This entire series is addictive. Set in the near-future, homicide detective meets bad boy billionaire and both murder and romance ensue. Honestly, if you like romantic suspense you have got to give this book a try.
J. D. Robb begins her blockbuster series with this terrific story, Naked in Death, unveiling characters that all her fans have come to love. Eve Dallas leaps off the page with her long legs, self-cut hair, and bold, take-no-prisoners investigation style. Supporting characters are delightful, And love interest Roarke? To die for!
This favorite …
I highly recommend J.D. Robb’s “In Death Series” for those of you who like a lot of mystery, action and suspense mixed in with your romance. J.D. Robb(aka Nora Roberts) characters Eve Dallas and Roarke have such depth and at times some funny role reversals that keep you coming back for the next one. Even though this series takes place in the …
The beginning of a great series.
This series is a great mix of urban fantasy and police procedural. This first book remains my favorite because it packed such a wonderful punch. Love the characters, Eve’s difficult background, the action. Always a good mystery, some romance and page-turning delight.
Anyone who is a Nora Roberts fan has read at least one, if not thirty-something, JD Robb books. Right? You have, haven’t you?
The JD Robb In Death series remains one of my most favorite series of all time. And the first book in the series, Naked in Death, ranks up there with one of my favorite romantic suspense books ever. So much so that I …
This is a good start to what I consider to be a great series. As a stand alone book, it is fine, but as an introduction to the series, it’s wonderful. I love the characters introduced in these books, and watching them evolve as the series goes on. I also really enjoy the slightly futuristic world in which they live.
Lt. Eve Dallas must find out who killed Senator DeBlass granddaughter. In her quest she meets Roarke a multi billionaire. Together they find the killer and a romance. This is a great series. I highly recommend it
It was the first of the In Death series of JD Robb book that I read. I think that someone should start filming this series. They would make great movies, as long as the people who are writing the screen plays don’t go off half cocked like most do and change things what happened in the books. That’s what I really hate about making books into …
No matter what name she uses she can tell a story and develop her characters. I can read and reread her books again and again. Eve is rough around the edges, a loner who doesn’t trust easily, but she is human and you see it from the beginning. So does the man who wants her as his own, the one who is a suspect in her murder case, the one that she …
This the first book in the JD Robb In Death series. There are 43 released books with two more coming in 2017. I am a HUGE Nora Roberts fan. JD Robb, for anyone who doesn’t know, is her pseudonym in this genre: Urban Fantasy. For years I saw these books and just thought I wasn’t interested in these kinds of stories….AND THEN…I read a novella …
I first read NAKED IN DEATH many years ago but decided to re-read the series since I had missed some books due to other obligations. I love the series and couldn’t imagine that the first book was as good as I remembered, BUT IT WAS. The characters immediately drew you in and the banter and heat between them were fantastic. I highly recommend …
Eve Dallas is one of my all-time favorite heroines: tough, smart, and fiercely loyal. If you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for?
Nora Roberts is a master storyteller with illuminate character’s, she delivers a tale you have to know the outcome. Naked in Death will not let you down.
This book started my love affair with the In Death Series. I love these books because they are funny entertaining and NOT silly. One can tell these books are written with thought. Not just a bunch of descriptors or one liners thrown together and called a book. Eve Dallas is my absolute favorite character. Been reading novels for 40 years. She is …
In the first of her ‘in death’ series J.D. Robb, aka Nora Roberts, hooks you into the world of a futuristic NYC homicide detective. The characters are well developed, and by the end of the book you are willing to go along with all the off planet opportnities and flying cars.
Nora Roberts does romance and suspense to perfection, and the first book in her futuristic series (written as J.D. Robb) about Eve Dallas, a NYPD detective with a dark past, is amazing. Naked in Death introduces the reader to Eve who is a tough, intelligent heroine you will immediately root for. From the beginning, Eve and her colleagues are …
Doesn’t get any better than this! I instantly fell in love with Eve and Roarke. The world they live in is incredible. Love a good crime\mystery story.
Whew, I finally started this series after years of saying that I would someday. Of course, I have a whole lot of catching up to do since the series has 50 some odd books at this point. If all of the books in the series are as good as this one was, I have some wonderful reading ahead of me. I really had a great time with this book from beginning …
I highly recommend this book and the entire series (Book #50 will be published in February 2020). I re-read the entire series, including novellas, in order every year over the holidays. This book and this series are just that good. I want to be Eve Dallas’s best friend and find me a man like Roarke.
