THE FIRST NOVEL IN J. D. ROBB’S #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING IN DEATH SERIES
In the year 2058, technology completely rules the world. But for New York City Detective Eve Dallas, one irresistible impulse still rules the heart: passion… survival depends on her instincts. And she’s going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire—and a suspect in Eve’s murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it’s up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about—except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.

Great book
I’ve read this book 2x. I had forgotten how most of the characters met up and was glad to go back and see how it all started. Would recommend for first time JD Robb readers as well as seasoned Dallas fans.
First time I read this book, I couldn’t stop reading. it may too much violence for easy romance book lover.
But so much interesting characters and original, I love this book. I read so many times since I bought more than 5 years ago.
JD Robb is one of the best authors I’ve ever read. Her books always intrigues and draws you in. Her characters are so well thought out and built to be able to get you hooked on the story. Once I start reading, I have trouble stopping no matter how important it may be. You have to read her books for yourself to see if she grabs you the same way.
I’ve read so many of the Eve Dallas books, mostly on audio book. I love them all. I was especially excited to read the first in the series. My goal is to read every single book in the series. These books are fantastic!
The first Eve Dallas book. And the series quality continues.
Absolute my favorite series from Nora Roberts (writing as J D Robb). If you haven’t read any of the “Naked” series you need to start!!
This is the first book in the Eve Dallas series. She is a detective in the New York of the future. Don’t get the wrong idea, there are no vampires, or shape shifters, only monsters in this series are murderers. It is Eve’s job to hunt down and apprehend these killers, a job she does well despite any interference from the politicians, the press …
My absolute favorite book in my favorite series. I bet I have read it at least 12 times and listened to it a few times more. This book sets the stage perfectly for the series to come.
Eve and Roarke are wonderful protagonists. The world building here is fantastic as is the character development. What is more astounding is that the series, which …
Love Nora Roberts as JD Robb. Keeps you wanting to finish the book
Totally different. I liked it…
she always writes a great book
I never miss one of Eve Dallas’s Books. JD Robb is my favorite author as her books are all page-turners.
I love J D Robb’s In Death’s series. I’ve read all her books at least once and enjoy reading the over again. I look forward to her new additions to the series each year. I especially love the way she’s developed the characters and the relationships that Dallas builds with them. I can’t get enough of her books.
I’m a huge fan of Nora Roberts but this is the first of her JD Robb series I’ve read. I was a bit put off at first because I didn’t understand a lot of the “jargon”. Then it dawned on me that it was set in the future (2058 not confirmed until much later on). Guns are now antiques and illegal, replaced by lasers. Space travel is everyday but …
I’m not a sci-fi fan or such … but this novel got me intrigued from the very beginning. Very believable characters, easy to imagine the various futuristic tools, vehicles, customs, and whatever. Best of all, the connection between the hero and heroine just pulls at the heart-strings. Very, very romantic. Eve is one of my favorite characters …
Have read all (as of now) 50 of this series and can’t wait for the next one to come out. Love Eve Dallas and Rourke, all the characters are great and I really like how you find out about the lives of not just the main characters. Ms Roberts keeps all the twists and turns of the storyline very interesting.
