THE FIRST NOVEL IN J. D. ROBB’S #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING IN DEATH SERIES
In the year 2058, technology completely rules the world. But for New York City Detective Eve Dallas, one irresistible impulse still rules the heart: passion… survival depends on her instincts. And she’s going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire—and a suspect in Eve’s murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it’s up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about—except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.

This is the first of the Eve Dallas and Roark books and I HIGHLY recommend the series.
Love the “in death” books and this first in the series is a must read
I plan on audiobook listening to every In Death book in 2021, and the first one doesn’t disappoint. Audible kindly allowed me the first one on credit.
Narrator Susan Erickson did a wonderful job narrating the book. She differentiated the voices and inflection enough that we knew who the different characters. Great job with Roarke’s Irish accent …
I love this series by J. D. Robb. Eve Dallas is a great character. This book is full of action and suspense. This was the first I read in this series and I had to buy more . They never disappoint
I love all things J.D. Robb! Always excited to read more about LT and Roarke.
This is the first book in the series and the one I think is the hardest to get through because of sensitive topics. However, it sets up the rest of the series and gives you background into character motivations. I cannot recommend this series enough. These characters are my book family. When they laugh, I laugh. When they cry, I cry. You get it. …
Although not quite a series, this « In Death » book is the first of many that brought me much entertainment. While maybe not necessary to read them in order, there is a background story that is developing through each book and I’m glad I chose to read them in the order that they were written in.
I loved Naked in Death. It was so much fun to follow Eve Dallas a detective through a murder investigation. The romance in Naked in Death was steamy without leaving the reader feeling pervy. Very well done.
Then I went on to book 2. I only got to chapter 3. Eve Dallas the protagonist is not an easy woman to deal with. She’s smart and damaged. …
As a treat I went back to the beginning of the In Death series to remind myself how it all began. It didn’t disappoint, and it also reminded me how much the characters have grown and developed over time, as well as how Ms. Roberts’ storytelling and writing evolved. Kudos.
J.D. Robb never disappoints. Every story is original, her depiction of a future that’s not so far way anymore is completely realistic. Every character is 3-dimensional, with good traits and some human failings, but love always wins – as does Eve.
Completely original future world. Great characters- love Eve and Roarke’s 1st meeting. What chemistry! And the mystery is good, as well.
This is the first of the Eve Dallas series by J.D. Robb, also Nora Roberts. An excellent series, if you like murder mysteries
First of the JD Robb series that I have read. Looking forward to reading more and see how Eve and Roark do.
The introduction of the characters made me want to continue the series to see how they would be developed
I love this entire series and eagerly await the new ones. Set in the future which usually does not interest me, it is well written and the future setting actually enhances rather than distracts.
I’ve never read a bad JD Robb – Love her books !
One of the best series ever to begin! Just read #49. You don’t have to read them all or in order but it will make the rest make more sense.
fair read
I have liked all the “Death” books by Robb. They are just very entertaining and they keep your interest.
Eve Dallas books science fiction and murder at it’s best!
