Love these series, shows that women can do anything!! Jennifer and Carson’s story is a comedy of errors, it’s great watching these two go through everything and come out the other side together.
First book in the new series brings bounty hunting into the twenty first century. Lots of action and intrigue and even romance to keep your interest.
Jennifer must capture the man who jumped bail or her family’s historic bounty hunting business will have to close, she is determined it will not happen on her watch.
Jennifer and Carson’s meeting is a calamity of errors and misunderstandings that leads to a fun filled and exciting adventure.
Nailing the Hit Man is filled with action, suspense, and lots of mystery as Jennifer and Carson try to find the elusive bad guy. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and get your blood pumping.
Nailing the Hitman is the first book in the newest generation of McKenzie bounty hunters. Jennifer and her cousins are in desperate need to find Christopher Lopez before the million dollar bail he skipped on is due. Unfortunately, they were unaware of his twin brother Carson. After Jennifer accidentally detains the wrong twin, the two decide to join forces to bring in Christopher. Sparks soon fly between Jennifer and Carson as they race to put and end to Christopher’s reign of terror.
I enjoyed meeting the newest generation and all of their crazy sidekicks. I am eagerly awaiting Brittany ‘s story.
I received an ARC from the author for purposes of an unbiased review.
A bounty hunter gets more than she bargains for in this romantic crime novel that has moments of hilarity, and that is generally fast-paced and suspenseful. Jennifer feels as if she is in a lemon press, being squeezed from all sides as she discovers that her family business is under threat and will have to close their doors if Christopher Lopez is not brought to justice. Tracking down the missing bail jumper exposes her first mistake when she finds out that her target has an identical twin brother, Carson. Ultimately Carson joins forces with Jennifer in tracking down his evil twin, a race that takes them from one side of the country and back again, all within a few days. However in that time, more and more truths are exposed, but the one that shakes Jennifer to the core is the direct hit to her heart. This novel is generally well written with interesting characters and a plot that keeps one involved throughout. It is also a standalone and comes to a successful close, but one that opens the way to the next story in the series. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Nailing The Hitman by Sylvia McDaniel
Lipstick & Lead 2.0 definitely is as good as the previous Lipstick & Lead Books. I enjoyed meeting the contemporary version of the bounty hunters, the circus was truly enjoyable and downright funny at times. There’s plenty of action, drama, humor, and of course romance. Carson and Jennifer have an interesting courtship chasing his twin brother Christopher all over the place avoiding him at the same time as he’s a Hitman. The rest of the office staff is quirky and fun as well. Lots of exciting stuff going on here in this contemporary version of the lipstick & lead series. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Jennifer co-owns Lipstick and Lead a bounty hunting business and they have a hitman jump a million dollar bail so when she thinks she has him it turns out to be his twin. Now she is going to Vegas with the twin in hopes to capturing her bail jumper not realizing that she maybe losing her heart. Well written book and loved the characters.
Received from the author and this my honest and unbiased opinion.
In this book, Lipstick and Lead is ran by the fourth generation of ladies. And I must say they are just as spunky as the founders! Jennifer Delgado and her cousins are determined to keep the family business up and running but after doing a million dollar bond on someone who jumped bail, they realize they have to catch the jumper no matter what. After they find there man, capture him, and take him in, they realize they haven’t got the right man, instead they have his identical twin brother. Carson Lopez has tried to avoid his family’s affairs at all cost. He never wanted to be a part of the crime it involved. His twin brother was a totally different story. And now, his brother is on the run and has a hit list of people he wants to take out. Carson included. He teams up with Jennifer to try to track him down before anyone else is hurt. But can they keep each other safe as well? And what will they do about the chemistry between them?
Sylvia McDaniel has once again written a book that had me glued from the very first page. I have been looking forward to this series to come out and she again did not disappoint. If you loved the Lipstick and Lead series, you will LOVE the Lipstick and Lead 2.0 series! I highly recommend it!!
ARC for honest review with no compensation
Nailing The Hit Man is book 1 in the new series Lipstick and Lead 2.0 by Sylvia McDaniels and what a way to start this series and bring the bounty hunters into the 21 century! Bullets, suspense, action, misunderstandings and mystery keeps you reading to find about what happens next…
Jennifer McKenzie Delgado and her cousins, Brittany and Katherine run the bounty hunters side of the Lipstick and Lead business. They are so close to capturing the man who jumped bail, left them with a million dollar bond, is part of a cartel and they capture the wrong man…it seems they are twins!!
Carson Lopez, architect and twin brother to Christopher Lopez, hitman and part of the Lopez Cartel who jumped bail, is killing family members and people who turned on him. Carson is mistaken for his brother again so he decides to team up with the sexy bounty hunter to find answers and bring his brother to justice.
Can these two get the answers needed, keep each other safe when the bullets fly, bring the brother to justice and maybe find a HEA neither was looking for or will the cartel drive them apart for good??
Sylvia’s stories are always filled with intriguing characters. Lipstick and Lead bounty hunter Jennifer and Carson’s story keeps you turning the pages to see what confronts them next while she tries to save the family business.
This isn’t my usual genre, but I really enjoyed the ride. The character’s, especially the women, were tough as nails, but with a caring and loyal side.
This story is about twins, one good and one evil. I kept thinking the story was leading me into thinking one thing, then BAM I was totally wrong. Great suspense, twists, intrigue, quirky character’s and romance.
Lovemaking, outside of marriage, heat level 4 + out of 5, described a few times. I felt a connection to them so it was filled with passion/romance and not lust.
Engaging character’s, no cheating, no cliffhanger for our main couple, but an interesting set up for the other stories to come. Bumpy road to HEA, honest dialogue, no games played and an action packed story. (ljb)
NAILING THE HIT MAN is the first book in the Lipstick and Lead 2.0 series. Each one will stand on its own, but this one started out feeling like I was already missing something, and it was the first book in the series. Maybe that’s because it was a spinoff off of a series that I had only ever read the first book?
Though the new generation has nothing to do with the ladies of the old west except for the same dogged determination, attitude in abundance, and beauty. The continuation of the business begun by Meg, Annabelle, and Ruby, Jennifer, is paramount to Jennifer and her cousins, Brittany and Katherine.
Maybe it was that “missing something from the start,” but Carson and Jennifer’s attraction just felt like words on paper and not like chemistry for most of the story. On the other hand, the suspense and bullets were fun and well thought out.
The office “circus” of characters has a lot of potential for providing humorous scenes in future stories, as they did in this one, while also helping to move the story forward with information and clues when needed.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

As usual, Sylvia doesn’t disappoint when she gives us a new story. Anyone who enjoys Janet Evanovich or Sarah Strohmeyer will love this amazing new series about a trio of lady bounty hunters. This spicy and adorable book is a don’t miss for readers who love action, romance, and a woman getting her man.
There are so many good things that can be said about “Nailing the Hit Man”, but one thing for certain, this is a read that is not to be missed. The Lipstick and Lead bounty hunters are brought into the 20th century, and are as much fun to read as their ancestors were 100 years ago. Jennifer and Carson’s story is filled with so much action, suspense, lots of twists, and a romance leading to a HEA, it was a page turner for me. This has to be one of my favorites of Sylvia McDaniel’s books, and I look forward to reading more of ‘Lipstick and Lead 2.0’. **I was gifted a copy of “Nailing the Hit Man” and leave my opinion based on my reading.** 5 Stars!
This is an action packed, highly entertaining, engaging and heart racing adventure filled with emotional thrills, dangerous charters, witty banter and edge of your seat twists…… a exciting read from beginning to end and a journey that will leave you energized and looking for more! Loved it!
