THE FIRST NOVEL IN J. D. ROBB’S #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING IN DEATH SERIES
In the year 2058, technology completely rules the world. But for New York City Detective Eve Dallas, one irresistible impulse still rules the heart: passion… survival depends on her instincts. And she’s going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire—and a suspect in Eve’s murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it’s up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about—except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.

I have read this book at LEAST 11 times. No, really. Each time I got another group of the series to read ( I would only read them in order and try to buy them at trade or 1/2 price places.) I would start at book 1 again and read through to the end of the new-to-me books. I’m still doing it, only I finally bought all the books on Kindle. I spent a …
I love Eve Dallas and Roarke! What a dream team. This series has so many great supporting characters. I started the series late and I have made the books my go to when I’m looking for a reliable means of escape from my daily reality.
This is the first book in the In Death series by J D Robb. It begins in 2058, but it’s not science fiction. It’s how a normal world advanced by almost 30 years would be like. Murder still needs solved but the tools are advanced. People still fall in love and get married and live unusual lives. Great book!
A book that launches a great character. This is one of my favorite series. I think anyone into crime fiction needs to read this series
It’s about cotton-picking time, right? Yes, I have finally started the In Death series. It’s to be my own personal series challenge for the year (okay, perhaps we should say years since last I checked there were nearly fifty installments and that’s just the novel-length ones). Futuristic murder mysteries, gritty and tough female cop, and …
I love the world that JD Robb has created, and Eve, an incredibly strong but haunted woman. Roarke is also a fabulous character with layers I enjoyed reading through. This book was the start of my love affair with Eve, Roarke and the entire cast of characters that make up the … In Death series. Thank you for creating them for our enjoyment.
One of the best writers
I have loved reading all of J. D. Robb’s futuristic books.
Great series!
Couldn’t put it down.
I love her series of books.
This is one of the few authors I just have to have the hard copy the day it comes out!! It’s amazing it’s always flowing and the characters are evolving, once a new book in the series shows up the UPS driver knows it’s one of these because I’m always waiting for him outside when I hear him pull up! I could literally copy and paste this to every …
This is my favorite series and have read all but the last 2, can’t wait to read them
A fabulous story. I loved the interaction between eve and Roarke. They are not the normal couple. They shouldn’t work but they manage it.
A nice first read of JD Robb. Investigative crime with a romantic subplot between characters.
I loved the development of Eve Dallas and her interaction with her partner and carnal interest … Rourke. Nice little murder mystery, an easy quick read, and an enjoyable on the beach read … or, a nice winter read by the fire. The 1st on the long …
Great murder mystery series with a splash of romance. Cant get enough!
Love this series! Addicted to characters.
I read most of the “In Death” books, but I’m too lazy to list them all here. Suffice it to say that they are all terrific and I love spending time with Eve and Roarke.
Always love characters and the entire series
I’m a newbie to J.D. Robb’s books and have been meaning to read the In Death series. I decided to sign up for the #InDeathReadALong hosted by @UTCBookBlog and @pnrbookloverreviews, so I can finally read this series. I’ll read a book a month, and eventually catch up with the series. (Hopefully)
The first book, Naked in Death, was written back in …
