more ways than one. Avery learns a surprising amount about herself but has her heart broken in the process.
“I love you like an acoustic song. The words mean more. The emotions are magnified. It’s like the stars … during the day we don’t see them, but at night when the world around us feels stripped and bare, they shine so brightly.”
The story is funny but so emotional. I was laughing through sad tears at times. I loved Avery. She was hiding so much of herself from everyone under her shallow exterior.
-5 Stars!-
Bared and Beautiful
Jewel writes stories filled with flawed, real people. She writes stories with emotions leaking from the pages. Readers will get swept up in the magic of her words, sway from the emotions, and free fall into love with her characters.
It’s inevitable…the need to smile. You won’t be able to hold it in. All the sadness, all the misgivings, and the mistakes lead to a perfectly flawed and wonderous version of Naked Love.
Swoon at the swoony spots. Cry at the heartbreak. Rage when you feel betrayed. Love is like a ninja. It can be sleathly and sly or it can kick your butt before you even know it’s there…sometimes it’s both.
Enjoy Avery’s trip and if you haven’t already read Sydney’s you should!!! Undeniably You was my first Jewel book and I have never regretted the path it took me down.
You can never go wrong with a Jewel E. Ann book. Every book is a unique journey and this journey took us on the road. A cross country journey with a sassy dog and a good ol’ dollop of enemies to lovers.
Avery never knew what turn love was. She kept herself happy with things instead of people.
Jake was quite the opposite, but we all know the trope of opposites attract!
It took Jake Matthews to strip Avery naked of all the materialistic things and show her love, true love. Naked love.
This book deserves ALL THE STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My second book by author Jewel E. Ann and what is sure to be in my top reads of 2019 right along with the first book, A Place Without You. I can’t tell you what it is about this author and her novels, because quite frankly there unlike the smut I tend to gravitate to, but they call to my soul. This was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more than a romantic comedy. This was everything rolled into one of the best books I’ve ever read. I laughed so hard I cried and I cried so hard my heart hurt.
Avery Montgomery, diva, Princess, materialistic bitch, and many more things, had, what she thought was her best life, when in fact she was suckin hine tit imo 😉
This chick was a HOT SPOILED ROTTEN MESS!!!!! Oh my Lord!! And I’m gonna tell you what her problem was….she didn’t know her worth.
Ave, as her sister Sydney likes to call her, runs into a bit of a problem with her latest 2 year relationship and she embarks on a cross country excursion to see her dad, with her sisters dog in toe. When she reaches Chicago, she finds another surprise awaiting her that basically knocks her on her ass. She and her dad then head to Milwaukee…where she meets said surprise. No spoilers here, but its at this stop that she happens upon Mr. Jake Matthews. Well, lets just say that everyone thinks he is the cats meow and Mr. Amazing. He ends up agreeing to take her and the dog back to L.A. but this is a camping excursion and she better be prepared.
See, the thing about Avery is she is extremely pampered…nails polished, toes polished, extensions in her hair, the finest clothes and shoes and handbags and shes about to get in a truck with a dude, hot, tatted up dude, and sleep in a tent and live off the land for however long he decides its gonna take them to get back to Cali.
The beginning of the book was so hilarious but the shenanigans from the start of the trip had me crying I was laughing so hard and then by the end I was crying because my heart was hurting.
Jake has a past and imho he was very judgmental of Avery and in turn she was extremely vain and a bit shallow at times. This all comes to fruition throughout their trip together and their bond certainly grows and then…well you’re gonna have to read the book!!! This is not only a tale of love but of loss and finding your happy place.
I loved this story because it wasn’t about complete transformation. It was about looking at what’s INSIDE yourself and finding that it isn’t about the clothes you wear or the amount your bag costs, its about genuine kindness and most importantly love. When you love someone it doesn’t matter if they have on makeup or if they carry the Louis bag or wear the most expensive clothes, its about the confidence that person has in themselves, its about knowing their worth but also that person knowing it too.
Jewel told this story and it absolutely blew me away by how real it was. I honestly couldn’t have loved this anymore. I certainly intend on reading more books by this brilliant author and if you haven’t picked up a book by her and you want a feel good stand alone story I highly recommend this one!!
